The urge for morty to follow her and then realizing she’s not as good as he thought. Yeah we were young.. I feel bad for Summer in this episode. She seems the most lost in the family. Morty is becoming more defined and confident as a character/person. Summer seems to be willing to risk it more. Probably because of her age. I first heard this song 7 years ago, on a stolen radio, early in the morning when I should have been asleep. it was in my dreams for years until I could remember enough of it to search and here I came. it was only after watching that episode of rick and morty that all those feelings I had the very first time I heard and fell in love with this artist all came flooding back to me in an instant. the very first second of it that played I instantly recognised and could not believe what I was hearing and of all places no less. @@Nevusis yeah, it was a similar level of quality to something you would expect from a Christmas cracker, but it worked. That's why I had no problem stealing it, because they wouldn't miss it
Man. I want to thank everyone who made this song. The way the music is set up brings me back to the worst moments in my life but it doesn't mean its a bad thing cause its the most human i ever felt. Its those days after someone dies (my girlfriend back than) its when your in this zombie state. The ticking of a clock that echos and is 10x louder you cant stop the time. People talk to you and it echos in your head, you know what they are saying but your head doesnt know what to do with it so it echos in your head. And at one point you loose it, no modesty, no holding back. And you start screaming your emotions out and break every piece of furniture in the House. Something you would never do but at that moment everything comes out and in that moment you are the most human you will ever be, nothing can hold you back. Thank you. Thx for capturing that feeling in music for me.

The Creators comments on the story in the video: In the video, a puppy wakes up to find himself on an island full of abandoned creatures and objects, a world removed from its former self, according to Ishibashi. “What destroyed it is non-creative, pre-civilized thinking - represented by numbers and letters. The puppy can remember a fantastic world, but the one he’s in now is devoid of life and color." Much like a Kishi Bashi melody, the story unfolds with compounding urgency. Toward the end, the distraught puppy drowns in an ocean of his own tears, swallowed by neat blue waves. It’s a narrative that happened to presage the death of one of Ishibashi’s closest friends, and he’s dedicated the video to him. “He drowned while we were on tour. It was terrible,” Ishibashi said. “I had shown him the video and he was a huge fan of it. I’m not superstitious, but I think emotionally I made a connection after the fact.” The creation of the ocean ultimately restarts the former world, recursive in the way of all things Ishibashi, from his musical loops to his chosen stage name. “There is death, but the cycle repeats itself,” Ishibashi told us. “The world comes back like a phoenix.”
Yea it’s crazy how in this video they’re talking about a split up in a relationship because he died just like how in Rick and morty morty was going through a breakup 💔😔
This song gutted me. The episode was so good, and I started tearing up while the episode was ending (wasn't expecting that, HA!) and I had to find this song. Then I found this video, and I am just gutted. This hits so hard. Almost 40 years old, and I don't know when the last time I felt this way. When music speaks to your soul. I have listened to this song now for a few weeks since finding that episode and this song initially, and it still hits the same. Thank you Kishi Bashi. Thank you for nourishing my soul (and dare I say so many others) with your amazing talent.
Same. Haven't had a song hit me like this since I was a kid. It reminds me of when I saw Watership Down and there was a song in it at a certain point where it's kinda a given that you're deep in the feels, this was like that. Amazing song.
At 2:30, the way the music builds up and flows out afterwards portrays exactly how crying feelings, that buildup of powerful emotion that you cant hold back and just bursts out This whole video is a masterpiece, from what I get from it, it kind of feels like one of those dreams where you keep jumping through different events, watching as they unfold but unable to change or stop them from happening
We all know how this went down: you were sitting at home, waiting to get some good giggles out of the new episode. Then you were devestated because of the overwhelming sadness that came over you. Then you shazamed. Bingo! Now you are here.
I don't have Shazam. And I hope for episodes to touch me as much as some episodes did (even when I was shocked sometimes like in the early episodes where Beth shoots the dude she thought was a clone, I don't remember his name). So yeah, this episode was touching. I wasn't devastated, I'm just hurt emotionally because it reminds me of how it's hard for me to be anything other than weird. And to not be socially inapt. So I'm sad because emotionally I am alone. I struggle to share it when I'm emotionally hurt. There's lots of things I hardly can talk about. So, yep. I just don't use Shazam but youtube instead.

There’s a theory that all of season 5 follows the timeline of evil morty. Beth is an alcoholic again, Rick seems less dominant, Mortys back interested in Jessica, ext. I totally buy it
@@willstratton775 Very possible. The next episode in a few weeks is an hour long, and the preview shows Rick and Morty having a fight. There's been a lot of tension between them the entire season.
It’s funny. This music radiates sadness, but at the same time it comforts me. I don’t know why it so deeply touches me, I believe it is because of my own personal connection, but it is truly a work of art. Only a handful of songs can make me feel the way this song does. Bring back memories and feelings I thought I lost and at the same time make me feel safe and heard. It’s truly incredible.
Reminds me of some Cold Play songs......it's very much mood music......and the people I was with (my parents) the last time we were together, having ice cream in the summer, pretending to be a happy family before my father died......that's all intertwined with the Cold Play music, similar to this offering.
@@susannahfox7188 I literally can’t listen to most songs of them anymore because I wanna save them for a “special occasion”. Don’t know if that special occasion will ever come tho.
Came here because the song was awesome in Rick and Morty, then got led down the rabbit hole of who this song is really for. This song is so beautiful and I'm so glad they were able to share their story and music with many more from the help of a TV show.
I first heard this song my sophomore year when I asked my crush what her favorite song was. This song was played a lot of nights that year. Hearing again in that episode really hit me. It brought back memories of countless hours throughout the night playing league with her. Walking home after school even though she rode her bike. I would hint a lot I liked her but she didn't feel the same and we grew apart. Thinking back on it now I was too young and naive. I'm happily in a relationship and am deeply in love with my partner. But this opened up so old wounds. Christine if you see this, I'm happy we met and I'm happy for you. I hope you feel the same.
You remind me of myself dude. Same thing happened to me. Love is pretty great, and I'm glad you found it. Hopefully this song helps a lot of people like us find love as well. I've learned that not a lot of people are capable of caring like we do. What you've expressed here is pure love, and it always makes me happy to see someone else living life to the fullest. Shout out to Miranda with the sweaty hands! lol. I hope you found love! Our prior interests probably won't see this, but it feels good to think maybe they might, lol. Have a good night dude!

I still come back to this song to cry it’s linked to certain memories that hurt but I’d never want to forget, it’s such a beautiful song and the music video is like the cherry on the cake
Kishi Bashi, after researching this song and learning the lyrics/story… it touched me in the heart. Thank you for such a wonderful piece that the creators of Rick and Morty reached to use in the Planetina episode. Everyone thanks Rick and Morty for bringing them here, but in the end, without you, without this wonderful work of art, none of us would be here.
I find myself here again, I don’t think this absolutely stunning piece of art will ever not shatter me completely to pieces. I still can’t believe, yet appreciate so much, that it came to me through R&M.
My son Christian Ryder Bishop drowned on the 4th of July 2020. He was pronounced dead on the 6th. We almost saved him. Some people say that was the worst year of their lives. The way the world is now, makes me feel like he is the lucky one. Christian was born on Christmas 2014. The dedication at the end of this song really got me. I had never seen the music video, just the album cover version. This song helped me let it all out after I finished my military contract. Here it is again on the anniversary of my sons death, helping me get it all out again. I'm not sure who wrote this, but I owe them more than most will understand. I have a Bengal Tiger tattooed on my arm. The Bengal Tiger represents strength against all odds/adversity, it is also symbolic of peace, love, and tranquility, as well as humility. I grew up near Fort Worth, and would often visit the White Tiger that sat in the window of his enclosure. The White Tiger is, or was blind, so he was always in the window. I guess he liked the noise. The tiger, like this song, has left a lasting impression on me. Life is probably going to get worse before it gets better, but with the strength the tiger gives me, I will press onward no matter what. Thank you for helping me threw this gift of life, and for helping me let it all out.
Stumbled across this song recently. Did not pay much attention to it until I heard it again and thought I heard something about the Antichrist. So, I searched for the actual lyrics to this song and boy! For those who care to know the meaning of this song and why one has such a mesmerizing feeling when listing to it well this is my take. The lyrics are extremely profound and whoever wrote it must have been inspired by something out of this world. “The song starts off with the chorus: Who are you? Who am I to you? I am the antichrist to you fallen from the sky with grace into your arms race” The line starts off with a question by none other than the devil himself or antichrist or any of the other name's he has gone by throughout the ages. Fallen from the sky with grace into your arms race Is telling of when Lucifer was thrown out of heaven because he led a rebellion against God with 1/3 of all angels in heaven. He did not fall down from heaven with grace but rather was thrown out and came crashing down to earth where he strives to cause all manner of strife and terror for mankind. He hates man and can’t stand the fact that we were created in the image of God and initially he had to serve man. The first stanza: “Lucid lovers me and you a deal of matchless value I was always quick to admit defeat empty statements of bones and meat” Talks about the relationship man has with the Devil, how through sin and lies the Devil has tried to make a deal with the souls of man to turn against God and follow him. A deal of matchless value, - to trade ones soul for the things the Devil has to offer. I was always quick to admit defeat, statements of bones and meat - is talking of how easy is it for most men/women to fall for the lies and tricks of the devil and follow him. The next stanza has multiple meanings, “And my heart it shook with fear I'm a coward behind a shield and spear Take this sword and throw it far Let it shine under the morning star” And my heart shook with fear, - tells of how fearful the Devil really is despite all of the show and masquerades he portrays. I am a coward behind a shield and spear, seems to be talking about how the Devil hides behind war and defense. To take this sword and throw it far, let it shine under the morning star - seems to be referring to the AntiChrist who will one day shine for a brief time, with demotic power from the Devil himself. By the way, the Devil was once called “morning star, son of the dawn” The chorus repeats itself. Then the next stanza: “One for my heart and two for show three tears for all the souls below” Is referring to the fact that man consists of 3 parts Spirit, Soul and Body. And that the Devil is after the souls of men for himself his heart. The fact that the other 2 parts are just for show tells you his contempt for mankind. The final stanza: “One day we made them into figurines burned them all with all my favorite things” Its a very brief summation of the history of mankind. One day we made them into figurines, tells of how God made man in his own image in the beginning to have dominion over the earth and rule it. Of how sin entered the earth because of the tricks of the Devil convinced man to disobey against God and as a result a separation between man and God exists. Of how some 1 - 2 thousand plus years from now God will destroy the earth and everything in it and create a new heaven and a new earth. The chorus repeats itself twice then ends. So that’s my interpretation of the meaning of these lyrics very profound!
Middle ground. Its open to interpretation however you see fit, but I'm an atheist. So I could see how this analysis could offend someone. I think broken down, ironically, this song is indeed about passing judgement on some level or another
very interesting, I didn't see it in a religious context even with the obvious references. I saw it as a metaphor for the relationship of two lovers: rocky relationship, unrequited love, hiding your love in fear of rejection, hurthing the person you love most even as you try to give them confort
This episode has to have been my favorite so far. Not only does it develop our characters, but it also hits as I leave my young teenage years behind. Thank you Juan Meza-Léon and Rob Schrab for directing and writing this episode.
My favorite episode. It revisited Morty's trend with relationships ending sour, and showed Morty's increased independence from Rick. He's starting to forge his own adventures.
Absolutely spot on about Morty. He is stepping out of Ricks shadow and he knows it. It hurts Rick too, he is acting like it doesn't and that's why he takes Summer along but he is losing his right hand man. The show is developing into something so much more than people even realize.
@@DubDeuces I'm starting to realize too. Maybe the show isn't about 'Rick and Morty.' Maybe it's a backstory for Evil Morty before he became what he was.
@@DubDeuces You think that could be the reason why Rick has become so toxic, abusive and mean spirited towards morty? Seriously i don't know if that's intentional or not. I kinda miss joyful Rick from seasons 1-3.
@@jadjason6053 This is a really good point actually. Even though Rick says he doesn't care if Morty goes on adventures with him or not deep down he does. He has done his best to keep Morty isolated but the kid has to venture out on his own once in awhile and experience things for himself. We could see a shift over the next few episodes where he does his independent thing while Rick takes Summer with him on missions

The Creators comments on the story in the video:
In the video, a puppy wakes up to find himself on an island full of abandoned creatures and objects, a world removed from its former self, according to Ishibashi. “What destroyed it is non-creative, pre-civilized thinking - represented by numbers and letters. The puppy can remember a fantastic world, but the one he’s in now is devoid of life and color."
Much like a Kishi Bashi melody, the story unfolds with compounding urgency. I’m not superstitious, but I think emotionally I made a connection after the fact.”
The creation of the ocean ultimately restarts the former world, recursive in the way of all things Ishibashi, from his musical loops to his chosen stage name.
“There is death, but the cycle repeats itself,” Ishibashi told us. “The world comes back like a phoenix.”

I dont think I have ever cried just hearing a song the episode really was a great one truly broke my heart😪
“The song starts off with the chorus:
Who are you? Who am I to you?
I am the antichrist to you
fallen from the sky with grace
into your arms race”
The line starts off with a question by none other than the devil himself or antichrist or any of the other name's he has gone by throughout the ages.
Fallen from the sky with grace into your arms race
Is telling of when Lucifer was thrown out of heaven because he led a rebellion against God with 1/3 of all angels in heaven. He did not fall down from heaven with grace but rather was thrown out and came crashing down to earth where he strives to cause all manner of strife and terror for mankind.
He hates man and can’t stand the fact that we were created in the image of God and initially he had to serve man.
The first stanza:
“Lucid lovers me and you
a deal of matchless value
I was always quick to admit defeat
empty statements of bones and meat”
Talks about the relationship man has with the Devil, how through sin and lies the Devil has tried to make a deal with the souls of man to turn against God and follow him.
A deal of matchless value, - to trade ones soul for the things the Devil has to offer.
I was always quick to admit defeat, statements of bones and meat - is talking of how easy is it for most men/women to fall for the lies and tricks of the devil and follow him.
The next stanza has multiple meanings,
“And my heart it shook with fear
I'm a coward behind a shield and spear
Take this sword and throw it far
Let it shine under the morning star”
And my heart shook with fear, - tells of how fearful the Devil really is despite all of the show and masquerades he portrays.
I am a coward behind a shield and spear, seems to be talking about how the Devil hides behind war and defense.
To take this sword and throw it far, let it shine under the morning star - seems to be referring to the AntiChrist who will one day shine for a brief time, with demotic power from the Devil himself.
By the way, the Devil was once called “morning star, son of the dawn”
The chorus repeats itself. Then the next stanza:
“One for my heart and two for show
three tears for all the souls below”
Is referring to the fact that man consists of 3 parts Spirit, Soul and Body. And that the Devil is after the souls of men for himself his heart. The fact that the other 2 parts are just for show tells you his contempt for mankind.
The final stanza:
“One day we made them into figurines
burned them all with all my favorite things”
Its a very brief summation of the history of mankind.
Wowww, love this
@Tom Reid someome definetely took a piss in your cereal
Middle ground. Its open to interpretation however you see fit, but I'm an atheist. So I could see how this analysis could offend someone. I think broken down, ironically, this song is indeed about passing judgement on some level or another
Also, one would have to assume his religious beliefs and not using lyrics as suggestive metaphors. Is all
very interesting, I didn't see it in a religious context even with the obvious references. I saw it as a metaphor for the relationship of two lovers: rocky relationship, unrequited love, hiding your love in fear of rejection, hurthing the person you love most even as you try to give them confort
This song is so beautiful and i find comfort in knowing there’s so many of us hurting souls out there.
This episode has to have been my favorite so far. Not only does it develop our characters, but it also hits as I leave my young teenage years behind. Thank you Juan Meza-Léon and Rob Schrab for directing and writing this episode.

I keep returning to this song over and over... it's just too beautiful.
Just saw rick and morty season 5 episode 3 so.... yeah checking out the whole song now lol
Well...

WHY HAVENT I HEARD THIS BEFORE, I AM LEGIT GOING TO CRY AT HOW BEAUTIFUL THIS IS MANE
I feel like I'm flying through the vastness dark of the dark night sky, surrounded by beauty that's out of reach. The wind is cold, I hear it rushing, I feel it deep in my bones, I am content, I am resolute. I will soar
This has to be one of the best songs of all time. I'm not kidding
“If that’s the only way, I dont want to be saved”
That episode is full of strong quotes like that one.
But this is one of the strongest.
People with good taste in music and Rick and Morty fans unite!
The Rick and Morty fans could have taste and the people with taste could be Rick and Morty fans you never know
I can't believe I didn't discover this earlier tbh
Found this song 3 yrs ago and it still feels like the first time I’m listening to it.
Who are you? Who am I to you?
I am the antichrist to you
fallen from the sky with grace
into your arms race
Lucid lovers me and you
a deal of matchless value
I was always quick to admit defeat
empty statements of bones and meat
And my heart it shook with fear
I'm a coward behind a shield and spear
Take this sword and throw it far
Let it shine under the morning star
Who are you? Who am I to you?
I am the antichrist to you
fallen from the sky with grace
into your arms race
One for my heart and two for show
three tears for all the souls below
One day we made them into figurines
burned them all with all my favorite things
Who are you? Who am I to you?
I am the antichrist to you
fallen from the sky with grace
into your arms race
Who are you? Who am I to you?
I am the antichrist to you
fallen from the sky with grace
into your arms...
