Asalaamou alaykum wa rahmatou Allahi wa barakaatouhou sheikh, this was a beautiful reminder and much needed. I have a request to make to please translate all the Arabic in the khutbah so as to ensure that all those who are not versed in the Arabic language to fully understand what is said and to therefore fully benefit from it so that nothing is missed all lost to some of the Muslims in the congregation or watching it at home online. I ask Allah to protect our sheikh and to grant him jannat al firdous and reward him for every reminder he has given us and which he fully explained knowing we desperately need these reminders for any success we may want to attain in our dunya but more importantly the success we would like to work towards for our aakhira. Jazakum Allahu Khairan 🤲🏻

Very powerful sermon Al Hamdullah may Allah bless you. I’d love to hear a sermon about choosing people that don’t make it their job to provoke negative reaction such as anger from you. Essentially if the cause of your anger, is somebody who rejoices in watching you be angry, yes, controlling your anger, and that situation is righteous, but isn’t it more righteous to get them out of your life?

Wa Alaikum Assalam wa Rahmatullah, Thank you for your question. Indeed, there are beautiful examples of how the Prophet’s ﷺ family and the Sahaba displayed patience and control in moments of anger or difficulty, often emulating the Prophet ﷺ in their behavior. One example is Fatimah (RA), the beloved daughter of the Prophet ﷺ. Despite facing numerous challenges, including the hardships of a simple life with her husband, Ali (RA), Fatimah (RA) demonstrated immense patience and relied on Allah in times of difficulty. Her conduct reflected the upbringing she received under the guidance of the Prophet ﷺ. Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA), her husband, is another powerful example. He once displayed remarkable restraint during a battle when his enemy spat on his face. Ali (RA) immediately stepped back, refraining from striking him. He explained that he did not want his actions to be influenced by personal anger, but solely for the sake of Allah. This act of self-control mirrored the character of the Prophet ﷺ, who always emphasized avoiding anger and acting with sincerity. Additionally, the Sahaba deeply admired and imitated the Prophet ﷺ in every aspect of life, including how he controlled anger. They observed and emulated his patience, humility, and forgiveness. The Prophet ﷺ himself said, “The strong person is not the one who can overpower others in physical strength, but the one who controls himself when angry” (Sahih al-Bukhari 6114, Sahih Muslim 2609). The Prophet’s ﷺ teachings and behavior were a source of guidance not just for the Sahaba but also for his family, who exemplified those teachings in their lives. These lessons remind us to follow their example and strive for patience and self-restraint in our own lives. JazakAllah Khair for reflecting on such an important topic
