@rondellbayne8854 Vaati makes great lore videos, but brothers code make better stories from that lore. Not like it's a competition, I binge both repeatedly lol
Thank you guys for compiling these videos. These are the best lore videos of anything I've watched before. I still listen to your ds2 video occasionally while doing dishes or laundry. It's so peaceful and full of love for the series, I'm grateful you decided to do elden ring as well.
Just wrapping up my first playthrough over the next few days. The second those credits roll, I'll be here to see what I missed. You guys always deliver 🙏
I’ve watch these videos even ones 13hrs worth and plenty enough of them to say I’ve seen and heard different versions of the same thing explained, but if I have to say which is the best, yours is very thought out, dedicated in a proper and great order, not skipping about in some random order when the story gets directed in many different directions, you stay on topic, bring in side stories into the main revolving around the topic, it’s amazing you only did this in 4hrs, definitely gained my vote, keep being great 🤝🏽
The music playing upon Rennalas Phase 2 gave me goosebumps. There is story telling, and there is Brothers Code story telling. The two are not the same.
finally, i have finished watching after so many setbacks, what an amazing video, i learned much of the lore of elden ring, would want to see a video on shadow of the erdtree, thanks for the great video and keep up the good work
I remember binging all of the other lore videos going through the games after playing Elden Ring, I cannot be happier this is out before the DLC, and cannot wait to see what’s added afterwards. You guys do incredible work that should never be underestimated.
i needed this cuz im just walking around the game now not knowing how to get to the main quest but i dont want to check guides and just enjoy the game as it is
I just want to say first of all I knew very little about Elden rings story and with this video I am way more in the know thank you for carrying these two work days can't wait to see what you do with the shadow of the erdtree dlc story
You forgot the part where the Tarnished snuck up behind Commander O'Neill and poisoned him, and where he stood at a safe distance while Latenna killed the Fire Giant with her bow.😅
Awesome video and all but why is it 4:44:48 bro you were so close to perfection but I will still watch anyways so i can dream play and be elden ring while im playing this dlc.
Big fan of how you end your sentences. I love how you do that weird inflection to make every sentence end the exact same way. It makes it sounds like you're reading out a list and I LOVE when narratives are told in such a lifeless way
This is just what i needed cheers and thankyou so much Brotherscode for providing this fantastic epic story of the lands between xo Rani is my favourite character xo

Thank you for this. It confirmed what I was thinking. That Elden ring is the center world where everything leaks out of into the other from software worlds
Marika and Radagon were once separate, Radagon is a descendant of the fire giants. They became conjoined at some point following the banishment of Godfrey and the tarnished. The giant red braid says Radagon hates his red hair and how it's a curse of the fire giants, red hair is mentioned over and over and is always linked directly to Radagon and fire giants. Marika is specifically referred to as being a Numen, a foreign race with no ties to the fire giants. Although we see few of them, none of Marika's children with Godfrey have red hair whilst some of Radagon 'always' do including Marika. This may imply that Radagon was not an element within Marika at the time. Given the recurring emphasis on red hair, Radagon and his children having it, and it being a 'curse' of the fire giants, I find it hard to believe there is no connection. Radagon was a champion waging war for Marika in Liurnia while she was governing the order in Lyndell. We know Marika personally engaged in combat before so the need for an alternate persona, and one of a "mere champion" status, seems redundant. Radagon was also a contemporary warrior when Godfrey was elden lord given that he is stated to abruptly leave Rennala when Godfrey is banished. Had Marika and Radagon always been the same, I see little logic in why these events would play out as they did. Marika could fight herself and if not she had Godfrey and a powerful army, the need for her to cosplay as a soldier is nonexistent. Radagon married and had children with Rennala while Marika married and had children with Godfrey. While marriage may solve a war, I can't see the reason why if Marika was Radagon at the time they would have children. The only argument I can see here is Marika having the foresight for banishing Godfrey and thus setup a replacement elden lord. If this were the case, however, she would've added three new contenders to take her place as empyrean. Marika consistently worked to keep hold of her position but had she such foresight, how could she not see her conflict with Radagon and Ranni destroying her order, one which she was faithful to at the time. Radahn was proud of his hair and it follows that he would thus be proud of how he got it, his father. Ranni became bitter and spiteful after Radagon left. To me, this sounds like a son showing off his parentage and a daughter feeling betrayed. (I have nothing on Rykard, in this regard.) Radagon also gifted the amber egg to Rennala before he left and he chose to forge their wedding sword into his Golden order great sword. This all suggests he was a decent father, had he not been why would Radahn be so proud of his hair and why would Ranni hold such a fervent grudge against him, Marika, and the Golden order? Likewise, this implies his marriage with Rennala was a good one given the gift, the sword, and especially how distraught rather than relieved Rennala was. This also shows how significant the Golden order was to him given his departure. Radagon is repeatedly stated to be extremely devoted to the Golden order, more so than Marika herself given the shattering. No other person would be as well equipped to take Marika's place than Radagon, mainly due to insurmountable conviction to the order. Radagon only left Rennala, an apparently fruitful marriage, after Godfrey was banished, the order needed an elden lord and who better than the most faithful champion who had already risen through numerous ranks? Zealous, unshakable 'faith' in this context would be far more important than strength, intelligence, or anything else. This seems to be the answer to Miriel's question on why a "mere champion" was chosen. (A pope turtle in a church asks why a man was chosen for a divine status, I say faith is a fitting answer.) Although Marika founded the Golden order, her faith waned whereas Radagon's never did. Interesting to note is how at the end we see the two completely fused and crucified, Marika is inert the entire time yet Radagon comes to life. This shows how Radagon not only took over but also martyred himself with Marika for the sake of the order, an act of unparalleled faith to said order. (We should also note that his hatred of his hair is likely due to its association and his heritage with an enemy of the Golden order.) Radahn's rune says he and Radagon's other children became demigods only after becoming Marika's stepchildren. Unlike empyreans which are stated to be chosen, the title of demigod is directly linked to divine parentage. Radagon's children are only have title demigod after they become stepchildren of a god. We find out that Marika is Radagon from a statue after using the law of regression incantation. Note the final line in its description, "Regression is the pull of meaning; that all things yearn eternally to converge." The fact that 'regression' and therefore 'convergence' is used suggest that two things are coming together. If they were always one, why would the necessary spell be one named and working under the specific concept of things conjoining? I believe this is showing that the nature of their union is one of convergence in the same way that it's revealed through casting a spell of dedicated to such convergence. (We can also note the alchemical inspiration here given the processes of mixing elements to create gold and the conjoining of Marika and Radagon as an attempted rebis, a being of perfection/gold.) Finally, the quote of Marika saying "Thou'rt yet to become me. Thou'rt yet to become a god" suggests they haven't fully merged. The phrasing of "become me" alone shows they aren't fully one and the same yet. If a separate statement or, as some suggest, a reiteration of the first it still states he is not a god at that moment whereas Marika certainly is. If they were completely the same entity from the start, he would indeed be her and a god albeit a different side of said god. The existence of this quote at all, let alone it being told in the location in Marika's bedchamber, implies its significance. The only reasonable argument would be that she means that Radagon has yet to become the 'dominant' personality given the last line, "let us be shattered both, mine other self". At this point, they are undoubtedly joined but in my opinion the former line contradicts the idea of Radagon having 'always' been this "other self". Had the two always been one, then Radagon would have always been her and would have been a god the moment she became one. With all of these points taken together and into consideration, I believe it makes the most sense that the two were separate at some point and later became conjoined into a single body.
We used a camera mod in combination with a visual enhancer mod which allowed for customisable brightness/contrast and depth of field for cinematic effect.
What if the flame of frenzy and the golden order were one and the same, just like marika is also radagon? Just basing this purely since 2 fingers + 3 fingers equals to a whole hand 😅

It isn’t that underrated considering the man can’t even pronounce ‘respite’ or ‘Ekzykes’ correctly.
Time to update with a Shadow of the Erdtree chapter
I love the citation of quotes from the game to support your explanation. Sometimes lore videos seem like all conjecture, no evidence. This is great.
