    I am currently replacing "very outdated" valance left by previous owners; from about 20 yrs ago, with trellis style pattern. Someone gave me this fabric, super, super lucky on this steal! I was going to add a pleat in middle, but I like the contemporary modern style with the geometric pattern. Thank you for helping me figure out how I am going to finish with trim and side corner pleats only. Fabulous DIY tutorial! ❤❤❤
    Also, love the makers mill tutorials on your fabrics page

    Great job! The options to make this valance either with a sewing machine or as a no-sew appear doable. Thanks for sharing.

    It turned out lovely but I felt it you made it more complicated than it needed to be.

    Could you do this again with some details, I could never tell where you were when folding, tucking, or glueing You refer to things as this piece or the other piece???

    Will this be difficult or inadvisable to do on a very wide window? My widow is 148 inches wide.

    I had to keep stopping and writing notes but it got too confusing. It would be a good idea to post your measurement and we can use that to make our own since some of the measurement won't change. Would love to make this since I just moved and need to do window treatments.

      +Linda Bober Thanks for your feedback! You can find the full written instructions with pictures on our site: www.onlinefabricstore.net/makersmill/how-to-make-a-no-sew-valance/
      Having it written out along with the video should make it easier to follow with no notes needed! :)

    Yes too simple but too fast 15inches here there xxinches here there n cut cut cut. Too fast n then iron iron iron. Then it becomes complicated n confusing n i was lost somewhere in space.

      Yes, we agree it's a lot of details to fit into a video of a reasonable length, which is why (for all our videos) we have a written version too with photos: www.onlinefabricstore.net/makersmill/how-to-make-a-no-sew-valance/
      Hope that helps!

    I'm an older person who loves what you do. I mean I watch every video you put on RUclips, but this one... oh my goodness... I clicked off after the 1min mark - it got totally confusing and intimidating for anyone wanting to learn to sew. Maybe the videos need to be ranked by difficulty... I don't know. Again, I love the videos you post, but this one left me running with scissors screaming.

      +Bunny Wilson Thanks, we really appreciate the feedback! I'm going to be doing a blog post on this as well, which I'll link to in the video when ready. With the combination of the written instructions, photos, and video, hopefully it will be easier to understand! We want these videos to be the best they can be, so your comments are very helpful.

    ouch! - too simple but so simple you get lost because all I kept hearing was cut cut cut and a jumble of inches - not enough "show" step by step - not a good video

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  9 лет назад +1

      +jmarylastone Thanks for the feedback! I really do appreciate it because we want these to be as easy to understand as possible, and knowing what to improve helps.
      I went through the measurements quickly because everyone's measurements will be completely different. You can pause on the diagram at the beginning which is meant to show how the pieces are put together and how to find your own measurements. I'm also going to do a blog post on this, which I'll link to in the video when ready. Hopefully by seeing written instructions and photos, along with the video, it will be easier to understand!

    This was quite possibly the worst tutorial I have found. After struggling to make the valances I gave up when it came to the installation instructions and am having to do something else. A waste of time and fabric!
