In “The Voice of the Silence” we are told to kill our desire. Yet surely it must have some purpose. If we look closely at the obvious and subtle forms of desire, we may discover both its purpose and the dangers that threaten our Inner Self. We may also discover how the most subtle form of desire, spiritual selfishness, can harm the work of the Theosophical Society. By examining the nature of desire, we may learn to use it rightly. Presented on January 13, 2011.
