Excellent video for microspey / troutspey 2 handers. Just got into trout spey after years of steelhead & salmon spey fishing which has declined recently. Recently got a G Loomis PRO-4X 5wt switch rod and lined it with the Airflo 330gr Rage head = super light setup to fish single handed and 2 handed and came back with 4 species of trout in the upper Uinta mountain last month. I do wish Airlfo would come out with an intermediate and/or triple density FIST line for these lightweight rods to extend fishing into summer steelhead, big browns, and deeper water presentation. Or I would be happy if Airflo would just come out with FLO tips (intermediate + sinking) for us trout spey anglers....

Guys near your advice please. I’m a steelhead fisherman . I use long float rods . I want to get in in to fly fishing . I fish I’m Wisconsin for : King , Coho salmon , and steelhead with brown trout . The Milwaukee river is about 25-30 yards wide . Which rod should I get ? Spey ? Or something else ? Which weight ? I need to cast 20 yards across with streamers and egg presentations .. would like it a longer rod . Thank you

I wish I was taught to fly fish as a kid. Patience runs short when your a little guy. If I was taught with a fly rod my hands would have consistently been kept busy and boredom would never have set in.
Maybe better to title this Trout Spey Tackle Basics.
