Can you recommend a top quality Trout spey rod for a #3 and a #4 spey line ?
Hey Adam, we have been using our Project One Spey 4wt on the Missouri for the past several years and found it to be a perfect trout spey rod. We Recommend pairing it with a 240-270 integrated skagit or a 210-240 Scandi integrated. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions on the rod or setup let us the know! Why does shank fly not work for rainbow 🌈
We have found trout, particularly smaller rainbows on the Missouri tend to slash at a swinging fly which causes the hook to roll over on its side and does'nt stick. We have found 90 degree hooks to have a better hook up rate.
@@flyprojectusa if hook is rolled over, the shank was not tied correctly. What type of wire was used? I am heading out to MT in June, do you have a shop?
it rolls when they slash sometimes not all the time.. We do. We have a shop in West Great Falls and The Trout Shop in Craig, MT@@busterbuffalo5554
