You should get yourself to Greenock to look at Cappielow Park the home of Greenock Morton, historical shipbuilding town with a lovely little stadium
Inverness and Ross county up in the highlands beautiful place and veiws up here
Definitely, I did Elgin recently but ICT and Ross County should be soon!
On the list!
Probably a pipe dream, but if you ever went to Inverness and wanted to visit one of the most remote areas in Scotland a trip over the sea to the Western Isles would be very interesting.
No big clubs, just a variety of smaller clubs who I’m sure would be grateful to have you and have equally as much history as some large clubs with connections to many of the large clubs around Scotland.
On the island of Eriskay stands one of the most unique pitches in the world: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-32824967 which FIFA designated as one of the eight strangest football pitches in the world.
As well as this, in Stornoway there is the largest Rangers supporters club in the world which has a lot of club memorabilia and many former players visit.
We would be grateful to have you and no one would turn you away!
Dundee is a hugely underrated city by many people in the UK.
But it's nice that someone such as yourself is giving the city this exposure.
The Square sausage is often known as a "Lorne sausage". Unlucky for you that day that they were sold out.
Used to walk up that street every week to buy ma hash 👍
I can get you a good deal
What is hash you don't smoke it
Better than going to watch either of those teams.
😂😂
I don't think u mean hashbrowns
The statues are those of Desperate Dan, his dog Dawg and Minnie the Minx, characters from The Dandy comic published by D.C. Thomson in Dundee.
I’m a Chinese lived in Dundee for 10 years. It’s an amazing city. Dundee is my second hometown now
Nice! Hope you enjoyed the video!
We'll stay there and don't come to A, Deen
@@stephenmcphail4291 no one wants to go to Aberdeen ffs 😂

Scotland is the only country to have had two teams from two cities compete in the European Cup semi final....Celtic & Rangers from Glasgow and Dundee United & Dundee from Dundee
Good stat!
What year did rangers get to a European cup semi?
@@diggers7169 Twice, 1960, and 1993. Celtic 1967,1970,1972,1974. Dundee 1963, Dundee Utd 1984, and for good measure Hibs made it to the semis in 1956. Sad to say, but with football being all about money nowadays, it will be a long time before a Scottish team makes it that far again.
True, but England has had the 2 Manchester teams, and 3 from London, Arsenal, Spurs, and Chelsea.
Fenderkev there was no semi final in 1993. It went from group stages straight to the final
Loved this film. As a Dundonian now living in the Netherlands was great to see. ...... I even saw my old flat 😅😅😅 great memories of football in Dundee. United beating Barcelona & Roma and Dundee beating AC Milan
Thanks for that. I live in Canada now but was born and bred in Dundee. My uncle Alec Hamilton played for that successful 60's D. F. C. team and the Scottish national team also and I was at the game in '87 when Kevin Gallagher scored a cracker for Dundee United against Barcelona! Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Nice! No worries, glad to hear you enjoyed it!
my pal led me to this comment & i was surprised to see it as i still live in Dundee with my family. Alec Hamilton is my grandad, my mum, aunties & uncle are his kids, what’s your name mate?
Dundee is a place like no other. The 360 degree view from the Law Hill is incredible. You have incredible views for miles all around. Then you have the Waterfront which looks amazing especially with the 2 bridges and the views over to Fife. You are then only 10 minutes on the bus to gorgeous little Broughty Ferry and the beach! There is still a lot more that could be done but most of the schemes have all been replenished with new housing so they all look so much better. You are never far from anything in Dundee and you will find some really nice parks dotted around the city. Also, have a walk up the Perth Road and just look at those views across the Tay. For all the bad press Dundee gets, you will be shocked by just how much it has to offer. The nightlife in Dundee used to be amazing but like most places it has died a death. Really enjoyed the video. Glad you seem to have enjoyed the delights Dundee has to offer. Cheers 👍
Thanks so much for the info! Sounds like there's a lot more of Dundee I need to see. More reason to go back I suppose :)
@@FootyAdventures there's also loads of Junior Clubs to check out in Dundee such a s Violet, Lochee United, Lochee Harp, North End, Downfield, Broughty Athletic, etc
When I was a wee girl in the 60s ,my Dad would take us kids to watch football. He supported both teams Dundee .and Dundee United which meant we watched a game each week . My hubby of 47 years is a die hard dark blue , x
Oh cool! I hope it brought back some good memories!
I am from Birmingham and here most English people have a favourite Scottish team. It's always either Rangers or Celtic but I've always followed Dundee United. Dundee has produced the best Scottish football team and also the best Scottish Rock Band too, The View !
Best Scottish rock band ~ AC/DC Angus & Malcolm Young Rangers fans from Glasgow. Bon Scott born 15 miles from Dundee 👍
@@robertfernie1500 Just opinions bro,
The view; I will give them a listen
I live just up the road from both stadiums. Its a pain getting parked when its match day but its great hearing the chants
I’ve had a great pleasure in working for both of these clubs one as coach for mental health football team ran by United and as a bar supervisor for Dundee FC, the inside of both of these stadiums are amazing Dundee I feel has a more historic feel to it, has lots of dark wood in there lounges my favourite was to work in the lounge where all the executive people used to go until I drop a whole tray of pints and was put to work in the lounge full of all the fans, i was only 16 and never new that pints where heavy,
Both these clubs hold a very special place in my heart from going to watch Dundee as a kid, with my grandad and going to work along side untied and Dundee, they are very community spirited, making sure there players engage in local projects and business, if you want a interesting subject look for the mental health teams in Scotland some of the teams are amazing especially the ones backed from big clubs.
Bob Shankly also managed Stirling Albion in the 1970s. Their ground was called Annfield Park and they played in an all red strip. Quite a coincidence as his brother Bill managed Liverpool at the same time
Yeah, such a strange coincidence!
Born and raised in Canada, but have fam in Dundee. Been there 4 times. Absolutely love it there. Great city. Love wearing tangerine on a Saturday. 😉
Honestly loved that im from scotland so im loving these types of videos keep up good work!

Please do consider it. Plenty to see and do over here. I would also love to visit Iceland; I have only ever heard good reviews.
Well, it’s about as warm as Iceland !!
I've just started a Football manager playthrough with Dundee United and went onto RUclips to find some suitable videos to get me into the Dundee United mindset whilst i am playing and discovered your channel. Excellent video, have subscribed and look forward to exploring the rest of the videos on your channel
Great post mate. Grew up in Dundee but now live in Australia. Used to attend Clepington Primary which was at the far end of Sandeman St which is the street the George Fox stand is on at Tannadice. I've supported Utd since I was first introduced to football as a wee lad. Many great memories of going to games there, and a few at Dens too, most famously when Utd won the league in 1983. Love your vids, thanks for posting. Cheers.
Thanks for watching mate and glad you're liking the vids. I also lived in Oz for a while.... miss my morning sunrise view over bondi so much 😩 thanks again, more vids coming soon!
Loved my visit to Dundee in July 2018
I’m a groundhopper and I went on a Scotland groundhopping tour and Dundee Fc was my favourite ground I visited on that trip. Would love to go back for United
Love a bit of groung hopping! Cant wait til I can get inside these stadiums!
I asked a local where the grounds were & he asked which one did I want ! I managed to get into Dens & sit in that beautiful old stand. It's so hilly around there I'm amazed they found two level playing fields.
Although Tannadice isn't that level!
Love the videos mate. Glad you have such an appreciation for Scottish football
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching!
Love your travels, glad the channel is doing well.
Even though I've been 99% of these places I still enjoy the vids!

Brilliant insight to Dundee and our city's two teams. Obviously, United are the powerhouse, but the Dees do pretty well too. That's me now subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good work!

Utd a powerhouse 😂😂😂
Love you content and your vibe is so calm best football you tuber and come on the reds!
Great Video! I really enjoyed the facts and the views (of course). Honestly, i dont know how some people aren't subbed with the bell
Born in Dundee and lived opposite Dundee’s stand on the top floor and all you can see is the roof. Became a United supporter as a boy because Dundee were so snobbish they would not let me view the players at practice whereas United in the second league at that time in their rickety wooden stand had no problems letting me in to view the players.
I remember the strips used during their games starting with the two narrow hoops at chest height, then they went to all white with black trim, there was an all black strip that they used once that was apparently a mistake by the supplier, plus a checkered black and white large squares that was never seen again. Bummer for me when I bought the scarf with the two white strips and they changed to tangerine.
Fond memories of Dundee, now retired in the Philippines.
Great videos bro. Love scottish football and their history. Following some of the clubs myself. Partick Thistle, Heart of M., Inverness etc. Would be great to meet someday, watch a game and have a couple of beers once all has reopen again. Cheers from Germany
Much appreciated! Cheers I hope I can get over to Germany soon!
Cool blog ,Dundee United through my bones but family so split, well done great video , I live in the canaries now and absolutely love seeing footage of home gracias amigo
Excellent video about my fine city - it's great to hear someone say many good things about the place.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I am from Cupar in Fife, but live in Philadelphia. Cupar is 10 miles from St Andrews and 10 miles from Dundee, but I have only ever taken people to St Andrews. This inspired me to definitely go to Dundee next time. My first game was United vs Rangers Dec 1978, we lost 3-0:) I went to Dens and Tannadice so many times before I was "allowed" to goto Ibrox. Remember the grounds, but not the city - great video Sam.
Good watch mate. You should do some of the more obscure places in Scotland, like the Highland league. I stayed in Buckie for a few years and went to a Buckie thistle v devronvale match to see what it was like, and it was an apparent rivalry and very heated. Great history and lovely scenery up north, much like Elgin.
The "cartoon" statue you saw was of Desperate Dan, an iconic character from the Dandy comic. Both "The Dandy" and "The Beano" were published by DC Thomson, based in Dundee.
Cool thanks for the info!
And created in that marvellous building you were admiring opposite the McManus Galleries. Not the school, next to that, but the school did inspire the creation of the Bash Street Kids.
@@BeanoMark Its often said that Dundee High school playground inspired the Bash Street Kids but I have my doubts. Leo Baxendale, the cartoonist who created the strip, lived in Preston and posted the rough idea to the Beano editor in Dundee. He continued to work from home so I dont see how the playground was the inspiration for the strip.
@@frankboyle2643 The Art Department's windows overlooked the Dundee High School and playground. Even if he lived in Preston, he would've visited quite regularly.
@@BeanoMark I worked in the DC Thomson art department in the seventies. The windows were high up and sloping. You could only see out by standing on a pipe that ran along the wall and straining to see over the window ledge. So I still doubt the story about the Bash Street Kids
This is the wholesome content I’ve been looking for
Cheers! More coming soon!
Nice wee video, Dundee’s very much up and coming. I’m a United fan but we go to the same pubs as Dundee fans before and after a derby match. The Caird Hall you were at is a concert hall, it’s small time these days but over the years Queen, the Beatles, Rolling Stones and Sinatra have played there (to name but a few). Dundee has a decent music history too.
Ah cool cheers for the facts! Glad you liked the video gavin!
Very addictive channel, just the 2nd vlog I’ve watched after your search for the Boleyn ground came up on my recommended. I’ve subbed now too. Would be great to see you do a vlog on my club Birmingham with our rivalry against Aston Villa. 2nd city derby is a fierce one!
There is a plaque at the back of the big concert venue in Dundee - (Caird Hall) - showing the exact location where Dundee United FC were formed. There once stood a hotel on the site back in the day.
Great videos mate great to hear more about clubs in my country, shame security is so tight for an honest bloke just looking to share the clubs history
Thanks mate!!
Cracking vid mate thoroughly enjoyed it and amazing how close these 2 grounds are, I'm a baggies fan and i dread to think what it would be like if The Hawthorns and Molineux were that close together lol .
Haha yeah just imagine! Thanks for watching mate

I’ve lived in Dundee all my life now and I think that you should just have a nice stroll through the city. There is a bus called the 22 which takes you to somewhere called Craigowl View and if you walk down the road towards Bridgefoot you get amazing views of the city and countryside
Cool! I really need to come back. There seems to be lots more to explore

As someone from dundee, Dundee United made it to the semi final in the champions league against roma in 1984 they won 2-0 in the first leg at home in the second leg they lost 3-0 and it got figured out that roma paid the ref to make wrong decisions that cost Dundee United a final against Liverpool 😢
I first came to Scotland from south of the border at the very end of August 1991 for a few days. After driving as far as Inverness I came down to Dundee and went to see United play Aberdeen at Tannadice. It was a very unusual experience having stood between both grounds. The game was a goalless draw spoilt by some poor refereeing decisions. I stood on the old terracing before the current stand was built and I never forget the view of the stand at the far corner. It was one of the most unusual stands I've seen. The match was played on the same day as Celtic v Rangers and Hearts v Hibs. Looking back, had Queen's Park played at home, I could have gone to Hampden Park instead having already been to the old Wembley. I don't remember much of the town center back then but it does look pretty on your video.
Sounds great! Makes me want to see a match there soon! Thanks very much for watching 🙂
I know the stand you're talking about I remember watching on TV and thinking what the fuck
Loved the video and was really entertaining. I am on the tangerine side (we dont do orange) but you certainly done a great job show casing the City.

I was fortunate to attend most of the big European games in the 80s. A particular highlight was beating BMG 5-0. I've also been at all their cup winning games and the league win game in '83.

I never knew those things about the two Dundee clubs !!
Tannadice looks a lovely stadium, a very classy ground full of footballing history.
As a neutral though I prefer Dundee FC - their club colours and the fact that they were formed first seals it - sorry DUFC fans.

Great Video, I am a Dundee supporter along with my father and brother however you are right just like Everton and Liverpool our family is split down the middle as the rest of my family support United (their colour is actually Tangerine). On the European stories Dundee played AC Milan and Dundee United played Roma. It turns out both Italian clubs admitted bribing the referees in their wins, nothing like a bit of Italian corruption. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the comment John! Yeah I've heard about the Italian ref bribing before. Happened to Leeds in the past too I'm sure?
I was actually at the Barcelona game that United won, was quite amazing seeing United turn over them over, our School got a day off when they won in Barcelona, I think half the teachers were hung over.

Did you take the time to look closely at the railway bridge that crosses the River Tay from Fife into Dundee?
The reason I say this is that many years ago the original railway Bridge collapsed into the river Tay and if you look closely enough you can still see the stumps of the old railway bridge on a good day, just underneath the new bridge but a tad to the West.
Best seen from the Dundee side of the river.
Hope you come back and get a look around soon
Me too mate! Thanks for watching and dropping a few comments 🙌
