+Matt Chung I think it sounds pretty good here, but it makes sense that it'd sound even better in a big venue. Conan's show isn't exactly designed for acoustics and the equipment wouldn't have been as high tech as a specialised music venue.
Because it has multiple layers of syncopated rhythms with varying articulations- short separated notes followed by long connected ones. The synth on the left is ever so quiet forming a less noticeable but powerful foundation, the bass guitar doubles as another melodic voicing, the vocoder effect is EVEN better when sung over block chords, and then this is played over the last syncopated hook of the out-tro. Also they don't follow a verse-chorus-verse that mostly all band follow, making the flow more organic and catches the listeners ears as it appears it's unfolding naturally.

This performance in particular and of this specific song, while imagining some seapunk visuals in my head, I can't help but see the physical and technological embodiment of daft punk's discovery and Interstella 5555. A decade ago real musicians couldn't really yet be craftsmen while playing such sounds. Now it's a reality, due to new (yet foreseen) gadgets, tools and instruments. And it's more grounded, because it's not some dj's playing their records. They're now able to create the authentic version of it.
Oh my GOD. This is one of the best live bands around right now, maybe that have ever existed. I feel so incredibly lucky to have lived during the span of their career.

Lyrics
It's always around me, all this noise
But not nearly as loud as the voice saying
"Let it happen, let it happen (It's gonna feel so good)
Just let it happen, let it happen"
All this running around
Trying to cover my shadow
An ocean growing inside
All the others seem shallow
All this running around
Bearing down on my shoulders
I can hear an alarm
Must be a warning
I heard about a whirlwind that's coming 'round
It's gonna carry off all that isn't bound
And when it happens, when it happens (I'm gonna be holding on)
So let it happen, let it happen
All this running around
I can't fight it much longer
Something's trying to get out
And it's never been closer
If my ticker fails
Make up some other story
And if I never come back
Tell my mother I'm sorry
I will not vanish and you will not scare me
Try to get through it, try to bounce to it
All the while thinking I might as well do it
They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid
Take the next ticket to take the next train
Why would I do it? And you wanna think that
I will not vanish and you will not scare me
Try to get through it, try to bounce to it
All the while thinking I might as well do it
They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid
Take the next ticket to take the next train
Why would I do it? And you wanna think that
I will not vanish and you will not scare me
Try to get through it, try to bounce to it
All the while thinking I might as well do it

much much love for this amazing lot, great seeing Kevin's genius work come to life in such a fullfilling way
One of the best bands out today..straight up
That was incredible! Kevin Parker 2016!
Never want this song to end. One of my favorites!
This is absolutely amazing. Such a good show.
Damn they are so GOOD!!!
The sound is so gooooood 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I'm seeing your comments everywhere lol
+CriticalxInstincts Hahaha💁🏻 😼
+bree torious you have a good taste in music tho
Most anticipated album of the year imo
OMG, what a PERFORMANCE! They're great live and this is one of my fav song of em ♥
este tipo de canción es adictiva😏
This performance in particular and of this specific song, while imagining some seapunk visuals in my head, I can't help but see the physical and technological embodiment of daft punk's discovery and Interstella 5555. A decade ago real musicians couldn't really yet be craftsmen while playing such sounds. Now it's a reality, due to new (yet foreseen) gadgets, tools and instruments. And it's more grounded, because it's not some dj's playing their records. They're now able to create the authentic version of it.
tiesthijsthejs daft punk seems to have an influence in all music because they're always so ahead of the times with their sounds
Oh my GOD. This is one of the best live bands around right now, maybe that have ever existed. I feel so incredibly lucky to have lived during the span of their career.
One of my absolute favorite songs ever. Tame gets me emotional.
I think he was missing a pedalboard. He only had 3 of them on stage?
makesoundsnotlove yess usually he has all the pedals need for every song. he only had to set put the ones used for this song which isnt gonna be all of his hundreds of pedals
makesoundsnotlove yess Some people sound like shit with big pedalboards.
Kevin is not one of these people.
Diax1324 I agree!
makesoundsnotlove yess Especially since guitar is such an important part of this song (and album) /s
Hes using multieffects maybe
Cant wait to see these guys at Splendour, holy SHIT
Everything is so perfect I’m crying
Love this song, it’s insane how good it is
I hate all the pretentious comments on this video with a passion
Here's a palate cleanser then: I have yet to get tired of this song. It's one of those rare songs that feels just as good the millionth time as it did the first time I heard it. Thanks for the upload.
it's fucking true...
I was sad every single comment wasn't referring to the proof that was shown live on television that night.. that gods do exist and they come to our late night shows from the musical plane of 5D and speak to us through flawless song that ascends those who are down to hear
I missed the pretentious comments I guess...I just love the song...damned cheap smartphone data plan. SMH.
Lisa McGuire ugh freakin pretentious hipsters and their cheap data plans.. get a real job and obtain an increasingly impossible wage before the FCC makes us feed our IP Overlards for deluxe access to today's top video streamers. back in my day we knew that if you wanted to read pretentious text you dialed up the modem and learned to read slower so the page could load. kids today should be thankful we even get to work 50+ hours a week just to survive. Y'all should be thankful Master even let's you go home.. if you don't do as the man says we could always just try mandatory inslavement again.. I mean, at least your not conscious of it this time, right? now quit wasting bandwidth reading this and get back to the field!
3:32 that fill is smooth af
Jay and Dom on the keys ! So talented ! What a powerful song !
This live performance is so awesome. That’s sweet when he switches guitars for that next part. It sounded awesome
