Thanks for the tip in not overfilling the bag and for running the zipper across several times. I'll try that as I didn't find these bags good for long term storage. I may be over filling them (I did leave several inches at the top).
I've run my finger over the top of the bag a million times these bags do not hold their suction. Never have never will. I've been using them for over 20 years lol
I bought the one with the pump. You can twist on the pump so that it doesn't loosen and suck in outside air. Just used it on a trip with the medium-sized bags. It took about 2 minutes of hand pumping. It suctioned very well. When it started to get harder to pull up on the pump I knew I did a good job.
