    Good video and impressive riding you show on your channel 👍
    One comment on starters in general is that if they have bushings make sure to lube them with a little grease. If the bushings are dry thay can make a lot of resistance and reduce the torque output of the starter and also Wear out fast.

      Thanks very much and yes great tip, I actually put a little much grease the first time I serviced it I think.. ;)

    I had a new bike with a starter . Got rid of it and got a lite 01 CR125. A dependable bike .

    I had the exact same issue with that plug into the regulator/rectifier. Why they make such great bikes but do such silly little things with the electrics boggles my mind. Admittedly they are simple to fix but that's not the point - build it right in the first place please

      Exactly but every bike has its issues I have had a lot of bikes and the way these KTM's work.. all I can say is awesome!

    What charges the starter when it sits for months?

    • @crazybob1954mo
      @crazybob1954mo 4 года назад +1

      Nothing charges the starter.....
      The battery gets charged by the stator/charging system when the motor is running.
      Uh, Nothing gets charged when it sits for months...
      BUY a Good Quality Battery Tender... OR Ride The Bike.!!!!

      @@crazybob1954mo or buy lithium battery and they don't need tender. Great at keeping charge over long storage periods.

      @Matt Steelefrom my experience if a lithium battery is stored at 50% or higher state of charge it shouldn't need a tender at least for a year. If it needs a tender then either there's a problem with the electrical system on the bike ( parasitic draw ) , or the battery is damaged and most likely isn't capable of starting the bike or holding charge for a couple days either.

      HeddleTowns Enduro Ride there is a company in Quebec making custom cnc engine cases and a billet electric starter systems for cr500's. Look up cr500 e-start and it will pop up on google.

      Sounds good its most likely the older bikes that have been exposed to a lot of water over the years as mine has... :)
