This video was very informative and detailed...Love the finished work! It's assumable to know that you'll need to have those nifty tools on hand if you're looking to make this cornice along with other projects... TFS!!
This was a great tutorial on how to make the cornice. I followed you very closely. I made mine straight to go over a large dining room window and it turned out great! Wish I could post my pictures!
You're a BEAST at these cornices!!!! I know the video was sped up but the process remains the same!!! Damn, I strive to be like you someday. I was tired simply watching 👀 Amazing work! Thanks for sharing. 🤗
That is just beautiful. I have three windows in my back room. They all sit within inches of each other, however the middle window is clearly the size of a double window. I only have blinds in my home. I want to make a cornice board and am looking for a suggestion. Should I do 1 large cornice board or 3 individual boards? Please advise.
You are my new hero! Now I just have to buy a router and learn how to use it as well as a few other tools. I can do all the sewing parts and have done some cornices with wood and foam core but I love your method of creating curves!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Do you ever hold any workshops? I would sign up. :-)
I absolutely enjoyed this vid. I do upholstery and ever so often I get requests for cornice board/lambrequins. They are the best thing ever for a window treatment.
Nice end product, but lots of work to do it!! Not sure if I would want to replicate this particular cornice method as it is very time consuming and needs a lot of tools that might be costly for a one time project. But, she took a lot of time to show the viewer each and every step and that is helpful!
Beautiful! I love this video! One suggestion, I know you are comfortable with using a nail gun but some DIY'er might not be. I would recommend not angling the gun towards your face. I am excited to give this a try.
Awesome video. I was wondering how to determine the height of cornice board, my kitchen window is 77 inches wide by 38 high? Any suggestions will be appreciated.
As a 45 year professional carpenter, routers "kick back" both directions as the bit spins in a circle and could catch the wood on either side of the bit. It could jump either way. A Table saw and circular saw "kick back" not so much a router. Routers "climb" into a cut.
What is the tool you used from Sailrite called, I cannot find one anywhere?

You can find the tool here - www.sailrite.com/Sailrite-Canvas-Patterning-Ruler
Wonderful technique. I haven't made a cornice in 30 years. You make me want to do one. 🥰

I'm working on something similar. You should do 1 longer board to cover both windows.
I have this same exact window setup and I’m still undecided if to do one large cornice or 3 individual ones

Thank you for sharing. What kind of fabric do you recommend for cornices?
Dang! You don't mess around. You got it down. Fine job.
I tried this method, only routing the front, and my cornice came out great!!!
Is there a way to determine how much the height of the cornice board can or should be?
