aww thank you! making friends for me took a little while because I knew absolutely no one. like no one from my high school went, but having a good roommate is always a plus, and just getting out there, being social, going to games and events, and even meeting up with people in your area who are also going to uh before you head off to college is always a good idea. AND INSTAGRAM WILL HELP YOU OUT TONS!!!! good luck girly:)
Hey sorry for such a late response. I didn't like the school because I didn't like the educational program they had, it just wasn't the right fit for me. I also definitely got island fever and felt more like a year long vacation spot rather than a place I see myself living in for the next 4 years. it's different for everyone but it was a great experience to have and I don't regret getting the experience :)
hey! no it's not too bad. i actually bought a lot of furniture/decorations in hawaii, brining your stuff from home can be expensive and you'll need help from others but overall it's not bad.
hi, i love your vidoes 💙! i just got in to uhm and it is one of my top choices! i was wondering how easy it is to make friends because no one i know is going there. also, do you like the school?
Hey thank you, and congrats! I was also in the same position and didn't know anyone going but for me it took a while to make friends but when I did they were great ones. I also have a really good relationship with my roommate and we get along well which helped a lot. I'd definitely recommend reaching out to people through social media cause you can always meet up with them in Hawaii if you end up going. I personally did not like the school, and I won't be attending next year but it was an amazing experience and I do know a lot of people who really enjoy it out there.
Hey, only one building has air conditioning which is Frear Hall; I personally don't know any freshman living in that hall but all the other ones don't have any AC. and I would say it depends on what side of the building you're on as well as the day because some days the room will be really hot but then sometimes the wind will be really strong but I would recommend getting at least 2 fans because you're not allowed to get AC in the room:)
Hey to my knowledge you can't have animals unless it's a service animal/therapy animal, but if you do end up committing i would definitely email the admissions or even the student housing.
Hey! I’m thinking about going to this school. I live in PA right now, so if I do end up going I wouldn’t have a car. Is it easy to make friends and would I need a car? Thanks!
Hey! personally I would say it takes some time making friends if you don't reach out or know anyone going to the same school but you will definitely be able to make some great friends. getting a car would be nice although you have to pay for parking, but you get a free bus pass so that may be cheaper but having a car will be nice to go around the island.
hey! personally living in the dorms it was really hard to find parties and the school in general is known for not being a big party school. but if you're looking into a school witch a big party scene i would not recommend UH.
thank you!!! i've never walked before but you get a bus pass from the school that goes along with your student id and it's about a 15-20 minute bus ride so it's not too bad.
hey it's not hard to get it at all as long as you meet their requirements, definitely if you've been in clubs or sports, or even volunteered places i would definitely add that in.and thank you
mmmm, i would definitely recommend the freshman hale aloha towers if you want to be with all freshman, lokelani seems to be the sporty one with all the athletes, mokihana is a bit crazy, lehua is where i live and it's really friendly like all the people in the tower get along well, and ilima is probably the quiest one out of all of them. the only downside is there's no air conditioning in the freshman towers but living with other freshman is something i highly recommend. hope this helps you out:)
Is it true, you have to live on campus your first year?? Also how is this school? I was considering it bc it's close to where my mom is moving (we live in NY but she bought property a couple islands over) and it seems like it has good programs, I would do marine biology
hey no, it's not true that you have to live on campus your first year, a lot of people I know commute but it would just be a lot more convenient for you to live on campus your first year being able to make friends in your dorm building, getting familiar with the campus your first year makes everything easier. it nice and I know they have a really good marine bio program. :)
@@juliapark1212 Aww!! Thank you so much!! A couple of my friends and I made plans so after we graduate we would live in Hawaii together (I know it's years away, but we've been best friends since middle school) and we'd love to go here because it has all the programs we would want! (And money isn't an issue.) Thank you again though! This is honestly our/my dream school :)
hey not at all, I was actually a pre nursing student for my first semester but I switched out to elementary education because of all the new things I learned about the nursing program.
julia park oh if you don’t mind me asking, what new things did you learn that made you switch out? im interested in nursing and uh manoa is one of my top choices so i appreciate the info
Grace Lansberry of course! so basically i went in as a pre nursing student instead of direct nursing, i basically took the same courses as direct nursing students but when you take your nursing exams there are a lot of requirements and as a pre nursing student they only take about 15 out of 300-400 students after your sophomore year to go into their direct nursing program and if you aren't on of those 15 you have to switch your major right away and that may set you back a bit. that's why i decided to change my major.
This is great, I got accepted and UH Manoa is one of my top choices. I’ve got to make a decision pretty soon and I think I’ll end up there
no way thats awesome!!! and congrats
hey same with me! it's between here and CSUMB!

I’m going here in the fall, just curious as to why you didn’t like the school?

Your channel is so underrated you should be famous like Your video was a ViBe
UH Manoa is my dream school. Is it hard to get all your stuff there if you don't live in Hawaii?

julia park Are there mailboxes on campus? So I could order packages while I’m there.

JULIA I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!❤️ Love this so much, have to come visit you soon hehe
hi julia! really loved the vid and you have a new subscriber! I was wondering which hall this is? the bathrooms look nice!

Im a student ms.thompson
i love this! are freshmen allowed to drive / bring cars to campus?
