@@floppa4335 yeah your right and you can also get salmonella because the only reason you can eat steak rare is because the bacteria cant penetrate far enough in the meat but when you turn the outside into the inside via grounding it the bacteria are all throughout the meat meaning you have to cook it all the way done
its not one of the "most hyped restaurants". its a huge restaurant on a row of restaurants, and when you can't get in other places, you end up there. The only reason people go there on purpose is for brunch, which is pretty mediocre, but again, you can get in because its huge.
I worked in DC for a few months as a consultant. Someone told me about this unassuming French place called bistro du coyne. It was really crowded and old school with a second floor balcony surrounding the restaurant. I was advised to order this thin French steak with french fries and a green sauce. Probably the best meal I've ever eaten. I've been trying to recreate this experience for the past 40 years but never have.
Yelp paid ads will highlight any review that gets the most likes even if you haven’t been to that place. Then this guy comes along and does a google search for “best restaurants in DC” 😂
Tbh you probably don’t make enough money to hear about these places, i work with rich people and they name dropped this place the first month I got here
This restaurant has such a cozy vibe to it. Going during Christmas is definitely the move. Idk how to describe it the atmosphere is just so inviting and warm, perfect for a holiday meal
Man, this video showed me french food in America is almost exactly the same as cajun food but fancier and probably better (but I'm still sticking to my gumbo and crawfish boils).
I've been there. You're easily dropping $100 to 150 per person. The seafood tower is legit. I went with my wife, my best friend and his girlfriend at the time for my birthday a few years ago. Our $600 check got picked up by some guy my best friend knew through the DC club scene, as he is one of the owner's and GM of Echostage in NE DC.
Burger is not over cooked. You can’t have a “medium” or “medium-rare” burger because those will have bacteria. You must fully cook your burger patties!!
@@jeffreycredit355 If you buy American ground beef in the grocery store, it cannot be prepared as steak tartar because processing facilities don't handle it safely enough for raw consumption. Even when properly handled, there's still a chance of infection from tapeworm and other parasites.
@@jeffreycredit355 The FDA recommends a minimum temperature of 160F for ground meats. It's one thing to cook a steak at medium or medium-rare, but American ground beef is far more dangerous.

Took my mom there this year, we just had lots of bread and different appetizers like duck pate and others..its totally worth it. We even skipped main courses, just had appetizers and cheeses
lol I was gonna say, I've lived in DC for two years, and have been visiting for about 20 years and never once has anyone mentioned this as a good place.
Across town at bread alley, which actually supplies bread to le dip, you can buy a whole loaf of that cranberry walnut bread and an entire baguette for the road
ive been here and ur supposed to order the ACTUAL FRENCH FOOD CUZ ITS A FRENCH RESTURANT. the french food is really good at least to me. and yes, the bread was free.
We’re at the part of fringe where food critics are referring to appetizers as “appys”, and orders a god damn burger at french dining. Their menu is incredible. What a waste
Burger patties need to be cooked through, when you're not grinding your own meat. Store bougt ground beef can come from all sorts of weird cuts and places on the cow, and are inherently more prone to harbouring bacteria. Therefore a high core temperature sustained over a period of time will result in a well done burger, but also a safer one.
I can’t believe you got a burger at the best French restaurants in DC. Man you missed out. Their Foie gras is amazing, and had you been a bit more adventurous and acutely got a traditional French dish you would have tried their Steak Frites. You really missed out.
This is a dislike because 1- you said the burger was over cooked 2- you didn’t the onion soup 3- no mention of how good their espresso martini is (that I saw on the table)
$66/£54.55 for appetisers ? $24/19.83 for a burger and fries ? Absolutely insane No way I’d pay that for a burger or appetisers not unless it’s got at least 1 Michelin star and not many Michelin star places do burger and fries. I’d want at least half my money back
I’ve been here. Not bad but I can think of ten places close by you can get better food for those prices. Sidenote…If you went to a mid/hi class French restaurant and ordered a burger, you have no business doing a food review.🤦🏾
Burger was still undercooked for me 😂 I like my burger 🍔 burned , grey , food network can tell me all they want how a perfect burger should be raw still . Believe it or not the burger scene in Paris is vast. Way more gourmet than one might expect. Thus, they're on point.
And then whines that it's overcooked. It's an "American Burger" of *course* it's well done

Funny thing is that burgers look cooked perfectly😮
if a place has a good bread basket…i’m eating two bites of dinner and asking for a box LOL
Smart strategy
Dude spent like 200$ and got cold shrimp and raw oysters, warm shrimp with warm lettuce, and a dry burger
It clearly isn’t for you and that’s ok.
I don't think I could eat the shrimp salad and a hamburger... The shrimp salad look divine!
