1. After the jumper wire is in, press the power button with foot off brake.
2. Wait 10 seconds then start vehicle with foot on the brake. Keep foot on brake for the entire process
3. Switch from natural to drive two times to cycle oil through the gears
4. Start switching from neutral to drive and watch for the D for drive to stay solid. Remove jumper pin then drain excess transmission fluid. I’ll do a video update

I'm working on a 2021 Highlander XLE. Why cant I just weigh the fluid that came out of the transmission and replace it with the same number of ounces of new fluid? Fluid volume may change but weight should not, correct?
You have a later model. You can measure the fluid at similar temperatures. Measuring works when you are sure the core amount is in the transmission

I’m not sure. Would have to check the manual. But a 2024 model shouldn’t need service yet unless you don’t crazy driving
How is it only 3 quarts to fill back? Toyota says it takes 6 quarts?
that's a complete flush for 6qts. this is for a drain and fill.

I drain my transmission fluid and only about 1 and 1/2 liters came out
@@Slamjam88 sound like you were low on transmission fluid. Check your service manual to see the drain and refill amount. However, I suspect the last person that replaced the transmission fluid didn’t put back the correct amount. Unless you have a leak. Follow the steps in this video and you will be ok

That can be applied to new vehicles and vehicles that you have confidence that the correct amount is there. Sometimes you can’t be sure. This procedure is to ensure the correct amount goes in 🫡
This old school approach only works. If you're sure the correct amount of oil is currently in there. What if the last person to fill it did not put in correct account? What if you have a slight leak somewhere?
