God bless the Feelgoods..! Private Practice was the first 'real' album I ever bought, that was when I became musically conscious as it were. So, my introduction to, and then, permanent adherence to Dr Feelgood was based on the line up with Gypie Mayo. Never looked back.

I love the Wilco Era but Gypie brought a new different aspect to the band that was every bit as good in my opinion. Gypie plays stuff I don't think Wilco could do also.

This was just when Gypie first started and he had to be encouraged by Lee to showboat a little like Wilko used to. I remember listening to this and taping it on Radio 1. Gypie was a great lead guitarist too - just a totally different style to Wilko. If I am not mistaken Gypie co-wrote The Feelgoods' only top 10 hit. RIP Lee, Gypie and Wilko.

Why don't the BBC bother syncing the stereo tape that went out on the radio with the picture. Yes it does go out of sync but it's so easy to keep it in sync. I offered to do it for the BBC once for all these shows but they only have professionals at the BBC. I've done two syncs myself where I've found the footage and then found the BBC Radio FM recording of it. Nena sounds excellent. I've also done the 1000 Edition of Top Of The Pops from 05/05/1983. This was a one off until 1988.

Wilko rides the line, for 30 silverlings, the measure for a male human sacrifice after the Law of Moses. Afterwards he rocks Philadelphia. 🍷😎
