Boston is one of the most beautiful US cities, filled with history, and in the most educated State in the Union. Also, the locals don't live in fear of the streets like in NYC. On my first visit as a young female, every time I asked someone if the area was safe they looked at me as if I was crazy. The town feels safe every where and doesn't have the crime other cities have.

The building at 0:57 is a (fancy) furniture store. It used to be a Louis Vuitton store, but now it's a Restoration Hardware store.
40:31 Every year since the revolution, the proclamation of independence is read from the Old State House' balcony on July 4h. Always draws a huge crowd. And after it, folks are invited to go into the Great Hall (in Faneuil Hall) to join independence celebrations.

Welcome from Melrose, Massachusetts, seven miles north of downtown Boston and named after Melrose in the Scottish Borders. Celtic culture is a huge influence in Boston, mostly from Irish immigrants, but also from Highland Scots from the Maritime Provinces of Canada like my ancestors. It's now blended with many cultures from all over the world.

Try to make it to Newport, Rhode Island. Not a long drive from Boston. You won't be sorry. Many Gilded Age mansions you can tour (of families such as the Vanderbilts), charming sea captains homes down near the harbor with lots of restaurants and shops. The Cliff walk along the ocean behind the mansions would be nice in this weather.

Massachusetts is a Native American word. I went to Boston many years ago while in the Navy serving on the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy. The people of Boston showed us a great time! Loved those South Bend ladies! Went to Charlestown, went to Faneuil Hall and the founders Cemetery to see where all of our patriotic leaders made history. And we’re laid to rest. Partied at the purple shamrock. Had lobster rolls and lots of good beer, good times and good memories. We went there for OpSail 2000 which was started by President John F. Kennedy as well.

Can't wait til you get to Las Vegas. Hope you have a meet up there! Boston is one of the best big cities to visit in the U.S. The food scene is amazing, some of the best restaurants. Salem is very atmospheric although it's supposed to be crazy crowded on Halloween.

@@shaunvlog thinking of places with space, decent prices, and great views of the Strip I’d pick Voodoo Lounge at the Rio or the Boulevard Pool at the Cosmopolitan, but they might be under renovation or closed for the season. Great place for locals with lots of atmosphere are the bars downtown or the arts district such at Atomic Liquors, ReBar, and Davy’s, or the fun kitsch at the Golden Tiki off the Strip, but that would be afternoon since it’s too crowded at night

    Have fun tonight.
Make sure you use the 'upcoming' function on your next Boston live stream so I can continue my guided tour.
One thing I strongly suggest.....if you haven't been to Lexington Green and the Old North Bridge in Concord you have missed a HUGE opportunity to see where the fight for independence began. Also given the time of year the foliage will be stunning. Commuter rail out of N Station gets you there.
A suggested walk for you..... Take the T or walk to the Mass General Hospital. Then head due west over the 'salt and pepper' bridge to Cambridge. You will pass MIT, then merge onto Mass Ave which will take you through central sq and then onto to Harvard Sq and the Harvard campus. If you still have energy follow Mass ave to porter square and visit my hometown, Somerville. At any point you are never a few blocks from a T station to get back dtown. Sights & Food heading east..... the MIT media lab, The Druid (pint), The Middle East Club (food, drink and live music), Phoenix Landing (home of the Boston Reds where they will be shoulder to shoulder early for the Brighton match Sat #YNWA ) The Plough and the Stars (best pub in the boston area), Pinocchio's Pizza, Bartley's Burger Cottage (best burger in the area since 1960), The Harvard Coop (enter via the vestibule where I saw Tracy Chapman perform as a busker), The Cambridge Common (where washington took command of the NE Militias during the siege of boston, aka the birthplace of the US Military, The Harvard Yard, Longfellow House (home of the famous poet and Washington's HQ), Beacon Street where the old money of Cambridge lived and eventually Julia Child. If you get to Somerville Davis Sq have a pint at my fav bar, Sligos.
Anyone bothers you during your trip tell them you know Rastellini. They will either be very nice or potentially shoot you.

When you get to Salem, you might not see it because it's out of the way, but on the Main Street where all the shops and activities are, there's a small shopping mall. Inside there's a post office, public restrooms, a few shops and a good Thai restaurant, which is pretty cheap. There are tons of places to have a sit-down meal in that immediate area, but that's a good one
