    I have a friend who I got to help fund recently in Turkey & Syria. The man loves smuggling Bibles 🤷‍♂and was surprised by some of the open doors he found there, especially Syria. He has been preaching about these areas in the 10/40 window for years (but as you said, it's not 'popular' among Christians). I never knew someone with a stronger heart for Muslims. Even here in the States, when we go hang out, we always seem to end up at foreign markets where he's passing out Bibles & Tracts (also having conversations). I can honestly say I have met some men who really do care. Having witnessed his dedication to these people...sometimes I feel like I'm really just learning to tie my shoes in Christianity. I appreciate you shining light onto this Joshua 🙏

      There are HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of people in other countries who will NEVER see a Christian, a church, or a Bible.

    Traveling to this part of the world really broadens one's perspective. I've made 10 trips to India, where I conducted Christian leadership training. In a society where people are sometimes physically assaulted or even killed for their faith in Christ, water baptism takes on a much deeper meaning, as one is buried under the water and rises again a new creature in Christ. Miracles are much easier to minister, as the supernatural is readily embraced. Unfortunately, there have been a number of bad things imported from the US version of Cristianity, and I have found these things to be significant hindrances that need to be challenged and overcome, in order for the church to advance.

I've tried to concentrate my efforts on interactive teaching/training with smaller groups of strategic leaders. The emphasis of my hosts has tended to push toward bigger meetings, and I've also done some of that. But, I've been conscious of the fact that to really effect positive change, it comes through what I can release to the few, with whom I've built trust relationships. The 1040 window has been talked about at least since the 80's if not earlier. It was always talked about back then. I doubt that the region has so many that have not heard the Gospel, but they are very heavily influenced by the Hindu and Muslim traditions. Just like countries like Iran, Egypt and these mostly muslim regions, they have heard the gospel but their hearts are hard and resist anything other than what they know and have been taught- very much like Americans. We say here that we are Christians but only because it's what we know and have been told for years. But- there are very few actual Christians here in the US. And now we have groups here in the US that think they are Apostles, prophets and have signs and wonders following them when in reality they're full of it. We need to have hearts towards all men, women and children all over the world. Those in the 1040 window who are Christians are the real ones. We have people living in the gutters of this country- men, women and children and as long as we have those here living like that then we need to spent our time here. Send out yes- but we have children here dying from hunger and filth, women dying in the streets. Men struggling to survive and provide here. I also have a heart for the list all over the world. We should stop concentrating on Jesus return and live the Gospel every day.

  • @JonathanBrenneman
    @JonathanBrenneman 6 месяцев назад +1

    In my experience, most "missionaries" going to America aren't going because they have a more pure form of the gospel. It is often even more corrupt. Many go because they feel it is an easier place to live and prosper, and they can get more in tithes...
    To be fair, priorities do need to change, especially about where and how we send missionaries, but massive missionary movements have come out of the United States, and missions is a big thing where I"m from, Lancaster, PA. People have gone around the world from Lancaster.
    I live in Brazil now. I don't know if it's still true, but Brazil was considered the #2 missionary sending country in the world, with the US #1, and more Brazilian missionaries were going to the US than to any other country. That is not for noble reasons. Brazilians have many unreached people groups in their own country, people who've never heard the gospel, large regions where idolatry, witchcraft, incest, and child prostitution are rampant. People eating once a day, no access to clean water. And the money the church spends doing something about that is minuscule compared to the money churches spend on self-serving, even bribes, drugs, prostitues, and hush money paid for by the tithes. I really have a hard time understanding how so many people can keep serving that system instead of Jesus.
    Thank God there ARE no missionaries from Brazil now going to these regions of the country, but for a long time most were just going to the US. Many probably still are. I really don't think the majority of them were actually sent by God to the US. People go there because they think they will have an easier life, not usually because they want to serve Jesus.

      Very good point my friend. Missionaries come here for the money. At least Brazil is a catholic nations which is at least some foundation to preach the true gospel message to the lost

    • @JonathanBrenneman
      @JonathanBrenneman 6 месяцев назад

      @@TornCurtainIJoshuaSimone Brazil was largely a Catholic nation and still has many Catholics, but numbers of Catholics have been rapidly declining and evangelical churches growing. There have been many great moves of God here, but many have been sidelined by corrupt, self-serving leaders and errors that were imported from the United States.
      US missionaries have brought the gospel to many places, but the church in the US has also exported certain errors, especially related to the "gain is godliness" gospel, that have caused tremendous harm in Latin America, Africa, and other places.
      I'm encouraged, however, to see the Holy Spirit igniting a renewed mission movement to the poorer regions in the north and northeast of the country. We are going to the river people May 1-8th...many are quite isolated, drink the same water they do their business is, child prostitution and incest are everywhere, considered culturally normal, many are hungry and lonely. I'm so excited to go and see what the Lord will do there!

      Same thing when Africans say they want to come to the US as a "missionary" I generally find that suspect because when they come most churches they teach are also other Africans seeking to gain money or benefits in America. I rarely see Africans having a large amount of different races like whites, Asians, Arabs, etc Just other Africans and they could teach Africans in Africa as the need is very very dire... but of course many unreached people in Africa are found in very difficult to live places. Coming to America as a "missionary" is much more comfortable.

    Not only sharing their faith or leading people to the Lord...
    Are the people casting out demons and healing the sick?
    Casting out demons and healing the sick were part of Jesus' instructions for his disciples, and it's quite unbiblical to preach the gospel without a demonstration of God's power. Multiple verses confirm this. Disciples are those who follow Jesus and learn to do what he did. As the Father sent Jesus, Jesus sent us, and it is not without power. Healing the sick and casting out demons are part of the great commission, because Jesus taught his disciples to do these things, and then he told them "teaching them to do all things I have taught you."
    And so if a person is not doing, or learning to do, what Jesus taught his disciples to do, they cannot be called disciples. And as it stands, most pastors today are not even disciples of Jesus. And if they are not disciples, how will they teach other people to be disciples?
    And in many cases, if a person does start doing what Jesus taught his disciples to do, the church leadership feels threatened and insecure about it!
    I keep becoming more convinced that the whole system that many call "church" needs to fall...but the gospel and fellowship remain. The very values of the system are so self-serving and actually hinder people from ever becoming disciples of Jesus. They pay the pastor to do ministry for them, and the pastor is rarely actually doing what Jesus taught his disciples for them. It's a spectator thing. It's like going to school for engineering for 30 years and never actually completing an engineering project. In fact, if you get tired of the perpetual theory and actually start acting, the leaders get very uncomfortable with you. Leadership often has almost nothing to do with godly character or any fruit in their lives..." It's just "You're supposed to have a spiritual covering and tithe to be blessed."
    The lynchpin of this system is the tithe. It violates the priesthood of all believers and creates a class of the elite. It frustrates God's grace. It is what supplants Spirit-led giving, caring for the poor and widow, and reaching people who've never heard the gospel. It enforces the hierarchy of people on the top who are there to be served by everybody else. It replaces the message of Christ with fraud (false promises used to get something from you. The Bible calls such teachers "wells without water" and "clouds without rain") an extortion. (Threats used to get something from you.) It's a system that uses people, not loves them. "Pay your tithe and God will bless you. Don't, and you'll be cursed." So if my blessing or curse is based on the tithe, then how is Jesus and His redemptive work relevant to me?
    Then is all the expensive infrastructure used to justify teaching human commands like the tithe. People say "We need money to keep the church going." I can't say infrastructure is "wrong" or never needed, but for the most part, I have no use for it, because dedication to everything people think they need replaces dedication to God's purposes. Priorities change, and nobody cares about the family that doesn't have food for the week when you have to pay the church's overhead.
    So "how will God's kingdom survive without the tithe and all our infrastructure?" To any Christian or pastor who asks me that, I will ask if anybody in their church or on their leadership team has shared the gospel with as many people as I have in the last week, if they've seen as many miracles in their church in the last years of church services as I have in the last week, how many of their neighbors have been healed or delivered from demons? I've seen Jesus heal hundreds of people in my current city and thousands in different places over the years. None of the requires the tithes, the expensive budgets, the infrastructure. The volume only makes it harder to actually minister to each other and act as the body of Christ. The things the institution values have made it nearly totally irrelevant to me.
    The very things many people think are necessary for God's kingdom to survive are the things which are so often hindering them from following Jesus and prioritizing what is important to Jesus.

We have to look at ourselves and realize that We are going extinct in our own country, literally. If in 30 years, We are split up into a millenia of sectarian groups, just having to survive, then the rest of the world will suffer greatly.
