The problem with the United States is that solving global problems will weaken the power of the West. If you were in the position to dictate everything, you lose power if the other people have more prosperous economies. Power is a zero sum game. Power is ultimately based on the proportion of world economy you own. To resolve global issues means growing the economy of many developing countries. A more prosperous economy not only means better lives for their people. A more prosperous economy also enhances the power of these developing countries relative to the US.

Let's apply that behaviour in a smaller scale, says taiwan as a 3yo arrogant small boy in a family of 10 members and a neighbourhood of 10 households. It's like, taiwan trying to argue with the whole family members that he has the FULL rights as he thought he is an ADULT! That is how ridiculous this small boy (taiwan) is now in the eyes of Adult, and the arrogance of this small boy was flamed by an old uncle in the family whom is equally arrogant but insecure at the same time. The uncle is old fashioned and feel superior and often use his hierarchy in the family to bully other siblings (including father of the boy). As in a family affair, there'll be enough patience and limit for the adult to listen to unrealistic request of a 3yo boy, as well as enough reasoning to deal with this 3yo, however patience and reasoning are with limit. To this 3yo whom now turn 13 or 30yo, it's time the adult treat u like adult! U ask for it.

所以说马凯硕是外交战略大家。看问题都是从最大，最高的层面去看和分析。比如“ 没有一个国家可以得到一个超级大国永恒的支持和保证" 尤其是这个”超级大国自身面临诸多自己难以解决的问题时“ 这是一个很简单逻辑很严谨的判断。寥寥几句就画龙点睛勾勒出一幅清晰的图案。而台湾人就小鸡肠子太多了。就算台湾大学者苏起也难免。1.英文表达比较差。啰啰嗦嗦半天也没能把问题说明白。2.自身对美国社会了解一知半解却还要往死胡同里钻。老实说美国社会的复杂性就连美国人自己也未必能说的很明白。3.看问题总是从小处细节去罗列一些很表象的东西来证明。但自己都不知道已经陷阱了盲人摸象的囧境。
