  • Woodland Springtime. In this video we take a look at adding beams of light or sun rays using Adjustments layers. The colours and tones are also enhanced in the image using Adjustment Layer. This technique is totally adjustable and can be used in any version of Elements or Photoshop Web Site davrophotofx.co.uk

This maybe a little "old" but a very good tut, and works well. Thank you

You're right Peggy McCauley, it is an older video but it still works in most versions of PSE. Pleased you enjoyed it , David

I'm having difficulty with this. I have elements 2022 and the gradient editor will not show it in just black and white when I go to HSB. Any ideas Please?

Hi Janey Hitchcock, I'm using Elements 21 and the Gradient panel is still the same so it must have been an update in 2022 version? I will have to look into this further and get back to you. David

Stunning...don't think I will be able to remember the steps, so will have to watch tutorial several times when I have a picture that needs sun-rays.....great tutorial though

I can never get rid of all the colour in the gradient despite following all these steps (PSE 2020). Anyone have any thoughts?
    Great technique otherwise.

Gerald Diamond, make sure that you move the Saturation slider to the left (1:42) this will make the Gradient B/W. Pleased you enjoyed the technique and please let me know how you get on. Cheers David
