Actually, a band named Nine Inch Nails originated the song, Cash just gave an iconic cover of the song shortly before he died

@@robinh4 Cash didn't write this song and he didn't make the original version either. Trent Reznor did. The original actually sounds way more like this version than Cash's version so I don't know why they didn't just go with the better one.

Johnny would never backhand someone for singing a song. He might have backhanded someone if he knew they would degrade him after he died though...
