David Haye vs Tony Bellew, was a boxing match in the heavyweight division. The bout was held on 4th March 2017, at the O2 Arena in London, England. The event was televised live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK. The bout started as a stalemate until the sixth round, when Haye injured his achilles tendon, causing him to fall twice. Bellew then took control of the fight as Haye opted to continue. Bellew knocked Haye down and out of the ropes late in the eleventh round. Haye managed to make it to his feet, but his corner threw in the towel, giving Bellew a TKO win.

The moment Eddie hearn tries to hug bellew after the fight is just pure comedy gold
eddie snarled at him as he got rejected, priceless 🤣🤣🤣
Just for that I got to save this video
Looook
Eddie's Ego left the chat!
@@mixalisstathis274 Eddie looked like Roy cropper lol also Tony pushed away his coach before Eddie think he wanted to see haye
@@GooeyAlien True sportsmanship.
Eddie hearns face when bellew threw his arms off him mid celebration
Haye was a shadow of the fighter he was
The amount of missed punches in this fight for 2 Pro boxers is crazy, couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo
I've never heard that before..what a funny combo😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@deanharrison162 I used to know a farmer who used to use that one 😂
Was like a fight in the local boozer on a Saturday over who’s getting served first 😂
Big up to Tony Bellew, for disregarding everyone else and going straight over to David Haye , to show him respect .
How david haye walks while having that big a set of balls is beyond me. Achilles tendon in absolute bits and probs in agony still fights till the very end all while taking some big shots and throwing some too, haye is the definition of a warrior
After the toe thing I think he just refused to give up. Also think he binned mcguigan for throwing the towel
Well, you saw how he walks. He was walking like he'd shat himself and didn't want to make his ass any more caked up than it had to be
It wasn't the heel it was the knee.
The right one went and it kept giving way...the adrenaline lasted for 5 minutes then the reality set in
TB is a true Gentleman.. Respect to Haye for battling on for nearly 6 rounds with such an injury 💪👌
Achilles tendon reputure and still pushes forward for 5-6rds. What a warrior David Haye!
I think you got warrior wrong, you mean womaniser
@@barbarasmith3881🤡
@@barbarasmith3881 A warrior and a womaniser. Sounds like a win win situation to me.
@@barbarasmith3881shut up you silly woman
His knee buckled on his left near the start aswell knee ligaments?
Tony’s face when he realises hayes hurt bad … priceless never gets old 😂

Literally my favourite bit
@@user-tu2vn3pb3i1:34
He was like.. Oh is that right?
@@anthonythompson12literally 😂
Tony has to be the most honourable and respectful boxer out there bar none.
More swings from Haye than a local park 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Sometimes in life we win while we lose. This is one of these rare moments. Respect to David Haye, a true warrior!!!
Fair play for sticking in there!
Haye had a zimmer frame in this.
@@freakybeaky1 No.
Every respect for tony when he new he had him beat the job was done and the respect and not self celebration instead he was only intrested to see david haye was ok you could see when he pushed away some of his own team celebrating 💯
I was never a big fan of haye more so for his out of ring antics but he showed a massive heart in this brutal fight, credit where credit is due.
Fair play to David Haye, an absolute warrior. Still powering through despite having a broken echilles heel
I can guarantee that he did not have a broken or fully torn achilles heel, you are NOT walking or even pushing off from that injury, I have had it, minor partial tear perhaps but not full blown
@jasonlee4267 still makes him a warrior, however severe the tear it would be agonising
@@jasonlee4267cheers dr
@@jackhoward10the guy is an absolute patty outside the ring though 😂
If he had a major rupture of the tendon he would have been on his knees. I ruptured mine and fell straight to the floor instantly, my foot was just flopping about as if it was not attached to anything. I couldn’t walk and was off work for four months. Bloody painful until I got a ski boot on it.
I miss bellews fights i always supported him he was limited but just went in and had a tearup and there was some great nights and he could lay you out if he caught you he was a far smarter fighter than he gets credit for , we need characters like him in the sport we need the anger and the crazy buildups its not the same now with people like him gone and you dont know if you can believe the tearups in the lead up to the ksi fights ect are real
Although not a David Haye fan I take my hat off to him for the courage he showed and never giving up.
What a warrior haye was, fought on with one leg not even working
Haye had been finished at this point for about five years.
Haye had never actually started in the first place.
@@gsimon123wasted talent. Loved the party life. Same with Billy Joe Saunders another one
@@gsimon123 he was an animal at cruiser in his haye day.
@@gsimon123unified cruiserweight champion stepped up to become wba heavyweight champion to make him a two weight world champion. Only the second man to do it after evander holyfield. He also holds the world record for giving away the most weight to an aponent and winning. Not bad for someone who never got started.....
@@fullenglishbreakfast3289 wasted talent 🤣🤣 one was undisputed cruiserweight and ring magazine champion also won a world title at heavyweight and the other was a 2 time world champion with 1 loss 🤣🤣
I was gutted watching this fight live, really wanted to see Haye in the mix again with people like AJ and Wilder. Watching it back you can see slow he was here compared to his campaign 2009-2012. In his prime Haye was one of the fastest, most explosive heavyweights ever!
That's a fact David Haye was a problem 🔥🔥🔥
Indeed bro 💯🫡
Amazing bravery by Haye and the respect between them at the end. ❤❤ An incredible spectacle and I'm glad neither of them were permanently hurt. Gladiatorial.
Count was a bit harsh. He'd tangled up in the ropes lol
The towel was thrown in mate... the count was irrelevant
How did haye miss every shot apart from the one on the back of the head 😂😂😂
Great Respect at the end . Like
Haye punches like me in one of my nightmares when i cant hurt someone 😂
Whole fight was such a con, haye knew he was injured for the second fight. A prime haye would have destroyed him
Yawn
Deluded
In your dreams probably
HAYE WAS SWINGING WILD EARLY
Haye showed some metal there , both men fought well 🥊
Embarrassment struggling to take out a man on 1 leg...So sD to see haye end like this he was way past hes haye maker dayz...Good to see Haye & Bellew are friends now 2023 👊🏼❤️
Embarrassment? Take a look in the mirror lol you're delusional.
The fact he stayed on his feet after that rupture is insane.
It's common knowledge now, that David Haye was injured coming into this fight, and even more injured for the rematch!
David was strongly advised to retire back in 2013 when his right shoulder was destroyed (Requiring a 5 hour operation to rebuild and reattach his right shoulder) Adam Boothe (His trainer up until then) knew his career had come to and end.
Once his right arm has gone, it's over, you would need to retrain to box as a southpaw or become a different fighter completely.
However David's passion for glory and to reclaim the throne blinded him from the cold harsh reality that it was time to retire.
Unfortunately his ego allowed Bellew the Bell-end to have a platform and a career off the back of David's name (albeit heavily injured) If he would have retired back in 2013/14 his legacy would have remained intact. (Undisputed Cruiser weight Champion and WBA Heavy Weight Champion of the world).
He should have started a weekly podcast back then (or even now), he would had a few million subscribers by then because he is a great talker, very entertaining and full of charisma, the public would have gravitated towards him in their droves.
Decision mightve been financially motivated too
yeah think his ex wife cleaned him out
@@01samuelc understandable lol
He only took.the Bellew fights because he thought it was easy money and had an expensive divorce
He needed the money, it was borderline fraud taking the second fight when he knew he was injured and not going to be competitive
Haye did have some big stones to carry on fighting after this injury! A lot of people forget that!
That was Brilliant!!
Two great British fighters, thought bellew was crazy for taking this fight at the time.
I had never heard of Tony Bellew until he was in Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! He came across as a very nice, kind, respectful, good natured, non-egotistical lovely family guy! Go "Teddy-T " Go!!! xxx
Miss old David haye
To this fight Haye lost all his speed, which he had against Valuev and Klitschko. Vladimir would have Koed this version of Haye in three or four rounds.
Credit haye his leg was messed up and just didn't want to give up.
Esses homens são muito bons
Hayes Best performance. Unreal heart to keep going with a messed up ankle. He would have won this fight easily if not foe that. Tony still couldn't finish the job wen his ankle went. It took multiple rounds for it to be stopped after. I love Bellew. Great guy
Thanks
Haye lost his legs in round 6 with that leg injury, but fair play to them both. Bellow showed it wasn't just the injury to beat David in the rematch
How was Haye allowed to continue after the 6th?
Because his corner never threw in the towel 🏳️
Haye spent his best years wanting to be a Z list celebrity.
british boxing at its best proper geezers thanks
Big balls from haye he must ave been in agony with snapped Achilles
First time watching the highlights...could never take to Haye but he should a lot of heart there.
This was Haye past his prime. Almost no speed, comparing to his prior fights.
Both outstanding fighters. Watching this in 2023, I'm amazws the ref allowed that fight to reach round seven. Both absolute warriors
Amazing fight 👏
Haye redeemed himself in this fight for the the toe fight a few years earlier, fair play for carrying on with an injury like this!
Not many would of
I was there that night, and seeing bellew telling David he’d had enough and hate shaking his head and throwing again just to go out on his shield is something I won’t forget. Class night and I went in wanting haye to win but bellew was levels above at that point
Eddie Hearn act like he has won 😂
I know he lost but how deep did he dig?
Hayes style from the highlights seems very similar to wilders, or is it just me/highlights?
Nice one bellew anyway 👍
This match is still better then most matches to date , proper fight 👍
Ive seen less hay makers in a R N R undercard. Still, those were some vicious punches.
Haye was so bad on his feet he injured himself.
When Bellow shakes of Eddie Hearn when he has one 😅👍
I like the way he threw Eddie off his back
Without that leg injured david would win !!! Second fight should never happen. He was not fit and that injurie david need more than a year to recover
Haye is one of my favourite fighters, he had some bad luck with injuries etc but in his prime he was very impressive.
Bollocks to a torn Achilles, you couldn’t stand up on a torn Achilles.
He could barely stand up, what you on about.
Maybe not an average guy like you and me, Haye is a pro boxer, pain tolerance and endurance are way beyond your understanding.
This definitely made up for the toe excuse in Germany there was no keeping Haye down he was swinging to the bitter end
1:37 Bellew's face.😳 He notices Haye injury.. Great moment. 👊
Slugfest 😂 slaughter
Hate would have destroyed him couple years earlier look how heavy he moves on his legs clearly injured as much as I loved haye he was finished a couple years before this just had power leg that was it haye in prime years was very very good fighter and would ave stopped bellew
Haye would have won 200 years ago etc.
Never liked Haye - loudmouth punk who always had an excuse when he lost and acted more like a salesman than a fighter. Never backed up his talk in the division. But can't deny he showed courage in these fights. Got to respect that he fought on while hurt, kept coming forward even though he was obviously in serious pain.
David should not have taken the fight. He was clearly not in the physical condition to fight. His lack of speed and mobility were clear indications of this. All he achieved was getting hurt for no good reason.
he needed the money at this time I think. could tell from the first minute he had no balance in his shots.
Watching an old, past it, broken bodied David Haye lose to the likes of Bellew was sickening. No respect to Bellew, but a prime Haye puts Bellew away inside 4
It's like watching bambi on ice😂
Hope Tony got home safe to his family
I think they both punched air more than each other in this fight
More like MMA than boxing from David. Like early Wilder x 10. Crazy fight.
TEDDY T back in the day 😂😂😂
I can't go either of these.
David haye wasn't serious about training at this point , he fought a few bums on terrestrial TV before taking this fight , he wasn't fit and his timing had gone , he should never of retired when he did in my opinion he was in his prime although I know he had a few ops on his bicep and shoulder , should of stuck around and fought fury.
I can just picture Haye vs Wilder, hundreds of punches thrown…. none landing😅
Huge respect for Bellew getting home to wife and kids after this fight
Tony knows the truth fair play Tony u told the truth ❤ Tony bellew ❤❤❤ ur a legend 😊 great stuff ❤
Haye blamed the lost on his other toe
Bellew had a snapping defence return dig, quick and powerful without having to give it to much recoil space before sending it, thats what made him dangerous.... Both had Tenacity of bulldogs, hearts of lions the British way...
Here, David Haye was his own shadow in his prime, Bellew would have had no chance Haye is a great boxer and a great showman, but unfortunately his time has passed - it's high time to take care of his health and enjoy life.
You can’t beat sportsmanship like that ! Respect
I remember this.
You can see haye was too emotionally driven and all over place .
David haye was almos always unbeatable when he followed the game plan.
I like the guy as a boxer
Belle was clever too
He knew how to wind his opponent up pre-fight
❤
Dey do do dat don't dey
Haye utterly shot to pieces YEARS before this fight, Bellew was a average european level fighter who led a charmed life apart from whenever he stepped up and got his hole handed to him.
I think Haye sprained his ankle early.
Just wondering why David keeps falling down with no reason in some of his fights . Remember his fight with Klitschko. Fall down a dozen of times.
David Haye’s best fight
👏
I'm just glad Bellew got home safe to his wife and kids.
Haye took too much punishment there. Towel should have saved him earlier
Two bar room brawlers throwing haymakers, without a hint of defense!
Warriors
The more likeable boxer won 👍👊
A fully fit and prime Gaye would have flattened Bellers
