I think he was thinking of 'The Rescuers' rather than 'Rescue Rangers' for a moment... the proposed TV series for which ended up being Chip 'n' Dale's Rescue Rangers.
chip and dale have been around since the 40's. him getting confused over the rescuers and rescue rangers is fine, but chip and dale were a separate show even before either of those were out.
"D-d-d-danger walks behind you There's a stranger out to find you! Oh what to do just grab onto some Ducktales! " "KEYCHANGE!" -Luke Had to laugh as hard as Ellen at that point
I played the Castlevania Advance Collection lately and I abused the heck out of the rewind feature whenever I'd make a stupid mistake and end up dead, or when I was low on health and trying to reach a save point to heal up. Makes the game shorter, sure, but it also makes them way less frustrating. I don't have the patience to go through hard areas/levels over and over anymore.
Daring duck of mystery, Champion of right, Swoops out of the shadows, Darkwing owns the night. Somewhere some villain schemes, But his number's up. Darkwing Duck... Come on Oxtra, you know what to do.
The Danish version was nicely translated, his tagline "Let's get dangerous" was translated to something akin to "Risking the feathers", which is a play on the Danish saying "to risk the fur" meaning having the guts to do something risky/dangerous.
Luke: "Alright alright stay focused. Stay frosty. Ellen you're not staying frosty." Ellen: "What?!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" I feel like we just got a 1st class peek into the minds of OutsideXtra
This brought back some seriously good memories of when I used to play chip and Dale with my grandma, who owned an original NES. Thank you for the nostalgia. Even though grandma isn't here anymore, it is still a very happy memory. Thank you very much.
I remember playing this game also as a kid. I also remember two things about it: first, I loved the show it was based off, and two, it was hard. The enemies didn't give you an inch if you messed up.
"What kind of animal is Chip n Dale?" - a chipmunk? "I threw that tomato....." - isnt that... apple? "I want to get the star." - why don't you.... rewind maybe? *Luke and Ellen singing to the theme songs* - awh, they reminds me of my nieces and nephews.
This is the sort of quality entertainment I love on RUclips. Luke singing the Ducktales theme tune. Although I am upset we didn't get a rendition of the chip and dale theme.
Loved this game as a kid. First OxBox/Oxtra let's play I've ever watched Also with Luke being able to do the jigglypuff voice and knowing all of the ducktales lyrics, I'm convinced there's nothing he can't do
Hahahaha, this is amazing; I used to play this back when it first came out! My older brother and I used to troll each other so hard with the body-blocking, throwing each other off cliffs, advancing the screen upward to kill the other one, etc. You're missing all the secrets in the boxes!
Wow this video brought back a lot of after school cartoon and Saturday morning cartoon memories!! I'd recommend a video where Luke and Ellen watch the opening themes to 80s, 90s cartoons. Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers and Darkwing Duck are my favorite =D
Ah, wonderful old games ~ In this episode Luke sounded like he is in retirement and needs nurse Ellen to "rewind plzzz" haha WE (or well, I) want to see you play Ducktales :D Luke already started singing the Ducktales theme so i think it would be great!
I used to play all of these games (and many more) on my NES when I was like 4 and I picked them up for my Retropie a few years ago and still love them. So happy there is a remake box now.
This game had completely left my mind until I saw the robot dog and the broomstick thingy boss and I remembered that I had this game. Awesome memories flooding while watching this.
This game involves co-op where you throw boxes and stuff at dogs and accidentally KO your buddy, who relies on you to revive them, and it's intended for kids. I'm not sure about you guys, but if I played that with my brother there would be a lot of not-accidental KO's...
16:02 Ellen, you sneaky little devil :p (Also, was I the only one expecting Luke going from the "Listen carefully", into "I will only say this once" in a bad French accent?)
OK, I am stunned that you know all the words to Duck Tales, Luke. I lived through that & watched it after school, and nope, I have flushed those particular lyrics from my brain.
....Okay, this went from cute disney game to purgatory for Chip and Dale. No matter how often they are eaten, electrocuted or...impaled up the bum by cacti, they simply cannot die. They are forced to relive the moment over and over again. There is no end to the torment.
5 year old me is shaking my head at these two. Me and my cousins would demolish this game, and that was back in the day before we had these new fangled contraptions like rewind
Justin Hoar It's a testament to how soft modern gamers are and how easy developers create games nowadays. These old games have simple mechanics that require mastery of said mechanics in order to beat them, and you were limited to a set number of lives/continues. Most newer games give you unlimited tries at very small intervals, with little to no consequence, giving the player far less of a challenge in comparison.
Justin Hoar meh, at least nowadays I can get through a game without getting bored a couple of stages into it because of needing to repeat a stage too many times. also, who has the time for all that when they're not twelve anymore?
I'm not sure which troubles me more: that you two are probably too young to have watched Rescue Rangers on the actual Disney Afternoon, or that the opening sequence brought back all the confusing feelings I had for Gadget when I was a kid.
You're probably wrond with your first idea (if i had to guess i'd say that Luke and Ellen are about my age and i definitly witnessed the glory days of Disney animated series) and your second thing there is nonsense - Gadget is a nerdy, good looking girl, so nothing wrong with that. ... okay, she is also an animated mouse, but meh ... details ...
Ah man I remember beating this game as a kid. My brother and I could never get the hang of the co-op but we both beat it in single player. We didn't work well together....
I love you trying co-op. I'd like to watch you co-op a DS game. 'save me Ellen....' 'nope... nope.. no.... ' For additional fun, add spiders.... Sorry Ellen :)
And now I have the Ducktales theme song stuck in my head. Happens quite often. Meh, whatever. Ducktales! Woohoo! (and now it's stuck in your head too!)
In which two adults demonstrate such an illiteracy for 8-bit visual language that they need to look up a FAQ during the first level of a childrens' game. IN MY DAYS. PIXELLATED SNOW. UPHILL ONLY ONE WAY BECAUSE NO SCROLLING BACKWARDS.
"Ellleeeeen, I diiiieeeeed... Rewind plzzzz" - Luke Westaway, 2017
Outside Xtra kkkkkkkkkkk
20:25: "Ellen, I died...drag me to safety!"
Once you're dead, I think you're a little late to reach safety.
Lol .... I used to love annoying people by singing chip n dale songs at a work edit: and everywhere else
chaz and dave is the shit
I don't understand why Oxtra has fewer subscribers than Oxbox, they're basically the same thing.
"Ellen, I died" will be on Luke's Gravestone.
Fat Cat, Kippers evil brothers, who left adventuriing for a lif of crime and tuna.
"Intense googling"
I laughed. I cried. Another part of my childhood heavily sighed.
'I thought we were mice?'
Luke has been summoned to court to face charges of failing his 90s cartoons, don't worry.
I think he was thinking of 'The Rescuers' rather than 'Rescue Rangers' for a moment... the proposed TV series for which ended up being Chip 'n' Dale's Rescue Rangers.
... a valid defence.
The Rescuers was a motion picture.
chip and dale have been around since the 40's. him getting confused over the rescuers and rescue rangers is fine, but chip and dale were a separate show even before either of those were out.
Well he does say much later "we're not CHipmunks who play by the rules" or something like that. So he figured it out quickly.
YES! more of this, always glad to revisit some of the classics especially with you guys!
"D-d-d-danger walks behind you
There's a stranger out to find you!
Oh what to do just grab onto some Ducktales! "
"KEYCHANGE!"
-Luke
Had to laugh as hard as Ellen at that point
I think more games should have a rewind button. Life could use one too.
Karis V Life is Strange, why doesn't it have one?
SSX does, but you’re score goes down the longer you rewind.
Saw this when it was first uploaded. Watching these lovable goofs muck about again with the game brightens my mood so much!
Luke's new catchphrase "Ellen I died"
Luke:"I thought you would be a weapon"...Ellen the weapon of mass destruction XD
Daring duck of mystery,
Champion of right,
Swoops out of the shadows,
Darkwing owns the night.
Somewhere some villain schemes,
But his number's up.
Darkwing Duck... Come on Oxtra, you know what to do.
He's still my favorite superhero.
i have some of the episodes on DVD

The Danish version was nicely translated, his tagline "Let's get dangerous" was translated to something akin to "Risking the feathers", which is a play on the Danish saying "to risk the fur" meaning having the guts to do something risky/dangerous.
isn't that the ramrod code
YES, I love the Duck Tales singing at the end Luke!!
Face palm... "What kind of animal is a Chip and a Dale?" You're Chip-munks.
The not-so-annoying kind of chipmunks.
Luke: "Alright alright stay focused. Stay frosty. Ellen you're not staying frosty."
Ellen: "What?!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
I feel like we just got a 1st class peek into the minds of OutsideXtra
Ellen's laugh is so genuine it makes me incredibly happy !! :D
This brought back some seriously good memories of when I used to play chip and Dale with my grandma, who owned an original NES. Thank you for the nostalgia. Even though grandma isn't here anymore, it is still a very happy memory. Thank you very much.

Luke- "I've died Ellen, it's all up to you"
Words we don't wanna hear before the end of the world
*giant spider rises from the abyss,*
Ellen,it is up to... ehere did you go?
*Ellens gone faster than the flash*
"What kind of animal is Chip n Dale?" - a chipmunk?
"I threw that tomato....." - isnt that... apple?
"I want to get the star." - why don't you.... rewind maybe?
*Luke and Ellen singing to the theme songs* - awh, they reminds me of my nieces and nephews.
but for real tho, these games were my "Dark Souls" childhood.
Woot for all of the laughing. So happy you all got to play these. And then the singing hits again. SO glad the other team did not shush you.
OK, I'm early, I should probably make a joke.
Why did the scarecrow get a promotion?
He was Outstanding in his field!
Because he is out standing. He is the best in his field. Tremendous. Believe me.
"Ellen, I died." Quote of the day.
Outside Xtra should have a karaoke series. Just saying.
That is an excellent idea.
As Oxbox said in the april fools episode, they do indeed sing a lot.
It'd get copyright flagged though.
Be careful using that rewind. You might cause a tornado in Arcadia Bay.
TOO SOON
prongs43 I'm shattered:_(
prongs43 that game annoyed me, only got to like the second stage.
Cunnysmythe I'm sorry to hear that. I was in love with the game, but I can see how it wouldn't be for everyone.
And then be forced to pick between Arcadia Bay and Luke.
I'm positive that half the things Luke does is just to make Ellen laugh
Yeah, send rodents to find a cat, that will end well.
This is the sort of quality entertainment I love on RUclips. Luke singing the Ducktales theme tune. Although I am upset we didn't get a rendition of the chip and dale theme.
Ellen losing it and devolving into "Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh" is the funniest thing I've ever seen on this channel
I used to play this with my sister when we were little. This bring back memories. Thank you Outside Xtra :)
Loved this game as a kid. First OxBox/Oxtra let's play I've ever watched
Also with Luke being able to do the jigglypuff voice and knowing all of the ducktales lyrics, I'm convinced there's nothing he can't do

That was the most iconic key change since Never Had a Dream Come True
Wow this video brought back a lot of after school cartoon and Saturday morning cartoon memories!!
I'd recommend a video where Luke and Ellen watch the opening themes to 80s, 90s cartoons. Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers and Darkwing Duck are my favorite =D
Ah, wonderful old games ~

WE (or well, I) want to see you play Ducktales :D Luke already started singing the Ducktales theme so i think it would be great!
Dale getting no love in that pole. His brother gets all the love, no wonder he has a Chip on his shoulder.
Oh man, I'd love a video of Luke and Ellen just singing because it's always great when they do that.
I used to play all of these games (and many more) on my NES when I was like 4 and I picked them up for my Retropie a few years ago and still love them. So happy there is a remake box now.
This game had completely left my mind until I saw the robot dog and the broomstick thingy boss and I remembered that I had this game.

The joys of co-op games. They don't want you to beat them as much they want you to beat your partner. Did you ever play Battletoads?
Me and my friends continously picked each other up and tried to kill each other. It was truly glorious
I NEED MORE!!!! I MUST HAVE MORE OF THIS!!! BEST.THING.EVER. You guys are awesome! Day.made
I never played these games but seeing you play really made my day
Ahh the nostalgia is strong with this one....
I think it's been 25 years since I last played Chip 'n Dale. I have fond memories of that game.
Right in the feels. Chip n Dale and Double Dragon are the first games I ever played.
Luke singing the Duck Tales theme song was amazing 🤣
16:02 Ellen, you sneaky little devil :p
(Also, was I the only one expecting Luke going from the "Listen carefully", into "I will only say this once" in a bad French accent?)
I'm loving Luke's new catchphrase!
Outside extra, I love how energetic you guys are! Haha! it's great!😂
Oooh my God. Bring back childhood memory. Play them aaalll. Pleasseeeee!
That little singing at the beginning was everything
I had this game as a kid. I played it so much. I loved it.
I grew up playing this game with my friend. I feel hurt, wounded even, watching you fail so much. And with Rewind button. =\
Still I love you guys. 💗
Luke - 'Ellen stay focused'
Ellen - 'Aaaaagggghhhhhhhh'
Hahahah
Also "What is a thing... and what isn't" is one of the best philosophical questions of the episode :P
Rescue Rangers was the first game i ever bought. I was 7 years old and had saved up my allowance for weeks. The nostalgia factor is high.
OK, I am stunned that you know all the words to Duck Tales, Luke. I lived through that & watched it after school, and nope, I have flushed those particular lyrics from my brain.
Please play more of these, this was so much fun! :D
And now the Duck Tales theme is stuck in my head. Thanks guys.
Yes, play more. I laughed so hard at this video. I mean, not AT it, but WITH it.
great choice for 4.20 video. nostalgia.
"I've got electricity up my bum!" This is the kind of quality commentary we demand here at Outside Extra.
....Okay, this went from cute disney game to purgatory for Chip and Dale. No matter how often they are eaten, electrocuted or...impaled up the bum by cacti, they simply cannot die. They are forced to relive the moment over and over again. There is no end to the torment.
Great, now I'm reminded of that time oxbox sang ducktales... Thanks oxtra
Jesus, I grew up with these games. So good to see them again.
That rewind ability is so cheap tho.
5 year old me is shaking my head at these two. Me and my cousins would demolish this game, and that was back in the day before we had these new fangled contraptions like rewind
Justin Hoar Same here man... same here. the little kid in me yelled at my phone too much in this lets play.

SMH. When they tried to put the ball in the robot’s hand instead of hitting the green head. SMH.
@AlbertLara they grew dependant on a targeting system
Pick up the metal marshmallows!!! 😂 I loved this game when I was a wee one.
I love Ellen's laugh
Rewinding all of Lukes progress after death, Ellen? You are officially my new role model.
Luke's rendition of the Ducktales theme was on point.
I loved this game when I was young ^^
I love this channel also Ellen you laugh like a crazy person
Aww man I was hoping they'd play the moon stage theme while looking at the music!
Must play again JUST for that!
u guy are just so perky its insane
i LOVE IT
Luke and Ellen are truly the best. 😂
Luke has a new catchphrase. Ellen, I died. I want to see them play Darkwing Duck. Because he's awesome.
I'm not sure which troubles me more: that you two are probably too young to have watched Rescue Rangers on the actual Disney Afternoon, or that the opening sequence brought back all the confusing feelings I had for Gadget when I was a kid.

... okay, she is also an animated mouse, but meh ... details ...
love this game... more modern games need rewind !!
😁😁😁
My favorite thing about Chip and Dale is Chip dressed like Indiana Jones and Dale like Magnum from "Magnum, PI".
I remember playing these games when I was a kid. Back when game developers didn't care whether or not you could actually finish their games. lol
Ah man I remember beating this game as a kid. My brother and I could never get the hang of the co-op but we both beat it in single player. We didn't work well together....
😅 Ha Ha! I love this!! Please do more!!!
I love you trying co-op. I'd like to watch you co-op a DS game. 'save me Ellen....' 'nope... nope.. no.... '
For additional fun, add spiders.... Sorry Ellen :)
18:22 is still one of my all time favourite Oxtra moments. 💜🦆
First of all, Chip and Dale were chipmunks. Secondly, PLEASE PLAY DUCK TALES! I was 12 when Duck Tales came out and loved that game. Thanks!
I loved this game as a kid
Proof that 80's and early 90's games were very difficult
"what kind of animal is a CHIP and a dale" ... you take your time, Flamingo Commander...
Ellens laugh is so damn pure
And now I have the Ducktales theme song stuck in my head. Happens quite often. Meh, whatever. Ducktales! Woohoo! (and now it's stuck in your head too!)
This is my childhood right here. All before things like adult jobs, adult bills, adult responsibilities, adulting period.
"key change!" 😂😂😭😂
Ellen is just so adorable
KINGDOMS OF AMALUR!!! NOW!!!
pls
*ahem*YYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEESSSSSS! Or at least that was until Luke was not singing the official Rescue Rangers song! Cmon maaan!
I love ellen's laugh
19:50 To be fair in Dutch it's Kwik, Kwek and Kwak...and Lizzy :p
In which two adults demonstrate such an illiteracy for 8-bit visual language that they need to look up a FAQ during the first level of a childrens' game.
IN MY DAYS. PIXELLATED SNOW. UPHILL ONLY ONE WAY BECAUSE NO SCROLLING BACKWARDS.
I mean who DOESN"T try to pick up absolutely everything just to see what it will do?
I just watched two adults play cartoon games for 20 minutes. What am I doing with my life?
All the right things.
James0m liar liar 👖 on 🔥
Great things.
Have you tried watching them play mousetrap? there's a vid of that somewhere.
The best thing you could've done right now.
what kinda animal are Chip and Dale? THEY'RE CHIPMUNKS!!!! CAAAAAAMAAAAAN!!!
In memoriam for Chip and Dale and their mysterious magical time manipulation device.
