Can the quest 3 be connected with bluetooth to headphone without delay this time? I mean if you can spend billions on virtual legs this problem should be easy to fix or not? Till now i think it's a briljant device but i don't like his parents Mark and Bozz. Bahahaha
No such thing as zero lag Bluetooth. Even my M2 IPad has Bluetooth lag, making playing music with it impossible with Bluetooth. I do think that 5.0 lag should be almost as short as the lag you’d get from VR movement, or at least close enough that it might not be noticeable.

There was an issue about bluetooth headphone delay in quest2 because they used cheap bluetooth module

There's a reason people are still mad about the loss of headphone jacks on phones. They sound like trash. You have to spend 100+ dollars on them just to get something that sounds like a 15 dollar pair of Skullcandy buds.

I think for the price this headset is a home run! It's got basically everything everyone asked for. Only thing missing is eye tracking.

Ya, but eye tracking is mostly for social and business apps. For the 500$ price tag, in my opinion, this is a phenomenal headset for everyone 😃
And oled screens.
@jimbob9086 oled screens are not very good. The Mura effect and grainy screen are the most common problems on oled screens.
Yeh, at first I was really sad when I found out quest 3 will not have eye tracking. But seeing as no one is really making games for sure tracking, I don't mind it anymore
Nice! Glad to see standalone graphics catch up a little more. I'm tired of people saying "Graphics don't matter!" If you really believe that, go read a book. Gaming is a technological medium, and a visual medium. Graphics are the most direct artistic and immersive expression of the medium.
I would say presentation and polish matters the most. This could include graphics or art direction. I think people say this when referring to photorealism. Upgrades in graphics still matter when it comes to stylized visuals though. I think the Quest 3 will be the tipping point for more realized games. At least I hope so.
My favorite thing about the quest 2 isn’t the graphical upgrade but that they added shadow now 3d worlds won’t look as flat as they used to.
There’s a good amount of people who still like comparing the quest systems to any PCVR headset or even the PSVR2. I don’t get it, do people actually LIKE having cords around them? The absolute freedom with a stand-alone headset is crazy. Plus, if you invest in a good router, you can ALSO have PCVR without any cords!!! To me, THAT is true immersion
Just wish they made a non-standalone version specifically for PCVR. Could be a bit cheaper or reinvest the cost into better screens inside.
META earns more with standalone especially with games being sold directly from their own store… thus it may not be an immediate possibility they will remove the standalone features/capability anytime soon
So you’re saying you’re too cheap to actually go buy a real PC headset because you want a cheap metal one which they’re not gonna do that so you might as well just fork out the money and go buy a PC headset like everybody else does or else you’re never gonna do VR
@@Paul-ng4jxthere’s no good PCVR headsets available. Pimax Pico, Aero, Bigscreen - nobody has heard of these companies! None of them clearly excel above the other. I’m not gonna trust them with a ~$1k purchase. Quest 3 seems to me the best option for PCVR atm

Quest 2 FOV feels horrible to me and the pancake lenses should make things alot clearer in general

@@rangerkayla8824 yeah i have a 7800xt. I know nvidia is usually better for VR but I should be at the same level as your 4070 with that said. Im thinking the base visual uplift will be alot better, and thheeen we Crank it Up on PC.
Man, the reflections have me wishing they woukd go back and remaster Robo Recall to bring it up to the PCVR standards.

If we get livable bluetooth latency with the Quest 3 it will be life changing for people with wireless headphones like me, super hyped to see when it gets here, but I'm still kind of skeptical we'll get it.
I don’t think they will as they are supporting RAZER earbuds hyperspeed that use a 2.4ghz or higher connection to reduce latency :/
At least we're getting improved speaker quality built in, should hopefully make up for it@@SteveKnows

I can look at the original graphic which a game studio elaborated when I see it in Meta Quest 3. I look forward to using it.

It's actually closer to 2.6x more powerful for GPU intensive games, which for VR, that's almost everything

It's looking good but we have half decent hardware with the Quest 2, software is what we need, can't really think of a game or app thats native to Quest I'm looking forward too to be honest if I did not have a decent PC for the VR I would have give up on it a while back now props to the PC modding boys & girls they are the ones keeping the scene alive.

I hope so but Mata seem more interested in hardware and not software, thought for a video stand-alone only ports for the quest's, I have just been on sidequest and Team Beef released a mod for Prey (2006) in September only just caught on to it, just copying the PK4 files for the pc to the quest so I can play the full game later there are quite a few of these now would be cool to see a round up of them.
I feel a lot of this is about how they had to hold Q2 things back due to Q1…
The Quest 3 games are looking more like PCVR games.
7:59 it appears that the depth and optical sensors sensors don't work together well when objects are super close causing weird distortion.

@@meursaulty6672 It's great. The views are immaculate. Lots and lots of locations all over the place. Both US coasts, Japan, and South Korea. There are a bunch of difficulty levels. If you're looking to chill, you can use floating bait. If you want to work for it, you can use lures. It's a great game.

The problem with comparing q2 and q3 apps is imo they'd fix alot of mistakes along with the update; it's hard to know what is due to more power and what is just better...

The pass through is looking good. I look forward to the future for pass through. I'm not that excited about the game rendering. It's better than before but not worth making games exclusive to standalone for me.
I hope Moss 1 and 2 get an upgrade patch.

Would have made the headset $700 base price and thus COMPLETELY killed it dead in the marketplace on day one. 🤷 There's a reason PSVR2 is still +$50 MORE expensive than Quest 3 despite lacking a computer & battery in it and having last-gen shitty ass Fresnel lenses. Eye-tracking simply still costs a FUCK-TON! (It basically raises the product's final MSRP by ≈+$150-$200, BY ITSELF!)

I put on my quest 2 yesterday ( haven't used it much in a while ) and goodness the clarity is not that great.
Can't wait to receive my Quest 3 on the 10th.
And what about the games? Playing bad games even with 4k per eye gonna change it to a better game.
@michelverheijen6643 Games on the quest 2 looks ok still. But the overall clarity of everything in the quest 2 is noticeably just not that great. Having to try to adjust my eyes to the " sweet spot " often is a bit bothersome.
Even when I am in the sweet spot, the clarity of basically everything is just ehh. It's ok.
So the quest 3 with these new pancake lenses and higher resolution is gonna be a great step up.
@@SuperEliasTM and again. Watching a bad movie on a 16k television gives you still a bad movie. It's not going for the oscars because of better visuals.
@michelverheijen6643 I'm well aware. I have said nothing to suggest that I'm expecting an " Oscar " level change for the Quest 3 or their library.
They certainly offer a significant upgrade that I am excited for. Especially for AR. I use my quest primarily for my work. I use the pass-through feature 80% of the time.
It's gonna be nice to have a much better image of my surroundings while I work instead of a grainy black and white image.
I'm excited for my purchase.
@@SuperEliasTM i develope 3d also with gravity sketch but it still can't replace 3d software available on pc. So i use pc more to clean it up. I don't think android vr can be used for quality work. And if you use it for excel and words it's still not worth it.

I tried the headset today. The passthrough is lot worse then I expected. The colors are still very washed out and more like the first generation of smartphones then a current smartphone sadly... The lenses are a lot better and I do like it is a lot smaller.
The Quest 2 and 3 comparison videos were both captured from the Quest 3 using an emulation of what should appear on the Quest 2. There are likely less polygons on the Quest 2 version.
I'd really want to know how good is the new Elite Battery strap from Meta. Is it worth getting?

Oh snap. Yeah, it's a night and day difference in that case. Not just the color but the clarity. Q1 pass through and even Q2 is a fuzzy mess.
Me too. Was the cheapest way to enter pcvr at that moment and oculus team was running the show. in that time i didn't know facebook had other plans. After 1 year of quest 1 and rift s. Facebook decides to take over the oculus team and replaced them with facebook employees. Came with quest2 with forced facebook account and dropped pcvr. Pcvr didn't even got a change for people like me. They say pcvr was not the moneymaker. But quest 2 in 3 years? They still lose money. Guess a lot of new quest 3 adult buyers gonna use it for pcvr. While kids don't upgrade because their parents say those games run on their old device too.
For Quest 1, the passthrough will be like going from an abandoned rusted playground to Disneyworld.

They'd look basically the same, games will only look better when the devs update the graphics for the quest 3, if you play a game on the quest 3 that doesn't have a update for it the only thing you will notice is slightly better resolution and better fps
Graphics can't make gameplay what a waste of time. I'll make it simple. There isn't much game on meta vr picking which meta depend on how much u want to waste. Graphic aren't shit on either one because it still looks good regardless plus ur playing a vr games don't expect so much from graphic because it's gameplay
They have a bigger impact in VR although they do not make a game I agree but they can make something crap tolerable haha
so basically the quest 3 cant necessarily handle that many things that are a higher poly count (or at least, developers arent going to remake these models with a higher poly count) but it can now have much more in terms of lighting, foliage, and particle effects.
as someone who *mostly* plays VR Chat I feel a little disappointed that the one thing that would make my life easier (higher poly count on quest models) isnt something this upgrade holds, but oh well. I honestly cant wait to look through the lenses myself.

I've seen many people who are concerned about pass-through distortion. I'm curious✨
Would it be possible for you to test the diffence in speed/latency in connecting the quest 3 on wifi 6 versus wifi 6E. Might be important for wireless pc gaming using link or VD. If a noticable difference one might consider buying a wifi 6e router ...
100% once I got my hands on one at home to test :)
Unless you're dealing with a lot of crosstalk on your current network it likely won't be very noticeable. Wifi 6 is already low enough latency that it's only 1 frame behind real time at 90hz. It will help if you're in a congested area though and have to deal with packet loss and such.
besides latency is the speed for wifi 6e not faster compared to plain 6 ?@@Thezuule1
Hi Steve! There have already been reports of lens quality issues on Quest 3 similar to Quest Pro. This is perhaps due to a phenomenon called IPS glow, where you get a brownish haze in the periphery or corners of the lenses when in dark scenes. It is not clear if it is a problem with the panels, the lenses or both combined. It seems that some people have had this worse than others on Quest Pro and Meta exchanged their HMD's without problems.
Have you experienced this issue?
I had to return 3 Quest 2's before I got one with good lenses. I don't want to go through that again.

no, it is not. They don't come close. The Quest 3 can be compared to a ps3, which is still impressive
@@chrikkei think his point is you don't need a ps5 to play on the quest. People without ps5 have to spend like 1200 dollars not including games if they want to use psvr2 compared to 500 on quest 3 which is rather close in graphics now at this point, more game titles too.
@chrikke As far as graphics and pixel count the quest 3 has more pixel count than the PS VR 2. Only difference is one has oled lenses And the other one has LCD lenses
@@ianwatson5767 the Quest 3 is not at all close to PSVR2 game graphics. I am excited for the Q3 and preordered the 512gb version, so don't get me wrong, it is still a great headset, that can do pretty incredible stuff like upper body tracking.

@@tranger79 The Quest 3 has better optics, so in terms of resolution it will look a lot better. The PSVR2 will still have much better colors.

We can have the best hardware to exist but if there aren't any games to play VR is gonna have a hard time. That's why I think the tail end of the quest 2s life cycle was so barren.

A 256Gb version from day one would have been the sweet spot and made perfect sense. Rather than waiting to see if it ever materialises, I just opted for the 512Gb model.
I was expecting ports of Lone Echo 1/2 for Quest 3 (at least).
I miss the days when new hardware came with new exclusive games to sell the hardware.
It would be great to see such a staple vr games many would not of played make it on the system! But not sure meta and echo devs are gonna work together these days
Those aren't new games though. There's a bunch of actual new titles releasing. They may not be exclusive to Quest 3 but there's no real reason for them to be just yet. It's going to be a minute before the Quest 3 install base gets big, and it may never even reach the numbers Quest 2 moved, so developers investing only in the smaller platform doesn't make good business sense.
Me too. Re4, assassin's creed ,asgard's wrath 2. Wow in 3 years and billions spend. Like i said before and before. Horizon worlds is their important baby. The games are just a farcade to sell it as a gaming console. Facebook needs data to survive not selling great games. But let's hope the vr studios facebook bought to screw other competition come with great games. And not cancelling their old games (echo vr) but till today come with nothing new. Ok from Sony i expected also more. But atleast they have 5 tripple a games available in 6 month.

Honestly just fell out of interest with VR, having my Quest 2 gaining dust next to my desk sadly.
But I have regained interest due to the new and very exciting release of the Quest 3, so I'm currently waiting for someone to buy my Quest 2 so I can get it.

All these graphics changes are things the Quest 2 can easily handle but they disable out of the box. If you use the Quest 2 on PCVR with Virtual Desktop you get all of these graphics upgrades with ease.

@@2D-rd4lu I'm just saying showing graphical upgrades from one headset to the other gives people a belief they have to upgrade to get those graphics as if their headset currently can never have it. I dare say 500 dollars upgrading your PC will go farther than a new headset.

128 for me will be chill, download speeds are good in my area if i am desperate to play something and i have no room. it snot often i play about like 20 vr games at one time

Hey Steve, I know the controllers are pretty similar to the pro controllers. But I'd be interested in seeing a comparison of how well the controllers track compared to quest 2, in death Unchained would be a good example (moving your controller over your shoulder to draw an arrow)
Not similar at all. Just form factor. They use totally different tracking method. The Pro uses IO cameras on the controller, while the the Q3 uses the same tech as the Q2, but without a ring.
