Excellent insights, here! Wow! Thank you, Kristen and Jeff for taking the time to share❤ The growth will take care of itself when we lay the proper foundation ✨️ As Lord Chesterfield said, "I recommend you take care of the minutes (ie, leadership, program, environment, etc) and the hours (ie, the health, growth) will take care of themselves"

As a student of YMGA, it’s great. The monthly calls are worth it alone, but the extra supplies and instructions with detailed info is clutch.

Congratulations Merab Joy Gujon!! Amazing episode. I am still trying to crack the egg of volunteers. I do not know if it’s a geographical or cultural area of concern. I have embraced focusing on what I can control, slowing down and build one area at a time. Not everyone passion is my passion and what inspires me does not inspires others. The Bible even says the harvest is plentiful but the labors are few. Thank you so much for the encouragement!

I took over a youth group several months ago. It’s really small - usually 3 to 4 students a week (if that). It’s just me and I don’t have any other adult leaders on a regular basis. I just signed up for your growth accelerator program and I’m excited to learn from that. Any advice on what I can do to help foster growth?

How do you get leaders to want to be in community with each other? My leaders have jobs, families etc. any time outside of the 90 minutes once a week is a hard sell

Great question! A few of my leaders don't make it to our fun nights (for the reasons you said). But the majority of them do! I always figure plan it and enjoy who can come. I guess I don't know how "to get leaders who want to be in community" I just create community and see who shows up! If it's fun and life-giving they will keep coming and the culture will start to set. Hopefully eventually people will want to be a part of it!

You have leaders in that stage of life? Or are they mostly single, young adults?

@@theblacklines I have a mix...a lot have jobs & families and there are others who are younger & not yet married. A lot of the younger ones still have jobs though.

Organizing and administration has been my weakest area. I know it’s the most important because when those things are defined and done properly, it frees me up to do ministry and not be distracted by the things that are not ministry. But honestly, it’s hard to stay focused on those things because I’m relational and paper and computer screens are overwhelming. I need help.

@mtdiscipleship - you aren't alone in that struggle, as it is difficult for a lot of pastors...but fortunately, it is a skill you can improve. What specific aspects of organization and administration do you struggle with the most...Planning? Communication? Scheduling?

@@MinistryCoach yes but because I get distracted on things that aren’t as important as they need to be. I’m in the process of gathering my leaders and working with them.
