    I have a photo I took of Munden Lane where the car drives up to the ‘Home’ sign which I took 12 years ago when the call sheets first became public. Looked exactly as in the film with the fence and grass verge. They’ve changed it now. Also have photos I took as gained access to the exterior of Mr Alexander’s house in Oxfordshire if you’re interested.

    Hate to break it to you Jeremy, but I mistakenly thought the petrol station was the location for the old McKinney factory based on a really badly hand-drawn map of the parking lot in the call sheets that I photographed at The Kubrick Archive. I did a re-write of all the locations and uploaded it to Wikipedia (now deleted by admins) Sadly that error has propagated like crazy and appeared all over the Internet. Anyways, the correct location It turns out is where the building for 'Evolve Dance Academy', 'Jump In Trampoline Parks: Elstree' and 'Mega Jump' just a 100 yards south east of the Shell station. Great work BTW.

    Some town councils throughout Great Britain forbade local cinemas from showing the film . The film itself was shown in other cinemas for the best part of a year and a half ( I saw it on 3 occasions during that time ) before Kubrick decided to withdraw it from British cinemas only because of copycat violence .

      I went there too recently, I had a feeling some of it would have been demolished but you can't even access the walk now, however it does seem to still be intact with the steps and the walls. I just hope they don't demolish that too since everything behind has gone now.

    I took a pilgrimage to McDonald’s Chelsea to visit this location, I kinda remember seeing an old photo (during filming ?) that the steps at the entrance go down to the lower level, which is the basement eating area of the McDonald’s, so I assume that is where the scene is filmed ?
    While I was in the area (Chelsea) walking about, I accidentally (to my surprise) stumbled across the tramp bridge, definitely worth a visit if you are about.

      You must be referring to the derelict casino, the site of the battle between Alex's gang and Billyboy's. I read online that that was an old abandoned resort hotel, called the Karsino, on Tagg's Island in the Thames, which was demolished in 1972, a year after filming on 'A Clockwork Orange' wrapped.

  • @guymorris1963
    @guymorris1963 6 лет назад

    I'm 54, live in Texas, love A Clockwork Orange and can't watch it enough. I'd love to have my own public version of the Corova Milk Bar with euphoric substances blended in with the milk to help get customers ready for a bit of the old ultraviolence. What flavors of milk were available for Alex and his droogs ? Imagine if A Clockwork Orange was shown at midnight at public theaters and fans acted out movie scenes like in Rocky Horror Picture Show. Quite choice idea indeed. What ingedients were in the milk Alex and the droogs were drinking, any special ingredients ?

    • @barrymoore4470
      @barrymoore4470 2 года назад

      In the novel, we learn the names of four drugs used to spike the milk: 'synthemesc', 'drencrom', 'vellocet', and 'knives'. In the film, the first three names are reproduced in the decorative lettering on the Korova Milk Bar's walls. 'Synthemesc' is evidently synthetic mescaline, while Alex in the novel describes 'knives' as a stimulant consumed to fortify one for violent pastimes.

    I don't think you got the "Head-Dunking" scene correct - I was watching that clip and the start doesn't look the same (or show ANY resemblance), you walk a different path route and, before the dunking, they enter around a right-turn and behind the trough, there is a dip in the ground - the area where the cameraman thought it was (he EVEN said he THINKS he knows) wasn't the right area... I know, it's been 45 years since they filmed in that abandoned area but it wouldn't change that much/fast... you probably came across that path with the green pillars (your filming) and probably make a mistake - last thing, in the movie, to the right of the 'Land Rover', there's loads of areas containing grass and MANY trees (No man-made structures whatsoever), where you were, there were buildings and a car park; like I said before, even though it's been 45 years since the original filming, features about the location wouldn't change that much/fast... I'm sorry that you've gone through a LOT of effort but I'm NOT entirely convinced that that is the ACTUAL (100%-confirmed) location of the "Head-Dunking".
