Yeah I forgot to record it! I got 3 buddies and we carried it off. Lifting it up and off isn't too bad. Remove the tailgate to save a little weight also.
I have this 3/8th breaker bar from Harbor Freight and love it! www.harborfreight.com/38-in-drive-17-in-breaker-bar-67931.html I didn't have any issues using the 1/2in impact. Curious, did you try a fully recharged battery on any of the ones that are stuck?
If you have the tools and enjoy the project, you can probably replace the back half for like $4-500. I thought about doing new C channel or rectangular tubing but not feeling bold enough yet!
This project has been sitting in the drive way with little progress since life took over. Now that the weather is getting better I am picking it back up. I will let you know how the scaling goes, hoping to do some this weekend.
@@dldcustoms2921 I'm working on it! Should have one soon. The weather hasn't been cooperating lately and everything is outside for me. Need a garage I can work in!
Yeah that is the worst, especially if you are saving the bed. My bed is trash so if I had to cut them, it would not be a big deal. Life actually took a turn and I still need to get back on that project. I am looking forward to repairing the frame still.
@@Rwinnett2012 yeah that what I don't want to do if I can't get it off then I might have to cut them... But if the heat and wd40 don't work then I'll cut them
I like how nobody ever shows the process of actually removing the bed lol

I got 3 off with the impact now I have to get a bigger breaker bar like a 25 inc and some heat and hopefully I can get the rest of the bolts off

@@Rwinnett2012 would that be small I need power to get those off I've been using a 1/2 breaker but my breaker was a smaller one
I just need a longer 1/2 bar
The 3 came off easy with a lil wd40 and that impact but the other I need heat and a breaker bar to get off
Am I not seeing the jackstands?
They are there! Jack in the middle and a stand on each side. While safety isn't always #1, it is very important.
My truck is in the same shape. Maybe worse. I don't know if it's worth it. I wish I can keep it alive a few more years like you.

The "white stuff" is Salt.
Last thing I wanna do is cut my bolts

One of the biggest piece of junk GMC ever made, beds fly off sometimes from the rust.
Yeah. Especially when the truck lived in New England. Salt is not its friend at all.
