Palm Beach - Screaming Current - Commercial Lobster Dive 8-6-24

First day of the regular lobster season and we have marginal conditions. A screaming current, visibility of less than we are used to and a bit of wind and storms in the area cutting down on light on the bottom and just making things more of a challenge.
I had a tough day, found a lot of lobsters with eggs and did only two tanks.

Glad you were able to recover your float. Without that the boat would never be able to find you. Way to tough out bad conditions.

Yeah it would suck to lose the scooter. I have an extra smb to deploy if I lose the float.

I was out this day as well. Current was ripping ! Worst opening day in a while as far as bugs go.

Man it's hard to chase bugs in screaming current! All those guys that say using snares makes the job easier, has never tried to grab bugs in screaming current. Tickle stick and net is so much more efficient when you're kicking like mad or grabbing rock to stay at your rock and land a bug. The only saving grace is when you find a huge ledge and can get down out of the current and work the bugs.

Yeah, I like the net, but I know a lot of people who are better than me and they use a looper/noose. It takes a while to learn a particular technique, and it makes it hard to try something else. Thanks for the comment.-

Just shove your hand in the hole and pull them out

@@netresults08 Sure thing, as long as the house is not guarded by a second occupant. (other than another lobster) Ya know. the green long serpent looking thing......that would be a bad day.
