Ustadh has provided with some extra guidelines, books and resources; here is a compiled guide: Rules To Follow: 1. Don’t Share Your Temperament Keep your temperament private as it is a very personal matter and the knowledge can be misused. Focus on self-improvement rather than external validation or judgment. Only share to maybe very close friends and family. 2. Don’t Ask Anyone Their Temperament Other people’s temperament should not be your business and avoid reducing or boxing them into a specific category. Everyone has all four in them anyway. 3. The ustad is so eloquent for the way he poised it and extra extra credits for the host of this podcast for giving ustad so much space and time to converse. This is what makes a podcast so great. Alhamdulillah. for this
42:47 You couldnt have described it in a more better way. Its all black and white thinking, Ive reached the point where its overpowered me. I loved how this brother mentioned that those kind of temperaments need to be more in touch with feelings, I'd like to say compassion, mercy for oneselves as well and being in line with the limits of our body and nafs. The whole point is this life is marathon not a run. To stay steadfast and have the will power and energy to do our best we must not go too ahead. This kind of thinking I found pulls you in to a never end cycle of overthinking. No feelings or recogniziton of the limitations as humans. Alhamdullah everything is a learning experience.
- To Note: 33:0347:5352:4355:22 - Take away: Look at and reflect upon oneself, it is a responsibility. Hold yourself to a higher standard than you do others. Look into the 4 temperaments and on how to achieve a balance between them, the prophet (saw) is prime example of this.
I don't normally watch or listen to podcasts and this was on my feed accidentally but really, it was super insightful. Really motivated to learn more on this topic! Thank you ustaadz.
I first went to his KY series earlier this year and honestly it opened my eyes to a lot of things and helped me understand myself better. What I initially thought was my temperament completely changed by the end of day 2! I would highly recommend his classes, he has many including knowing yourself, vitality refined and fortifying the self. Vitality refined was a transformative 6 week class based on 6 lifestyle factors and how adjusting those will allow us to balance our lives. Fortifying the self takes you through Prophetic duas/sayings to read morning and evening, taking you through the meaning and helping you connect it through your heart too. Would definitely recommend. I've only just started seeking knowledge but I'm already reaping the rewards. My skin is slowly clearing up, I'm more active and these classes have helped me in so many ways.
@JoBlogz wsalaam these lifestyle factors are discussed in his class called Vitality Refined. They include: Seasons and Air, food and drink, retention and elimination, physical activity and rest, mental activity and rest, sleep and rest
@JoBlogz there is a reference to the humours in the class knowing yourself when going through the history behind it and how the 4 temperaments relates to them. I myself haven't done much study into the humours
I absolutely love listening to brother Ishaaq. His humor is 💯 you can hear it even in the spaces between words he speaks. So unique. Makes learning Islam so much joyous. Is there a place I can go if I wish to attend his live classes, like online?
He travels quite frequently but if you search up his social media, there should be info about where he's going in the near future. I believe he's normally based near Manchester.
