      Not that I disagree with your statement but sometimes the word technical can mean sterile or without feeling. I just recently stumbled onto this guy within the last week and the thing I’m most impressed by is the emotion he plays with. Most other people playing this type of music sound very bland. This guy is playing the most difficult pieces but somehow they don’t sound difficult or complicated. This guy swings when he plays

      @@TheQuadrum That might be because I always was a rock blues guitar player, I love feeling in music, not speed. Technique is just an essential instrument to play with feeling, technique IS MADE to express feeling. It's not needed otherwise

    • @thiagorisingforce
      @thiagorisingforce 3 года назад +8

      @@TheQuadrum I don't really consider "feeling" to be something apart from technique, it is part of it. In the same way, I don't consider making funny faces while playing to be playing with feeling. A good vibrato, nice dynamics, all of that is technique, and Anton obviously has it all

    your picking is insane man.. incredibly crisp. This Mancuso guy is all the rage.. and I can understand why, he's great (!) .. but he plays with his fingers.. I don't.. therefore I can relate to the difficulty of picking technique with a plectrum more.. there's a difference of attack.. because of that, your playing offers something more gratifying 😀 and I love Bach

    • @thecommenter9267

      @@rsingh1252 A year? No, not even in a lifetime. I've played guitar for 20 years and have seen/heard thousands of guitarists and have been into virtuoso guitar for years now. There is only one person with this guy's technique. It's Anton himself. Let's break it down:
      - One note per string alternate picking at high speeds - probably fewer than 10 guitarists on planet earth have mastered this technique, with no exaggeration. If there were more, you would have seen or heard about them by now.
      - Multiple string palm muting at high speeds - Nino Bettencourt does this well. Anton is the only one I've seen do it in such a way that he actually replicates what a violin sounds like when you are playing chords. Absolutely ridiculous.
      - Left hand articulation. Look how quickly he moves across the fretboard while maintaining 100% accuracy. Watch Anton's video of Paul Gilbert's "Get Out Of My Yard" which Paul said himself would be near impossible to play without the change in tuning. To hit all those notes with accuracy without changing the tuning requires mind boggling left hand speed and accuracy.
      - Dynamic control. Look at how he controls the dynamics of playing from piano to mezzo forte and beyond. If you don't play guitar you wouldn't know how ridiculously difficult this is to do on electric guitar, where even the slightest of movements with your picking hand will make a sound, which is furthermore amplified by a literal amp. His control of dynamics is as good as a seasoned violinist even though it's 10x harder to control dynamics on electric guitar.
      This guy deserves every ounce of ego he has. You have to be a guitarist to understand how much of a monster he is. This isn't about mere "practice". In order to reach this level, I can't even imagine the number of hours he must have put in meticulously analyzing each picking motion. He probably has thousands of hours recording himself and breaking down each muscle fiber that's activated for each possible picking motion, analyzing the exact angle to allow for efficient string skipping, and more. This isn't in the realm of practice. You have to break down the science of efficient technique like a PhD in order to have this kind of mastery.
      I don't know how this guy isn't insanely famous already. He's the most technical guitarist alive in the world today. Show me another person that can play Paganini's 5th caprice at full speed, full alternate picking with correct dynamics.
