  • This is a test ride for the Yezdi Adventure, a vehicle I've been eyeing for some forthcoming rides. Simply put, the bike works the way I want it to.

I don’t recommend any particular brand, but look for low end and mid range torque, this are the sweet spots for the most part.

    Go for RE Himalayan

A bike that sells more is always the better bike. There is a difference between how a bike performs when it is new and when it grows old. Knowing the way you travel I would that you buy a RE Himalayan, which has proved itself beyond doubt. If the Yezdi adventure was as good as what they claim it to be, then it would have been selling like hot cakes. Buy a bike that will do the distance

Bhai m not arguing or saying wrong over ur comment, i just wana say bhai grow up RE k badh bhi duniya mei kuch hein, ktm 390 adventure/yezdi itself/vstrom/honda launching 250 or 200cc adventure motorcycle, just is that RE is cheap with powerful engine for tht only people buy it else service and long lasting are very well known by there owner

There are bikes that are cheaper than RE. I ride extensively and hence I vouch for the reliability and repairability of the contemporary RE machines. I made this suggestion to 'the lonely traveller' in view of the kind of ride he does. Since he can pull a Honda scooter over the roughest of the terrain he will easily make the other machines also work for him. At the end of the day it is 'man over machine'.

@abhijit I have test driven the RE Himalayan, Meteor, Classic, and Scram. I've also test driven Speed 400, all three 2023 Yezdis, new 2023 Jawa 42 and classic, 2023 V-Strom 250 and the KTM 390 ADV, Duke 390. Of all these, every single RE has disappointed me the most. I absolutely hated how clunky, lazy, heavy, difficult and unnatural they feel. They're not at par with modern motorcycles. RE has a cult following which is why they sell more. The only reason why people don't rave about the Yezdis or Jawas is because they relaunched after a really really long time. Do you think if they hadn't stopped manufacturing or selling in India, RE Himalayan would've had such high sales? Stop this weird cult like brand loyalty.

As bikers we tend to be subjective about our choice of bike. The prejudices that we hold are bound to influence our choice and comments. I am advocating a bike which has the miles to show on the odometer and the road presence to ensure long serviceability. At the age of 55 years I have seen a lot of pretenders entering the competition against RE and then vanishing from the scene all together. Times have changed considerably and today the other bike makers are competing against RE and NOT the other way around. I will bet my money on the 'Lambe race ka Ghoda' rather than any fancy bike with impressive theoratical statics. I rest my case buddy. Ride safe. Ride Happy.
