Good video. Very well explained. You showed all the hidden damage that some shops would hide & charge for new parts. Hard to find good shops such as yours. Great business values & ethhics.
Worked with a guy who painted all his tools pink. Everyone on the job would rag on him and give him mess. I asked why pink one day. He pointed out no one asked to "barrow" his tools, he never lost any they always got back to him. 🤔
Even though you have your own successful business and channel and team, it's got to be a big pride moment every time you hear Matt say "Robby'l fix it!"
I worked in a body shop when I was a kid.... the estimator had the hardest job. And when they didn't want to pay what a job would cost, we ended up doing supplemental after supplemental to get them to ALMOST pay what they should. Insurance companies work hard at screwing both the customer and the body shops.
whoevers making/selling the parts is screwing the customer and the insurance companies too. over 1k for a bumper? over 1k for a headlight? is this a porsche? i wouldnt care about screwing the insurance company, but they pass that cost on to us
@@will.green. if you don't like this headlight price, price one out for a sporty Mercedes, and you will think this one if cheap, worth twice the price.
Well Done. It is nice to see a Professional at work. I can safely say that I've never seen a Paint/Body Operation that works as well as yours appears to. Around here the work product is about as half-assed as it can get.
Nice to see a body repair vid again. Those Golden Nugget ones were mesmerizing. LOL. Misquoting your buddy Rory, I can't wait to see you 'blow-torch and splatter' it. You can always tell Matt that Rory helped.
Really like the video! Just hit my 2nd deer this year. 1st in March took to dealership waited 4 months to get back. 11,000.00 in damages. My second one November 15th just got estimate for 8,500.00 from private auto body shop. Hopefully they can get it done sooner than 4 months. They are giving me a loaner where the dealership wouldn't. Love the work you do!
As an insurance agent, I’m going to watch this video with my office staff so that they can better understand what happens after we help customers-turn in Claims. Recently, I purchased a lightly damaged late model camper through Copart (that are Insured owned) paying all the fees to a licensed rebuilder body shop in Illinois. It was to better understand that process and the time it takes to get through, AFTER our Insured has been paid a total loss.
Thanks for taking us through the teardown, inspection, and quote process. Cool to see the behind-the-scenes operations. Auto body repair front and center.
i always enjoy your videos, as a backyard mechanic /body man I learn a lot from your channel. fyi I've been married for 51 years; as long as the boss remains the BOSS you and your family will do just fine 🤠 keep up the good work.
Hey Robby !!! In the estimate ,did you include the labor for fixing the fender & hood alignment ?? Great video & can see why ""COLLISION INS"" is so high !! 👍👍👍👍👍
That was quite interesting. Appreciate you taking the time to disassemble and explain. Also liked the peek at the estimating software and what tyou have to do with insurance companies. Thanks
Great video! I’ve been enjoying your channel for years and this is my first time commenting. It’s nice to see the body shop stuff again. Keep up the excellent work.
Thanks a lot for showing and detailing how it works, and down to the cost, very insightful and great learning opportunity. Helps understand how and why ! Amazing, as always !
It's good to see why repairs are so expensive. I'm sure somebody's making a bundle selling the parts. $1875 for a headlight assembly sounds insane to me.
It would be a ice follow up to show what the insurance company comes back with and the process from then on. 'At least I would enjoy it. Thanks Layton Nation from Steeler Nation
Old stuff is getting more expensive, too. My Ford had a good wallop when someone hit my car in a parking lot. I was quoted 3k for a new bumper, fender, fog light and a repaint. I decided to leave it alone.
My 05 Silverado only cost me $7000.... both headlights and turns cost me less than $100 when I hit a deer, for the $9000 this truck is costing I could replace all my lights, new grille and have a lot left over. I'll stick with the old stuff as well.
Robby is definitely trying to pull a fast one on insurance.... I had a brand new Mercedes that needed much more than just a bumper replaced after a deer hit... It cost 6K...
When I hit a deer in my truck, I wish I had it professionally done, but even at 6K, it was too much for me. I love seeing just how much work goes into these jobs.
Yes sir some shops would glue the light and charge you for a new one. That has happened to me. Well I should say they tried to do that to my insurance company and I caught it and let my insurance company know.
Dude you're amping my anxiety up to the next level every time you say I'm going to do this... Then you say no I'm gonna do something else bro... He's like M .Night shyamalan with "The Twist"!
Whoa ! How much ? Okay fine no wonder auto insurance is so high wonder where the $ in parts and why I get the labor but the parts oh well they pretty much got us 😊 ❤

Great show, really enjoy your body-work tutorials. Also amazing how similar to Kaulin you speak, must be a Utah accent!
Can I send ya my pics and you guys adjust it so I dont have too wait on progressive? Haha.
Nice work! Thank you, Robby.
How much was labor? 😂😂
Add Deer Whistles for next time Matt/ Kaulin
You think with your Barnes connection you would have went with a HD bumper
I dig on Robby's repairs and builds. He does some crazy stuff!
Kaulin has good taste. Color-matched bumpers, etc. are *_much_* better.
I have that on the list for my Silverado Z71 LTZ. Too much chrome!
I enjoyed this one, nice to see collision repair again!
Thanks all!
This is what I like to watch, a master repair man in his element. I also find it educational.

I was an estimator for two years and between the insurance and customers it was not for me
Estimating these type jobs is a pain but time spent here pays for itself when dealing with fools at ins co.

True craftsmanship at its finest!! That's why I enjoy watching your channel!!
Watching the entire tear down/estimate process was educational. Thanks for sharing.

I'm still surprised that Matt's spud truck passenger door hasn't made the journey to Robby and crew. Thanks for showing the process you go through.
Why would you be surprised a unfinished build isn't at the body shop yet?🤔
I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting that coming! You got me.
Robby, I really enjoy your videos. I think what makes them so good, is your obvious genuine work ethic.

Nice job Robby, appreciate you showing start to finish on working up an estimate.
Always love to see you work on body and paint.
With your knowledge you make it look so easy! Very cool to see how it's done!
I enjoy watching collision repair and painting at least as much as recovery. Good stuff.
Great video! I’ve been enjoying your channel for years and this is my first time commenting. It’s nice to see the body shop stuff again. Keep up the excellent work.
That was great. You only see damage from the outside. Neat to see everything that's hidden.
In New Zealand dollars $1,542.75 plus GST at 15% but with shipping properly more. It is time to make cars simpler again.

Thank You Robby for explaining how it works!!
Great video, parts are outragous and plastic too. Thanks and God Bless.
Watching Robby, he is a smart dude and talented.
Really appreciate you going through the estimate process!
ROBBY I LOVE YOUR WORK AND VIDEOS YOU DO ITWITH CLASS AND PRIDE
wow i guessed 5k before you did the estimate. there is no reason for parts prices to be so high. great video today!!
RIGHT!!! And Trump is going to make it worst with his taxes.

You do disassembly so smooth!
Excellent. Thx for the clarification!
That square body Chevy pickup is one beautiful truck. Some lucky duck is going to be really happy!
The truck is giving away is not a square body, it's a 72, square bodies came out in '73.
The reason I buy nothing but arb bull bar bumpers for all my 4wheel drive vehicles keep up the great content
This was a good one! There is more that goes into a estimate than one would think!
9 grand for a bumper and a grill. Think I’ll stay with old stuff
Old stuff is getting more expensive, too. My Ford had a good wallop when someone hit my car in a parking lot. I was quoted 3k for a new bumper, fender, fog light and a repaint. I decided to leave it alone.

Adds up quick when a 0.25c front bumper plastic push pin is $25
Very interesting to see the estimation process.
I like seeing the business side. Interesting
Great video. Makes you understand why repairs cost so much.
Just a suggestion for your Tools Robbie. Paint them Blue, that way you can identify them from others and not get mixed up or hopefully not "lost"..
Paint them “KING FRED BLUE” They will really STICK OUT!
Is it just me or are these videos more enjoyable than the endless build videos.

That’s a nice truck!!!! Nice job taking that thing apart!✌️
Great video Robby. Bodywork is Expensive, that’s for sure. 🤙😎
Really enjoyed seeing what you do on for your actual job
Robby, good video..., quick and informative, darn deer! could have been worse, thank goodness it was only that damage..
As always..... very enjoyable to watch and learn how things like this work behind the scenes.
Alan from Yankum called, he’d like to speak with Matt about that shiny recovery dent remover strap he was using
very nice Robby, that was very informative!
You are really good at auto body for sure. Many other things too ! Thanks for the entertainment
Come on Robby, give Kaulin a cool Brush/Bull/ Deer gaurd for the that cool Sierra Denali 😊 with a 16000ib warne winch 😊😅
interesting insight. Does that quote include labor.
Great job guys. Thank you 😊
I like seeing the body shop stuff as much as I like the fab shop stuff.
Such a unique channel you got going Robby! The occasional auto body video is really interesting to see.
Nice work very interesting. I don’t think you will need to do any additional work on the 69 Charger after I get it because I will not crash it
Showing the estimate process was cool. I’d love to see more stuff like that showing what stuff costs. I assume those parts prices were from the dealer
