I just replaced mine in my 94 caprice wagon. I also relocated it away from the engine to avoid future issues with it heating up. I drilled out the rivets and mounted it on the fender. My only issue is the longer spark plug I had to make, I made poorly hahaha.
I soldered in extension wires, insulated them with electrical tape and then added that heat resistant plastic that can be bought at harbor freight. I wish I used heat shrink and crimp splices instead i think it would have been much easier.
