The fact that he started watching the show out of spite and grew to like a lot of it and the people in it is why he keeps watching. He doesn't even do it for the views. He's talked about how the metrics for his classic wrestling content get way more views than the AEW content.

The use of Lambert feels weird to me. His character is a bitter old school fan who hates what modern wrestling is and the guys he's bumped heads with are Lance Archer, Chris Jericho and now Cody Rhodes. Jericho is a 30 year plus veteran, Archer and Cody wouldn't be out of place in a 90s lockerroom. Shouldn't he be feuding with guys like Orange Cassidy?
It's weird because it obviously sounds so scripted. He needs to make us believe him.
Honestly if Lambert feuded with Cassidy’s stupid group I’d love it if it finally got rid of the best friends group. The comedy stuff between the best friends and then the elite/bucks is just so bad, it’s almost irredeemably bad.
Anyway Lambert is good enough, they just need some better stories I think. They’ve done well with what they’ve been given though. Maybe this will be pretty solid.
