I'm going to be treating it like an RP server. I'm gonna do my best to recruit anyone even remotely interested and just treat it like a character that's just as afraid to die as everyone else. I think there's alot of potential in that, and I'm excited to see how it pans out. Even if nobody plays along, I can still enjoy it on my own and become known as that quirky rp guy on the server.
I have a very old looking paladin complete with wrinkles and the greyest hair you can get, he is gonna retire at 40 (mount and crafting) and RP walk around SW as The Old Man making shit for ppl
I feel like I'm rping while playing hc lol. Just having to be careful is very immersive and you really connect with your char after all these tribulations as strange as that sounds.
8:55 I think you've actually hit on the true spirit of hardcore for me. doesn't matter if you make it to the end. Just enjoy while you're playing, whatever that means to you.
Also keep in mind that the official HC realms probably aren't meant to have every restriction built in. It's mainly a way to keep HC players in their own bubble so they aren't butting heads with the RP players who's realms they've taken over. Odds are the addon will still be a thing on official too.
Being a fan of "Hardcore Gaming" is a lot like saying you're a fan of NASCAR. But the only reason you watch is for the car crashes. Sure, you'll occasionally get to see what you want. But in the end, you'll get bored, be disappointed, or worse expect the rules to change to accommodate your sick fix. Making the experience essentially worthless and grotesque. It's much like the E-Sports craze that is now just a shadow of what it once was. Same as Magic, Pokémon, arcade tournys, TEKKEN, MOBA, Arenas and Tabletop in general. While a small hardliner group will keep it barely afloat. The remaining market moves on. It's one of the, if not the WORST aspect of the gaming community. Always has been. We're dreamers, we're gamers, adventurers, we make something from nothing, we make our own stories. But once we've beaten the level we move on. There isn't anything that can be done about it. But it does get old hearing about the "Next" big thing, followed by the "A is dead now because of A, B, & C". I've been gaming for 37 years now. Been a strange and bumpy ride. I'm not interested in "Hardcore" gaming anything. Just another fad that'll come and go like the rest.
The problem with boss permadeath is it makes it tricky to keep track of on whom the boss is already killed or not. Imagine a MC raid having to pug a new member but when they get there MC is empty because their pugged member already killed him and forgot and now the entire raid is ruined because they share the pug's perma-lockout. The 24 hour lockout for dungeons and weekly lockout for raids is incredibly fair and still prevents dungeon spamming like we all know Classic players love to do.
Great and entertaining video from start to finish. One of the main reasons why the hype is dying, is because it has taken to long to release the servers and we still don't even have a release date yet. The hyped started to grow 3-4 months ago, and this is when Blizzard should have gone all in and worked day/night getting official classic hardcore ready as fast as possible.
In addition to this, it also seems like there is now a way higher population who would rather want a SoM2 / Fresh classic experience with changes. I wonder when Blizzard will realise this.
it does seem odd how long it's taking, but i don't wanna assume any back end things they have to tie up first. but i also doubt they have a very large team working on it
@@GuideMMO > In addition to this, it also seems like there is now a way higher population who would rather want a SoM2 / Fresh classic experience with changes. You are right with that. But it's because the playerbase (or rather it's representation on reddit) is a insatiable beast with the mind of a three year old. Every time there are given something they bitch and complain and just want more. They are already debating on how it's already ruined before it even launched. For all it's failings I must say Blizzard is now doing a good job by actually catering to the playerbase. I am optimistic for the future. One thing leads to another, and I can't wait to hop onto fresh servers again. Hell even if I die I will not stop playing, since I am really looking forward to the new PvP system.
Normally the nature of HC would make it much harder for bots to function but apparently they can gather from the sky or underground, so as soon as someone gets to a high enough level they can just camp Black Lotus which is needed for the Petri potion. Disabling AH is the only way I can think of to prevent bots, but that would probably harm the game.
Yo dude, I am halfway through the video and I thought this is some 500k subscriber youtuber, with the video having 1 million views or something. Then I scrolled down and I see something very different. Very very good stuff. I also see that this video has been hit by the youtube algorithm, so brace yourself for some growth :D
I think we would have a vibrant market with trading enabled on hardcore, much more than the normal servers. People will change weapons more frequently and that blue and purple gear while leveling would make a huge diff. All work skills, cooking and fishing would be more valuable, as you dont need to level it your self and could buy it on AH. Its kinda like having a little bit of a sandbox mmo into wow, which I think is good. So thats my advocate for trading in HC.
The greatest thing to come out of HC was that Naxx betrayal. It was such a perfect long con, meticulous in so many ways. It was a masterpiece of trolling, I even saw non-Warcraft community people talking about it.
I honestly think that they boss permadeath is a cool ass idea. Maybe make the loot table a little bigger for each boss. That way there’s more chance for members to get loot. Instead of 3 pieces dropping, maybe 10 drop instead. To give all 40 players a better chance to get loot still with that system. It’d still be difficult considering you have tons of people to compete against still & you’d never be able to run it again.
for sure, in the video i only said the baseline idea, but for sure tons of things would HAVE to be tweaked like attunements, and easier loot too, so that after you beat all the raids.. well congrats, you won.
See, that’s what I don’t like about the idea of “only run dungeon/raids once.” Once you beat all the content, then what? It puts an automatic kill point to the game that’s supposed to just keep going.
Good valid points. I am curious how long it will last too... but I'm not taking part. So I'll follow along here and there on the sides. Hope people can have fun tho
you missed a good opportunity when you talked about people cheating with the addon after their hardcore character died to mention that this was the exact reason that guy griefed his raid
From what I've seen Hardcore is what Classic should have been; a proper community with active leveling zones instead of a bunch of gold-buying, dungeon-spamming, mage-boosting, AoE-farming, GDKP-running, streamer-simping, clout-chasing, meta-slave, misanthropic sweats.
The one-time lockout is funny but it really would screw with finding groups. Imagine killing the first boss in MC and your group disbands. No MC for you for the rest of time until reroll.
I'm very curious how things will pan out with trading. That's the one thing i'm very wary about and could IMO kill a big part of what makes hardcore appealing (the difficulty). Level 1-20/30 is arguably the hardest part of the challenge, which is why the average death is level 14. Trading will already make this MUCH easier, but what will really trivialize it is high level enchants. SSF also makes every profession choice really meaningful, every green you find and can use is important. Even white upgrades are something you look forward to. That's a big part of what makes the "spirit of hardcore" appealing. All that is gone with trading, when you can easily buy equal or close to equal level greens at all times, massively lowering the difficulty. I wish trading was unlocked at 20/30 but that's not going to happen. Hopefully Blizzard puts restriction on enchants for gear below 30 otherwise a cheap fiery enchant will make all the low level content a joke. I do understand the laissez-faire approach by Blizzard and that people want to play however they want, but I believe that by doing so, it will undermine the very reason hardcore was popular in the first place. Hopefully i'm wrong. PS let's not even get on bots/RMT, which will be a ridiculous clownfiesta given Blizzard's utter inability to monitor and ban any of it
1. Solo-self-found actually does NOT make every profession choice meaningful. For one thing enchantnment is not really possible and other professionsn also rely heavily on other crafting materials: 2. If anything really uplifts the value of professions it will be trading - professions will be so much more fun and will make so much more sense with trading. I cant really understand how this is not seen by some ssf-lovers... Dont get me wrong - i think Blizzard should install an OPTIONAL achievement system - that would be so cool and i would surely do SSF with maybe one char. But trading and interacting more with other players - i am sooo much looking forward to that....
Conversely, I think it would be better if we LOCKED trading past lvl 20. Because as you said, lvl 14 is the average level death, what are you doing at lvl 14? Dungeons, your first meaningful green quest more than likely, your first elite quest. Now maybe lvl 20 is too low but I Think trading potions is integral to early game survival, you pick up a mana pot as a warrior or rogue and you're just forced to vendor it
@@sahajatantra If you can buy everything on AH, there's no reason not to run engineering for all the super strong trinkets & gadgets (nades, dummies, bombs, etc). Right now I run alchemy/herbalism on my rogue because the buff potions and the constant flow of highest-tier healing potions are hugely helpful and rogue already has a lot of cooldowns to work with. That's a real dilemna. If I could just buy all the pots on AH, I would 100% always run engineering+1 money making profession and it's not even close. Same with the equipment from tailoring/smithing/etc. Not much of a choice really, aside from very rare BOP gear (like Robe of the Archmage at 60).
@@ZapatosVibes Well, trading has pros and cons, thats clear. and grouping will also have a big effect. It will be a completely different gameplay than on the current hc addon servers.... I personally always look on the bright side of things and i am very looking forward both to trading and grouping.
Ya, it was pretty jarring to hear him say one lockout per raid forever to take down KT. Had to stop the video. This is like getting sex technique advice from a virgin who has never even watched porn. You would think he would at least watch some raiding content before giving an opinion on raids.
People don't understand the term "Hardcore" It's meant to be enjoyed. It's not about showing off or competing with others, it's about making sure you don't cheat yourself. So it doesn't matter how you play the game. Just don't cheat yourself.
WoW was a bad experience for me, on my first dungeon, I was criticized for not being a good enough tank for them, as I was still learning. Keep note, I was 15 at the time and these people were calling me names, criticizing me, and then I was kicked from the dungeon. This was probably the worst experience of my life within a video game. The game is really good but the community is just God Awful.
it really is a hard road for new players trying to learn, i do wish they made more systems that would help newer players, and crack down on toxicity in the game
It's not really fair to judge an entire community from a single incident with 4 other people. That type of thinking has lead to some very horrible things irl
Maybe dont handicap people with one lives with your tutorial of the game. Play regular classic, learn, then play hardcore. Its totally understandable that people get mad at someone who doesnt know what theyre doing leads them to potential death. Or join a guild that knows your skill level and will teach.
If they could make a mechanic so that you can only kill dungeon bosses ones that would be great. But when you come back to the same dungeon next week all the mobs have respond except for the bosses.
I have a Hardcore 53 human warr on Hydraxian Waterlords. Game time ended and it kind of died out as about 70%+ of the players have died before that level. I died as a 35 warr to a shark north of Thera (frequent pat :O) 34 ud mage as I got reckless takin a beatin and has a strong poison by a Q mob in a farm in arathi h. Overall it's a great experience as no trade, AH, mail or outdoor party makes it a great challenge. It forces you to play resident evil style and think another round. It's a mindset. If you don't and only wanna 'get the action' you will likely die before lvl 30 or 40. A gaming friend I made lost his char due to DC underneath the water. Not gonna lie, I have somewhat fallen asleep with mounted autorun in Azshara. I am pretty lucky to be alive. I decided to make a fresh Duo with him
One chance for loot I would agree on if once you actually brat a boss you can like, buy the drop off a vendor. Like instead of loot drop, beating a boss unlocks a vendor that sells the loot. Still gated to time, still possible to gear your toon, etc.
As a Representative of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, We will be playing the HC server to help protect any possible griefers. Which is what we did on unofficial servers before the griefers stopped coming around.
After initial hype, HC will just going to be a thing we play when there's nothing else to do, like content draughts between expansions and patches. And that's completely okay.
9:33 I tried getting ravanger on my hunter while there was 2 warriors in the group (who stayed silent during the debacle) and out of all people the priest gave me the utmost shit and changed the loot to ML for the rest of the runs.
That naxx incident reminds me of the EvE incident where someone infiltrated a mega coorperation and just stole everything after building years of trust. I enjoy playing solo anyway but have no problem helping others. Just wish they would do something about the bots warping under the ground etc; My only goal is to get a Charger on a paladin. That would be cool. Obviously some nice gear as well, but eh, I'm not too worried overall. Knowing me, I'll stop playing around level 40 anyway XD
Hardcore one kill dungeon and raid bosses would be fine. Each raid would be tuned to be run in a specific order, based on the best quest and/or dungeon gear available based on level. There would be SO much competition to kill a 5 man dungeon because even Ragefire Chasm would only ever be run by max level range toons who farmed up the gear out in the world, and if they wipe, they start over... period!
I really like the rules set by Blizzard, there are so many different ways to die in this game. There's no need to make it this entire solo mission, and I don't enjoy being arbitrarily ruled by random people on the internet. I'm paying Blizzard for THEIR game, not RXP's.
There will be plenty of drama friend - people going completely nuclear in dungeons, accusing others of griefing because they died because of them even if it was a legit accident, loot dramalama's deciding to get "revenge" on others, healers and tanks are especially gonna be under fire in dungeons if they aren't pulling/healing properly.
I just came back to the ptr ,after a couple of weeks off. I have noticed a drop off of players and so many new players with Chinese character names. What's going on?
Nicely done video. May the YT alga rhythm shine upon thee with sheer abundance... (You deserve the views/subs.) As in your video, I think Blizzard is just waiting for Blizzcon. It seems like a bullshit thing they would do when they announce the release date.
About the Solo Self Found thing: I totally agree that it shouldn't be forced on anyone, but at the same time, it feels a bit awful to imagine an alt on a Hardcore server being supplied with ridiculous amounts of gold, equipment and other materials from their main character and just breeze through the leveling process. Unfortunately, you can't have your cake and eat it too - so you either accept twink alts, or you force everyone to do SSF. Personally, I am leaning towards the former, but I did kind of enjoy that this wasn't a thing under the strict HC Addon ruleset.
But as he said in the video, now the resources will only be attainable by other HC characters and not a regular character. Things will be a lot more scarce, cause there wont be NEARLY as many people making it very far in leveling.
.....and where exactly are all these "main" characters coming from with abundance of resources on official hardcore servers? I hear this ridiculous argument all the time like every player is gonna have a magical main character that is super loaded to feed to an alt. This will be such a small tiny population who will have a main character (who itself is HC and hasn't died) that is loaded with resources that it will not be noticeable.
@@LynxAQ at first, totally. But it will still absolutely happen, and become more prevalent the longer these servers exist. Also, allowing trading will also allow bank alts, which will mean that you will accumulate decent wealth over time, even if you keep dying at level 12. Most people will keep a majority of their mats and gold on characters that are virtually unkillable, so dying won't lose you a whole lot except the leveling progress. It essentially becomes a bit like a Rogue-like at that point.
For someone to have a super-loaded main on HC, doesnt that mean they had to level at least one character up to max and get them super-loaded? If they wanna feed whatever to an alt, then why not? I think they've earned it. I have a feeling 99% of the people complaining about this would change their tune if they were the ones that built up a main to the point of being able to feed an alt. And like others have said, it has 0 effect on you either way. Normally I would "kinda" get the "they're not working for it like I am/did" but that doesnt even apply here due to my first sentence lol
@@CaptainSweatpants90 But this seems completely unfeasable in reality. What worthwhile mats are they farming at level 12? Linen cloth? Are they running to a mailbox every 5 mins to mail off their 9 linen cloth and 90 copper to a bank alt? A higher level character may begin farming in a low level zone to give to an alt, but at that point he kinda deserves to do that since he has a high enough level character already to do that. In the end, again, it has 0 effect on you. It doesn't diminsh anything for anyone else and they started at level 1 with nothing just like you.
theres a few things in classic that need changing and it'll be perfect. i personally went to play classic just to play a good game for once. i have one toon that isn't HC and the rest are. one thing that needs changed is the leveling. its way way too slow, with retail its too fast and classic is just too slow. i feel like im doing a lot in classic now but not getting rewarded enough for it where again in retail im getting rewarded way too much. another thing about HC is you really can't make money there whether you're playing HC or not. since im not playing HC im trying to get some money just for flights and possible respecs. im level 18 or 19 and need 1 gold to change my talents and ive only had 1 gold once and i had to get new spells instead and i haven't got to 1 gold again since. this was around level 15. im not asking for thousands of gold but it'd be nice to have 5 gold average or something lol. i can't disenchant items either because i either need to wear them or try to sell them for said money so its hard to level up enchanting in HC, for sure. not to mention its hard to do dungeons because most people do the HC thing and in classic theres no dungeon finder so you have to find a group you can do a dungeom with MULTIPLE TIMES but with HC you apparently can only do one dungeon a day? or something? so that ruins THAT. id also like to know the HC end game of it all. lets say you make it to 60 without dying, then what? do you actually do raids or dungeons or do you just do it again on a new toon?
Played 6 months on HW, just took me 3 months of Stitches to stop playing it. Unfortunately wow hc official has a very big problem. The feeling of inequality. In the HW server you could start at any time, you'll be at the same of a person that started 5 months ago and just died Yesterday, death was the great leveler of people in that case. In stitches you can bank stuff between char, use the Ah, buy golds. Then starting now feel completely different from a player that started to play a month ago, because in a couple of months grinding you can have enough gold to fully twink your level 1. Also, death is no more that important when you can have ways to cheat it at your reach at any time and the toxicity of the community is very high since people is more entitled to say: "you died because you are stupid, why you didn't use this or that since you can" In HW it wasn't like that because you actually couldn't and when you die tha worst you can get was a "git gud"
I quit retail wow 3 years ago and WoTlK like 2-3 months ago because of my lack of time to play. But after hearing about this, I'm really tempted to come back again.
I think raiding deaths should be a reset to base lvl 60, while other deaths should be a reset to level 1, it would keep hardcore spirit without the complete annoyance of having to re level, imagine getting to kelthuzad and dying forcing you to re go through all the raids and redo all the attunements and required quests, thats punishment enough. Considering i fully expext blizzard to get hit with a ddos at launch and during the big raid attempts for grief d/c kills they need a better system then character dead
I agree with your points, however if trading is allowed pre-60 it would decrease the difficulty for everyone. Wouldn't make the challenge as satisfying if you knew your tank/healer had the best possible loadout. It's also going to open up the possibility of buying gold pre-60. I've already seen GDKP runs in lower-level dungeons, with the fear of death, I could see this becoming common place, especially if turning off XP was implemented. I mostly see Blizzard allowing trading to open up HC to a larger audience, IMO the rules were fine the way they were. IMO they need to disable trading/sending gold, and only allow trading of items at level 60. If Blizzard goes forward with their current official HC rules, I'm more than likely going to stick with Bloodsail server, or play Elden Ring... Thanks for the video and sharing your opinions
I would guess at least 15% of the people on Bloodsail cheat by turning off the addon to do malicious activities. So if you do a dungeon, your run probably doesn’t count. 🤷🏻♂️
If people want to challenge themselves further, they can set up their own rules and challenge themselves. I've avoided HC so far because am mmorpg without grouping and trading is batshit crazy (in my opinion of course). I don't want to play a single player game.
I'm honestly embarrassed of the community. Specifically, the addon using group. They've revealed themselves to be no more than stage four cancer since the announcement and have driven all the curious players away with their incessant whining. Let's hope they all stay to their word and keep playing on Bloodsail after the 24th.
I’ve been out since March. It was popping off back from Dec to March. It’s been off and on since. What I noticed is hardcore is just a trend for most people. I think it’s a mistake for blizzard to do this, but at least they can just leave it up forever. So if in 5 years I want to try again I can. That said after the first month I expect a 90% drop off. We shall see.
I'll probably be giving Hardcore a try, maybe make a few characters just to see how far I can get without dying, but at the end of the day, it's for fun. I don't care if I don't make it all the way to 60.
The worst part is that considering resources are being used for hardcore servers, I feel like wrath is gonna have a longer phase 3 which is already boring
I understand griefers are annoying but imo griefers and stuff like kiting bosses is an essential part of wow classic and it makes hardcore more interesting to watch and play. Removing griefing, something so prevelant in pre-2016 gaming is the reason why gaming nowadays feels like there is no community and it all feels like singleplayer. Removing any human element good or bad from any game, banning everything you deem "toxic" and players being unable to take a loss of any kind.
Hardcore is just gives new rules to old game. Thing what happens when Blizzard just finish Classic content with oryginal old projects karazan, hyjal etc. And give us just Classic +. That can be real explozion of players base.
I think dedicated Hardcore servers are a really, REALLY bad idea. But Blizzard will realize that within a few months when it's dead. The changes they made, such as allowing trade, grouping, dungeons, etc are ALL good changes.
Can soemone tell me the reason why was he banned on twitch? Griefing isn't bannable offense on twitch from what I know, I don't think there could be even good enough explanation what griefing is, after taking into account how many different game twitch covers.
As much as the hype has grown. Summer-time was not the time to release that type of content. I wasnt expecting anything until mid September or later. Honestly thought it would be around in november. I took 3 months off playing and just came back. I just want get more classic in before release of HC and Som2. Just my 2 cents.
Personally think hard-core should just be everyone using the addon takes it upon themselves to play on the RP servers. Just see the hard-core official servers falling flat on their face and be sone crazy PR aggro across the board.
I dont get why petri-flask works but a Pally's bubble hearth is gonna be restricted. I am fine with it, but if you have 1 shouldn't you have both? Personally I would also be fine with a Shaman's Ankh being usable too but only once.
i remember when i started Classic WoW (having actually been around for original Vanilla), i was semi proud that i didn't get killed til level 8.... that damn kobold cave......... but it was the first of a million deaths, i just don't see the point of this, lol. i mean aside from as a joke/quick fun thing. but not a serious endeavor. the community wanted classic+ ("new" content of vanilla wow, perhaps finishing planned content that wasn't put in the game originally), when did it shift to wanting this? and how are people so into it, so much when it's not even out yet? just from the beta?
HC isn't something that will be sustainable enough to have its own servers. IMO, they would have been much better off introducing it as something that you could do on regular era servers. Like you go to an NPC, get some kind of buff, then you're put on a HC layer with other HC players or something.
Nice video! Yeah, I'm kinda in the same boat. It's fun, but I don't take it too serious. I expect to die, try again and probably don't try to raid. It's also very time consuming, got a lot of other stuff to do.
@@zuggypoo this person made the comment, “they’re not us”, which implies a really small subset of players, which it is. Yet your comment proves a point. If “us” includes the people that got classic servers to be created, and they got what they wanted, then any subset of players, if they show enough conviction, deserve to also get their own little niche in the game, from blizzard. But idk who “us” is.
lol, it is; Solo Self-FUNDED, not "found". I mean it is good to 'find yourself' but the challenge is to only survive on your own FUNDing. I've heard a few people call it that, had to speak up, just had to.
I didn't even know this was a thing. Completely stupid idea. Oh no, I disconnected and a monster killed me. So dumb. 1 life play is not compatible with an MMO that fails with a connection issue or some lag. I'm actively furious at what a dumb idea this is.
The release date isn't even out yet, why should we worry about how long it will last ?I mean yeah, maybe the servers will be dead in 6 month but who cares after sometime without it the hype will comeback and for a few month the servers are gonna be alive again and die again. no the hype isnt dead its just that people are waiting for official so playing or talking about non official hc is a bit redundant I think the changes are good, dungeons being lock to once a day is good it prevents dungeon farming while not completely stoping you from doing it again, don't really care for trade even the most geared twink can die and by the time you get to difficult lvls trading wont be as effective as at low lvl
I just don't get the appeal of this, at all, but whatever; I'm not going to accuse people who enjoy it of having "wrong fun" or anything. I'm just amused about how much drama there is over this before it's even out.
they have said regular battlegrounds will be disabled, but if you had a custom 10v10 group u could do wargames, but if you die once, your character is gone
Personally, hard-core seems boring. I leveled in vanilla. Tanks, healers, some DPS. I did some where I never died, some died in dungeons because other people, and yeah I died to stupid stuff I did. But leveling wasn't hard. Leveling was LONG. The challenge is to be awake when you hit 60.
Who cares what's falling apart and what's not.. Whoever wants to play with it, play with it, but I'm not interested. I'm not completely stupid.. Playing with something that I can lose is a complete waste of time. As if it wasn't already..
Yeah I stopped playing about an year ago but I tried it. I think I might check how the community changes for it. The interactions with the community is what I'm really hoping for. Call me crazy but that griefing shit from Teenyviolin actually got me more pumped to play.
Yeah nah thats all good for others. I did my time from beta to retail. I don't miss any of the nuances. Rose tinted glasses can keep that. Only thing I missed was more open world zones. Nothing else from vanilla strikes me as even remotely engaging with out QoL that came in later years.
I think the one dungeon/raid would be a very funny and interesting idea. Only the people with gear would rise to the top and even then their skill may not match up with the content. It would force people to level alts just to see what gear they get in one raid, if they even get gear. Great video!
Mmm good video guy. I'm a fellow TBC early days player and have yet to really jump back in and experience things today. But doesn't seem too authentic. This hardcore seemed appealing, but sounds like blizzard are taking away elements that made early wow so entertaining and gut wrenching. Griefing sucks. I'm guilty as hell for it. But it's certainly part of the game and creates notable stories from the community. Notable example, the guy who locked down Menethil Harbour before battlegrounds was a thing.
Ofc it is. Leveling is the most annoying part of WoW a do it over and over again is just boring. Best HC WoW was on Turtle WoW private server, where when you dinged level 60 as hardcore, you got title Immortal and then you could die and respawn.
This video needs more views/likes, solid editing and pacing. Hot take: Although I am glad Blizzard has put certain restrictions to prevent griefing on levels as shown in the video on their servers, those players that died in Naxx should remain dead. I know it was devilishly cruel what that player did, but the fact remains that if you die, you die. I can see server/lag issues or bugs being okay and on case by case basis. I'm glad that blizzard isnt going to have appeals.

They are workng day / night.
On improving online shop :D
it does seem odd how long it's taking, but i don't wanna assume any back end things they have to tie up first. but i also doubt they have a very large team working on it
@@zuggypoo hopefully there's just enough players to keep it healthy and not way to many servers

@2:20 It would be completely impossible. Dungeons and raid grinds are required for various progression attunement checkpoints.
Normally the nature of HC would make it much harder for bots to function but apparently they can gather from the sky or underground, so as soon as someone gets to a high enough level they can just camp Black Lotus which is needed for the Petri potion.
Disabling AH is the only way I can think of to prevent bots, but that would probably harm the game.
i would 100% be for disabling the AH

@@MutiKush yes, but we're never getting GMs back, so no point even wishing for it
Yo dude, I am halfway through the video and I thought this is some 500k subscriber youtuber, with the video having 1 million views or something.
Then I scrolled down and I see something very different.
Very very good stuff.
I also see that this video has been hit by the youtube algorithm, so brace yourself for some growth :D
thank you :D
Just make it so that you can click a point " solo self found " when creating a character and on that character trading will be disabled by game
You can free transfer your dead hc characters to a normal realm on official, so not completely a waste of time
for sure a good thing!!
That is a game changer for me
Diablo 4 has a scroll of escape in Hardcore. Really low drop rate but is insurance incase of lag/party fail.
I was really caught off guard when I saw your sub count. Quality to high for 174 subs. Keep it up.
I appreciate that!
@@zuggypoo I expect more quality content once official HC drops
For one thing enchantnment is not really possible and other professionsn also rely heavily on other crafting materials:
Now maybe lvl 20 is too low but I Think trading potions is integral to early game survival, you pick up a mana pot as a warrior or rogue and you're just forced to vendor it
@@huuminbloodborn7570 Yup, I also think locked trading until 20 would make a healthier server overall. Guess we'll see!
I personally always look on the bright side of things and i am very looking forward both to trading and grouping.
i think its pretty clear you haven't done much content outside of low-mid levelling based off what you said in these videos.

@@governmentghost01True, but even beforehand, the only thing I had were bad experiences.
Maybe dont handicap people with one lives with your tutorial of the game. Play regular classic, learn, then play hardcore. Honestly the idea of everything having I might give it a try. But I’ll probably die at level 14 or so.
I died as a 35 warr to a shark north of Thera (frequent pat :O)
34 ud mage as I got reckless takin a beatin and has a strong poison by a Q mob in a farm in arathi h.
Overall it's a great experience as no trade, AH, mail or outdoor party makes it a great challenge.
It forces you to play resident evil style and think another round.
It's a mindset.
If you don't and only wanna 'get the action' you will likely die before lvl 30 or 40.

One chance for loot I would agree on if once you actually brat a boss you can like, buy the drop off a vendor. Like instead of loot drop, beating a boss unlocks a vendor that sells the loot. Still gated to time, still possible to gear your toon, etc.
Dude that’s actually a really good idea… boss drops a token that you can spend or something… totally dig it!
As a Representative of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, We will be playing the HC server to help protect any possible griefers. Which is what we did on unofficial servers before the griefers stopped coming around.
the LIGHT blesses you and yours
Respect. I always saw you guys around.
After initial hype, HC will just going to be a thing we play when there's nothing else to do, like content draughts between expansions and patches. And that's completely okay.
9:33 I tried getting ravanger on my hunter while there was 2 warriors in the group (who stayed silent during the debacle) and out of all people the priest gave me the utmost shit and changed the loot to ML for the rest of the runs.
yeah warriors actually have no need for it
That naxx incident reminds me of the EvE incident where someone infiltrated a mega coorperation and just stole everything after building years of trust. I enjoy playing solo anyway but have no problem helping others. Just wish they would do something about the bots warping under the ground etc;
My only goal is to get a Charger on a paladin.
It seems like a bullshit thing they would do when they announce the release date.
thanks for watching!!
Also, death is no more that important when you can have ways to cheat it at your reach at any time and the toxicity of the community is very high since people is more entitled to say: "you died because you are stupid, why you didn't use this or that since you can"
In HW it wasn't like that because you actually couldn't and when you die tha worst you can get was a "git gud"
I quit retail wow 3 years ago and WoTlK like 2-3 months ago because of my lack of time to play.
But after hearing about this, I'm really tempted to come back again.
it is quite fun, especially since classic era is the only version of the game with no cash shop!!
Thanks for the video and sharing your opinions
thanks for watching and the feedback, i agree with a lot of your points!
No not realy. Trading should be allowed from the beggining.
@@lazarus8453 with trading allowed it stops being hardcore.
Turtle Wow disabled the AH for hc and made it so you can only trade and party with people within + or - 5 levels of you and it worked wonders.
You know you get a free character transfer if your Hardcore character dies, right?
I’ve been out since March. It was popping off back from Dec to March. It’s been off and on since. What I noticed is hardcore is just a trend for most people. I think it’s a mistake for blizzard to do this, but at least they can just leave it up forever. So if in 5 years I want to try again I can. That said after the first month I expect a 90% drop off. We shall see.
I'll probably be giving Hardcore a try, maybe make a few characters just to see how far I can get without dying, but at the end of the day, it's for fun. I don't care if I don't make it all the way to 60.
same
The worst part is that considering resources are being used for hardcore servers, I feel like wrath is gonna have a longer phase 3 which is already boring
On hc official can u group up with people in the open world for elites?😮
be quiet.. they'll get mad if you do elite quests as intended
Hardcore is just gives new rules to old game. Thing what happens when Blizzard just finish Classic content with oryginal old projects karazan, hyjal etc. And give us just Classic +. That can be real explozion of players base.
you can spam dungeon max lvl and do raid weekly
100% agreed
"when you're being a moron and die in dire maul, there's no way to resurrect" 😂
I recommend turtle wow if you want a vanilla plus hc experience with , amazing new content that feels just right at home into vanilla
i remember when i started Classic WoW (having actually been around for original Vanilla), i was semi proud that i didn't get killed til level 8.... that damn kobold cave......... but it was the first of a million deaths, i just don't see the point of this, lol. i mean aside from as a joke/quick fun thing. but not a serious endeavor. the community wanted classic+ ("new" content of vanilla wow, perhaps finishing planned content that wasn't put in the game originally), when did it shift to wanting this? and how are people so into it, so much when it's not even out yet? just from the beta?
HC isn't something that will be sustainable enough to have its own servers. IMO, they would have been much better off introducing it as something that you could do on regular era servers. Like you go to an NPC, get some kind of buff, then you're put on a HC layer with other HC players or something.
Not like bloodsail buccaneers or hydraxian being full or anything.
These servers are gonna be so dead in a while
Nice video! Yeah, I'm kinda in the same boat. It's fun, but I don't take it too serious. I expect to die, try again and probably don't try to raid. It's also very time consuming, got a lot of other stuff to do.
With only 1 reset you would be crippled to complete attunement quests that require multiple trips to the same instance.
it was just a base idea, obliviously they'd have to go and adjust a bunch of things to make it work
WHEN DOES THE SERVERS COME OUT!?!?
People should be free to use petri flasks.
But the countdown shouldn't start while it's active
Those people were so dedicated that they got blizzard to give them their own server.
First specialized group to do that in WoW history.
did we forget players did the same thing to get classic servers in the first place?
@@zuggypoo this person made the comment, “they’re not us”, which implies a really small subset of players, which it is.
Yet your comment proves a point. If “us” includes the people that got classic servers to be created, and they got what they wanted, then any subset of players, if they show enough conviction, deserve to also get their own little niche in the game, from blizzard.
But idk who “us” is.
Haven't played WoW in over 10 years. I'm coming back strictly to play HC and building a new PC. I cannot wait!
lol, it is; Solo Self-FUNDED, not "found".
I mean it is good to 'find yourself' but the challenge is to only survive on your own FUNDing. I've heard a few people call it that, had to speak up, just had to.
For SSF other players do not exist. Sure if you found it, you funded it.
I didn't even know this was a thing. Completely stupid idea.
Oh no, I disconnected and a monster killed me.
So dumb. 1 life play is not compatible with an MMO that fails with a connection issue or some lag. I'm actively furious at what a dumb idea this is.
Im sure i'll check it out but truth be told I dont have the patience to play slow enough to get to 60. I'll get over confident and die.
The release date isn't even out yet, why should we worry about how long it will last ?I mean yeah, maybe the servers will be dead in 6 month but who cares after sometime without it the hype will comeback and for a few month the servers are gonna be alive again and die again.
no the hype isnt dead its just that people are waiting for official so playing or talking about non official hc is a bit redundant
I think the changes are good, dungeons being lock to once a day is good it prevents dungeon farming while not completely stoping you from doing it again, don't really care for trade even the most geared twink can die and by the time you get to difficult lvls trading wont be as effective as at low lvl
Dang it's almost like this game from 2004 wasn't designed for hardcore at all. Dang.
I just don't get the appeal of this, at all, but whatever; I'm not going to accuse people who enjoy it of having "wrong fun" or anything. I'm just amused about how much drama there is over this before it's even out.
im just here for the ride haha, yeah wow players can be crazy
I wonder how battle grounds will work if that will even be a thing on these servers
they have said regular battlegrounds will be disabled, but if you had a custom 10v10 group u could do wargames, but if you die once, your character is gone
No appeals is a good thing, cause if one gets it, everyone will demand it none stop. Its a road that will lead to a shitstorm. Trust me
What I’m trying to figure out is what’s stopping you from playing the way you want on a server
Who cares what's falling apart and what's not.. Whoever wants to play with it, play with it, but I'm not interested. I'm not completely stupid.. Playing with something that I can lose is a complete waste of time. As if it wasn't already..
ill play for a slow dungeon grind experience if i can find a decent group
Yeah I stopped playing about an year ago but I tried it. I think I might check how the community changes for it. The interactions with the community is what I'm really hoping for. Call me crazy but that griefing shit from Teenyviolin actually got me more pumped to play.
I'm enjoying HC ATM. The fact that there are cheaters in a self imposed game mode is just crazy.
I like the permanent lock-out idea, but then weapons should no longer be soulbound.

Great video!
some serious degen alt raids funneling loot and split raids. It would be depressing AF to actually do, but one hell of an achievement.
Why doesn’t Blizzard just create a server with different difficulties? No auction house on hardcore is kinda a turn off for me.
Lmao the best part when you said “ casual players “ then showed Mitch 😂
I think your right, and the only way hardcore will work with trading is with dungeon one time lock out. Other then that its dead on arrival.
You're = you are
Never underestimate peoples greed. They’ll pay for a one stamina upgrade when in two levels they’ll get a new piece from a dungeon.
One reset is fine, but then the boss should drop the entire loot table
Raiding in HC will be more toxic than anywhere else. Fingers will be pointed like nowhere else
I'm glad that blizzard isnt going to have appeals.
i do agree if they came back and finished naxx it wouldn't quite feel right
I want see a guild clear BWL naked using rank 1 spells only and no hearthstoning. Then id be impressed with hardcore players.
I liked Everquest's death rules. Ding!!. Un-ding... Re-ding!! Un-ding... Re-ding!!
This was a great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I will give the Official Hardcore servers a try, it does seem like good fun
