Hi Your videos are amazing. I have a question! The cam shafts (TIMING CHAIN SIDE) have 4 holes where the oil passes through. Do you have to bring the holes together when installing the two gears please?
No. Unlike some camshaft sprocket designs, these sprockets are not keyed to the camshaft. Simply install them on the camshaft, install a new bolt, and torque to specification. MAKE SURE YOU USE NEW BOLTS!
Hey, my "lifter" is unseated on the exhaust side. I purchased a car, with cylinder four having no compression and opening up the top I see that the one of the two lifters is not in place, it's attached on one side, but not the valve/spring side. Any advice?
Thank you for the video. I'm currently doing the same job on my N16 head. Would you mind sharing where you got your gasket kit and which gaskets came with said kit?
I got the valves from eeuroparts.com/ Timing chain, gaskets and other bits came from Rockauto.com. I used Melling components. Rock Auto sells a timing chain and component kit.

Yes, you probably dropped a valve seat...very common problem with this engine.
