This show blew my mind. The way the role of protagonist and antagonist kept shifting between Joe and Beck was really good writing. Beck is a good, but damaged person who used, lied to, and took advantage of Joe at every turn. Joe is a murdering psychopath, but did so much to stabilize Beck's life. Really bizarre dynamic, but worked so well for the show. Still a bit shocked and melancholic that he (presumably) killed her.
Observer 75 Hes not so much of a psychopath , (as the writer claims) (or sociopath) he probably has a mental disorder and makes him obsessive resulting in what he does to people around him. He also wants the perfect girl, (not gonna spoil s2 idk if u have seen it) so when he finds out Beck cheats and is damaged. He stops loving her.

She didnt deserve this. I actually hated the way they shown Joe being sad at the end. Yes, he loved her, BUT HE STILL KILLED HER. I thought she changed him, guess not. I liked Joes character till he killed her. Anyway, amazing show, cant wait for second season
I think joe was sad in the end because even if she was dead he still loved her with all his heart , she gave him no choice he was either that or prison for him i think it was an impossible choice at the end , and should i remember you that beck would have died under a train if it wasnt for him he gave her a second chance and even a third when he left her in episode 7 , i personally think that the biggest mistake that he made was killing candace boyfriend that was the only wrong thing he did in my opinion but that's just my opinion, anyways thanks for watching the video!:)

Watch how beck slaps joe with her words. "You're broken I cannot love you. " so i think that sums it up to all that joe giving his freedom (i.e going to jail for beck's findings) will never going to be worth it because she cannot love her just what she stated

i was thinking that maybe beck isn’t dead after all. the body we saw him disposing off at the end of episode 10 could’ve been paco’s stepdad. we never actually saw becks body. he didn’t kill candace after everything so i believe there is a likely hood that he didn’t kill beck.
cate yeah, no matter how fucked up they and their relationship was, this show did a great job of tearing you apart internally in terms of how to feel about it. hoping she’s alive too despite what happens in the book and somehow it works out between them. wouldn’t feel right without Beck and with Candace who hardly anybody seems to like
Perry completely. i was constantly changing sides. sometimes i was really rooting for joe, sometimes beck, and my opinion of the two would constantly go back and forth. despite everything, i always felt for joe throughout the show - up until the end. then when he started treating beck the way he did, hitting her, locking her in the cage ect i lost so much respect for him. i can’t wait for season 2 but like you said, it won’t feel right with beck being replaced by candace. we were lead to believe for the whole of season 1 that candace may be dead, so im hoping we’re being lead to believe that beck is now dead but she makes an appearance in season 2. fingers crossed :)

One of the best series i ever seen
The ending of You season 1 made me the most i've ever been depressed honestly... I usually never watch tv shows/series cause all it takes is a few moments for "them" to ruin a perfectly good show. When I watched episode 1 it filled my heart been a heartbroken person myself I finally thought I found "the series" to make me feel better but instead it hurt me even more ,watching season 2 felt as though someone put a heated knife through me when beck approached joe in the cage was unbelievably sad and when he says goodbye to her it actually made me cry...it was a really sad ending and killing beck equals killing the entire show for me watching season 2 was torture it wasn't as suspenseful as season 1 and because of the horrible goodbye the show gave to beck. 💔💔💔

We never even saw Joe cry after Beck's death. It felt like the relationship was ended just like that with no remorse from Joe's side. I hope we get to see a flashback in season 2.
I think these two have the best chemistry out of all the bullshit awful tv show couples and that’s the reason we actually like them both. It’s sad he had issues because if he didn’t I genuinely think they’re a great couple
Very well done! The show is in the point of view of Joe so it's hard not to sympathise with him sometimes but this video makes you feel so bad for Beck. She just wanted to be saved.

The the original story he is a crazy and kills the people he believes are not good for her and then kills her instead. But it's not as romantic this way lol
@Rose I get that it's your own opinion but I think you're wrong. I think that young people watching this are seeing the lengths people can go to because of love and obsession, I think the editor of this did a beautiful job of making these two characters seem as human as possible despite the extremes one went to for the other. It's like presenting hope and optimism in the darkest stories or situations. saying they need Therapy is a complete over exaggeration that is not necessary.

In an interview Elizabeth Lail (actress for Beck) said that she didn’t quite know what she was auditioning for and had to read the book to actually find out more about the character Beck. That’s when she realised Beck was going to die... Elizabeth said that she was sad about Beck’s death but that it was “the right thing to happen” in that situation... I loved Beck so freakin’ much I really hope she returns to season 2 but unfortunately don’t think she is... I know the conspiracy theories are very much logical but Elizabeth her self said it in an interview so there’s nothing we can do then just accept that she died...

She actually changed JOE bcz he actually loved her and he didn't love LOVE in reality. We can clearly see he wants another girl even though she is alive and has his son, bcz Joe feels like prisoner or the thing she can control

I started watching this show about 3 weeks ago. I finished it in 2 days.... What a fantastic show. I found myself cheering for Joe.... It's like he really really really loved Beck and would do absolutely anything to make her happy... Crazy? Yes but romantic at the same time. I can't wait for season 2.

Beck really love Joe. The only mistake she did was cheated on him. It is just Dr.Nicky take advanatge of her vulnerability during her coping times of dead friend. And she regret it a lot and chose to stay with Joe not until she found the box.

Watched all 4 seasons I can say that this couple is still in my heart. Penn Badgley had only the best chemistry with Elisabeth Lail. I still miss this couple and their love story

i wish he would have let her live she loved him but was scared
I mean...
Joe's behavior was erratic, crazy, and obviously he was a stalker. Yet, he was doing it to honestly help her. I do not want to enable this behavior in life; but, in the context of this show, I thought he was a damaged soul that found another soul he sought to help the way he helped Paco. That is why Paco keeps Joe's secret, after all. That is why Karen fell for him. In reality, Beck is the toxic character in the show, and she was just as monstrous for her behavior. I only did find her to be as tolerable of character when she was with Joe, or took advice from him. Peach was, in some convoluted way, a more dangerous stalker than Joe. I hated her too. The other guy was so significant that I forgot his name right after Joe killed him. Overall, I do not think Joe should have killed anybody, and maybe he could have fared from some time in jail, which is how I thought the show would end. Still, there was something about the deaths of these characters that was somewhat of a relief because they are the same people that make life terrible.

@dflowers30 Peach stalked her in a manner that was just as dangerous as what Joe did. I honestly see your point but it still cannot be forgotten that every other character was just as toxic on their own, especially Beck. I mean, she cheated throughout the entire relationship (between flings and then with the therapist) and dumped JOE for being the wiser. That is emotionally abusive as well as mentally. That trauma, coupled with what he may have experienced with Candace, is what created his dark side. I'm not justifying what he did, but i can somewhat understand it. Beck was quite the antagonist. And for the record, he did leave and then she sort of took on the roll as his "stalker," so to speak. She was just as obsessed with his presence; either that or she is twice as toxic because she lost her hold on him. He was not completely right in his actions, but she was just as sinister to me as I watched the story unfold.
@dflowers30 I remember that this other character, the first boyfriend to Beck, killed somebody. It may not have been as calculated as Joe murdering him, but I certainly do not think it should get a pass. I think all the characters are toxic, but something about Joe is redeeming. He seems to actually feel guilt, remorse, and other feelings that humanize him. I am sure the author writes his character that way to blur the lines between a psychopath and a person who does bad things. I feel like this is what they do with all the characters. Joe is only as redeemable because of his emotional connections to his motives. Everybody else is cruel and selfish, and Beck is definitely one of those people. After all, HE left her alone when she asked. I just don't feel sorry for the nasty ways the characters behaved prior to Joe's encounters with them.
@dflowers30 Peach would have killed him first anyways. Benji felt no remorse either. I don't see the point in protecting their characters. But based on this, let's just agree that all the characters were poison. Beck was exactly the same with little quality to her character. About Mr. Mooney, I considered how he damaged Joe as a child, as well. I considered the psychological trauma Beck faced with her dad. Coupled with Peach and her parents, I gotta say that these characters are close to being one in the same. I still feel like Joe tried to rectify his worng doings more. The rest led lives of carelessness and terrible behaviors.
Love is Obsession and Passion. Loyalty and Trust. He would do ANYTHING for her...that line is the line of unconditional love. He killed her to protect himself at the end which was selfish. He wouldn't have done that if she loved him back and realized everything he did was to be with her and make her happy.

Btw you don’t have to explain to me that they’re disturbed individuals, it’s very clear when you watch the series that they have psychological issues. When I said he’s insane that’s just a figure of speech, I’m not a psychologist to know exactly what is his sickness, but I’m sure you understood. Joe clearly has childhood traumas that influences his behavior.

i feel like this show was just too much, joe had an ok character up until he killed beck, if you actually loved her you would let her go and not care what happens to you, but instead he chose to kill her to protect himself. the ending just overall pissed me off, beck was so strong her whole life fighting males taking advantage of her and it would have been a better ending if they showed her being strong again standing up to joe and going to the cops. what makes joe think killing people that were close to her would make her happy or love him more? i honestly lost brain cells from that, it doesn't matter if you did it for someone thats just too far. also your editing is beautiful!
also throughout the whole show i enjoyed watching joe and pacos relationship grow but at the end it made me so mad.
To me it was sad that he killed beck at the end and the music choice just made it even sadder when they reveal that she died I think that’s what makes it sad but if she would’ve lived and if he would’ve went to jail he could’ve gotten life in prison and I don’t think there would be a second season to this amazing show .
