Storm Corrie Amsterdam Schiphol | Crosswind Landing & Go Around Compilation

- Monday a week ago The Netherlands was hit by a big storm with 50 knot + winds by the name of Corrie. I decided to battle the elements and go to Amsterdam Schiphol hoping to catch some brilliant action of the aircraft fighting the 50 knot winds! And boy did it not dissappoint! I filmed 8 go arounds and there were a couple more of them too which I missed. There were go arounds from a Singapore Airlines 747-400F which after a second try diverted to Brussels. The Etihad B787-10 flight did an amazing go around and diverted to Brussels aswell after a long time in the holding pattern. And at the end of the day a Surparna Airlines 747-400F did the best go around of them all, just kissing the runway slightly in the process (not visible on the video)! Engines were screaming when it flew past me! There were also go arounds from a Delta A350, KLM narrowbodies and an Easyjet A320NEO. A highlight movement was the Icelandair B757-200 Hekla Aurora Borealis livery, a plane I didn't catch in almost 1.5 years! A couple of shall we say interesting landings were the Air Canada A330 and LATAM Cargo B767F, the latter also screaming away with its engines. There were also a couple of helicopters from the Belgium Air Force and Coast Guard bringing people to safety from two ships which collided on the North Sea. It was very challenging to film steady in these conditions but I think I did alright :P. Especially considering I now film without a tripod. It was fun to film at a couple different locations during the day too with landings at runway 27, 36R and 36C. The hard winds from the north west really created challenging circumstances for the pilots but I think you can see a lot of examples in this video showing how skilled they are. Glad to see all aircraft landing safely. Enjoy the video!
