In this video, we compare the Argo ATV amphibious vehicle to a four wheeler and a HUV. Whether it is for a commercial or personal application, ARGOs are the difference between recreational quads and heavy off road equipment. ARGO will climb, crawl or swim anywhere you have to go, with the equipment and tools you need, at a cost you can afford. Argos are amphibious and utility vehicles that will take you places you cant go on foot or in a regular vehicle. Comes with accessories such as rubber tracks, custom colors, and more. the drivers of the 'other' vehicles do the same thing on every obstacle.
1) Slow down at the bottom
2) Step on the brakes half way up
3) Jam on the throttle so the wheels spin.
don't get me wrong - I love argos... but it's just so obvious.
I have the new Argo Aurora 950 six and it drives and rides very similar to a traditional atv. It has the romp you need to fly up hills nicely like an atv does. Expensive but well worth it. The suspension is much nicer too. And the st trans allows for 35 mph speed which is nice when needed. It doesn’t handle high speeds and rough terrain like a side-by-side does but the improvements they’ve made are way damn nice. The steering handle has also been moved to the left side of the dash which is way nicer. There more of an all terrain vehicle instead of a swamp buggy now and I appreciate that. Go try one out I bought mine from Dallans RV in pleasant Grove Utah.
Ive driven Argo's in Alaska during the 90's, besides the tires theres really no suspension system, so on ruff terrain the ride can be slightly harsh
Argos are always improving, hopefully we'll be able to see improvements to the suspension in the near future.
Maybe try the obstacles with the side by side instead of backing out
Dear sirs, presently in Thailand ..there are some provinces flooded..we need to have proper vihicles for rescue, evacuation....this ARGO is so interesting.
Where did you get the worlds worst "professional drivers"? I really like this extremely obvious unbiased video. DISCLAIMER!!!! If you want to get there next week instead of today, go buy an argo. If you want to jar your spine with our no suspension vehicle, buy an argo
Thank you for the interest in our video. Argo's are wonderful for hunters and others who love the outdoors. Many previous customers have purchased Argo's for duck hunting in particular. SLE sells Argo's that range from $10, 399.00 and up. These products can be found at online at sleequipment or on our ebay store. If you would like to speak with a sales associate concerning the Argo please call 615-641-7720.
02:10 Putting your fingers on the outside of the rollcage, very smart...
Excellent presentation!!
I like how they don't even try to go up anything on anything but the argo.... they just slowly drive up to it and stop...
ya it was a one sided thing i never saw you test the utv through the ditch with 6 people but im sure it would be possible
I noticed that you didn't show the Polaris Ranger climbing the hill. Why is that?
Because it could make it
I had a Ranger, it could have easily made that hill. That is not to put down the Argo in any way, but that hill could have been pulled easily with the Ranger.
When they knew that it could make the challenge, but did not want to show it, they used the excuse that they did "want to damage the other vehicles"
@ blackbird true they weren't comparing the right vehicles true it looks good compares to those
the other UTV's are plenty capable. but who wouldn't love an amphibious 8x8?
I remember reading a test some years ago on a British farming mag of a Max 6x6 and an equivalent Argo- they found the Max would keep going where the Argo was beaten, mainly because the Max had no differential and maintained drive to both sides...they did find the Max a little noisier but reckoned it was a small price to pay. Now I've never seen one of these machines up close and am just wondering what those of you who use them think.
Just listed two new Argo's on SLE's Website
8x8 vs 6x4 vs 4x4, hm which will win i wonder??
Gators are designed with full skid plates, just like the Argo. With snow one can also buy tracks for their side by side. I've seen tracks mounted on gators opposed to tires. My gator has a back seat, and now they have two bench seats and one can be mounted in the back with total safety and carry 6-10 passenger, much more than Argo and much safer. Other than water the Argo is a fail. John Deere gators and other side by sides are superior. If you want to tread water buy a boat or kayak.
it says 4 wheeler not side x side
Half the reason the ranger and gator aren't doing some of these obstacles is because the driver isn't trying (because he wants the Argo to win) like on the hill climb, if he just stayed on the gas and went at it with speed he would of been fine.
Why does everyone think the Argo needs suspension so bad?!?!
Would take 3X as long to get to the next bar on the atv trail! I don't care if it can take 7 drunks with you. My motto "I just want to go fast"! LOL
REMBER THE WORD SUSPENSION it feels good over "small hills" if you go quicker
I agree they need a roll cage, and the 6x6 John Deere isn't made to do that, its made for working environments, they should try the gator 4x4, it would keep right up with the Argo or do even better
Yeah, a little unfair they put a 6x4 Gator (no power to front wheels) in this test. A gator with powered front wheels (6x6) wouldve been a better comparison.
they never showed the ranger at climbing cuz its pry better and companies never talk about the bad things in there produts
hello capt. obvious
Thanks for the video i want one
well now you see ostacruiser(check out his channel) can float on water and go over everything on his Can Am
you could get a thruster kit or they do have the 5 horse outboard engine
So to all of you that are saying this is such a BS video, are you just ignoring the fact that the argo is completely amphibious? Try driving your rangers and gators and hondas through a lake and see how well they are working then. Argo's are the jam.
so the Argo is a jetski with wheels and a powerful engine? i thought of this when i was 5 years old. The reason why it goes over terrain easier, is because all the wheels arnt separetly run, they are all connected. and having a special gear ratio can also cause a difference. to turn all it does is lock one side of its wheels. but who wants to bet it weighs around twice to 3x as much as the competitors.
I wonder if it can be licensed so you can drive on roads? The lack of suspension is not good.
They are comparing it to a fucking golf cart! Please my honda rancher does just the same.
But doesn't have the dame payload and towing capabilities, can't thrash a trail through a bush, float...
A very bias comparison as expected. I have owned 3 8 wheel argos and 15 4x4 atv's. They all have their place, but the Argo was obviously better in deep water cause it is a boat. But the plastic bottom would high center and gouge and leaving pieces of orange or green plastic on sharp rocks. The snow test was silly cause if you put tracks on a atv or side by side they will ruin circles around a argo and tracks, cause they have a foot more clearance. Would have been nice if for a John Deer they did not use a turf machine as a 6x6 is a 6x6 Argo or otherwise , but UTV has more clearance to start with even before getting 5" more with track. Let's make the test a little more apples to apples with non biased drivers
of course is the best has 8x8 transmition any dont forget many atv has just 2x2 traction and are of course with 4x4 transmition
Nice argo
why dont they have the 6 wheel ranger
i have one which would motor threw all these tests except water
i love the argo
with tracks its the altimate lake machine but come on
brutal video
Cool
Looks suspicious that they didn't show both the 6x6 and the 8x8 versions on all tests...
The argo is just a mini tank that go on water but it good
If I had a dollar for Every 4 wheeler I pulled out I could buy a new house id put my tracked 6x6 up against any 4 wheeler
These things are cool and all but I still prefer my Polaris Ranger 570 and my Kubota RTV 900 Diesel
Nice until you have to work on that chain driven nightmare.
TheValkyrie1968 they have no suspension either..
I find it funny how they said they didn't want to go over the log because they'd damage the undercarriage! That cracks me up because the Polaris has a full skid plate. And also when they did a hill climb they didn't even try the Polaris because they'd knew it would beat it XD
Amusing comment. I was going to say, due to laws, regulations, responsibilities and liabilities these folks had to stay within safe operating procedures but in the hands of a skillful operator these Argos will beat, hands down any other machine. We had Argos and we did what no other off road machine could even dream of doing including crossing on water with two heavy guys plus one complete adult moose in the back and climbed mountain trails of over 40° incline with not one, not two but three deflated tires and with the moose ! Got to the camp and inflated the three tires and had a beer ! Keep your Polaris in the garage, you do not want to measure up to an Argo !
i can go over rocks with my polaris
Awesome duck hunting rig....
Argos are great but you didn’t use the quads because they can handle everything but water
Argos are used for water; they are amphibious.
How bout i getting my atv it will be better then there pi
ss
yay for ontairio!!!!
I started watching this video but didn't go any further for fear of bias.
Cool machine but I love my kubota RTV
the argo is the chuck norris of utility vehicles
I have one of these
do these go over 25 mph?
super
cool
i know that side by side would do everything that argo could do.
Except float in water
i can make those tigh turns on my golf cart
Nice job argo... way to put down john deere and polaris. If you know how to handle your machine you can pretty much ride through anything. Pretty sad that guy of yours couldn't even make it up the hill on the gator... he should take some riding lessons. And by the way thats cool how the Argo 6X6 and 8X8 float... my fishing boat does that too.
At SLE Equipment Argo's run anywhere from $10,500.00 and up. If this is something you are interested in for hunting and various outdoor activities. Please feel free to contact our office to speak with a sales associate at 615-641-7720.
No comparison to a ATV either, why not. There as much used for work around the house or in the wood just as much, if not more then these vehicles.
You can't compare a skid steer vehicle to a Ranger or Gator... Only flaw with the Argo is how it tears up the ground.
It looks like a little baby LAV
i love argos but they tend to have a bumpy ride...
The advantage is you can't find one to buy anyways
they didn't even try to drive over the log or climb the rock hills....give it some gas....plus i enjoy a suspension...as well as going fast
No, it doesn't weigh much more than the others. In fact, the Gator XUV weighs 1000 pounds, while the Argo 8x8 weighs 1,260 pounds. And the Gator is twice as small as the 8x8!!
I could take my polaris and do all of this and more
those things are rough the smoothest is the yamaha ranger.
Argo is about twice the price as the “other” atv.
HOW MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, other than the fact that they are painfully slow, more complicated to control, way to expensive, way too hyped, and water speed is 10x worse than land, and are not available in a lot of places. This is obviously the top of the line Argo a decade ago, against the absolute worst of each other. It’s made to make you spend $10,000- $20,000 on a slow, overpriced, amphibious four wheeler with a couple extra wheels.
My name is Argo :)
B B B B Bouncy
kids must play
Price on a argo at
what do you call the green cart with 6 wheels? :)
John Deere gator if your still wondering
the only thing nice is if you fall through the ice the float and for duck hunting you can drag a boat into the swamp other htne that they are nothing more
theres a reason while they didnt do a 4 wheeler on the water capability.........the 4 wheeler would skip right over the water
why buy an atv or sidexside and a boat when you can buy a argo for a much cheaper price
Use a king quad and see what happens
you know to me if i see a tree that was cut and placed in the middle of a trail to me it would say dont go this way its under construction but what ever
i could use the polaris and carry like 10 people
maybe they should have used a 4x4 gator... just saying
They didnt do the other utv cus the could them
they should do a drag race and see who wins ?
I think more 30-40 Km / h 20-25 Mph MAX
Needs a suspension.
Argo can do all that crap, but its probably 3 times the price of a Gator or Ranger
with my atc 350x i can do all of this i can Go 100x faster and do every thing the argo can but better
Test it against a new Coot.
Where's the 4wheeler .?not that cheep sidebyside, using a John deer gator lmao
Great video but bottom line money talks
max speed?
Jim Nolan forty km
@tradernorton05 cheers
You do not compare the Argo to a John Deere gator
My 300cc 2×2 Honda goes up a hill almost verticle
it only has two wheels?... just kidding they were just afraid to get dirt on the gator and the ranger
it goes in water says my friend i watch STILL DONT KNOW
4:41
let's do this 180 turn on a golf course
I'm going name my puppy Argo 🐶 ☺
They should have had a race on flat ground and see which vehicle would win!
