- Today we are taking a look at Sclash, a indie fighting game under the classic 1 hit 1 kill style of gameplay. Newly released on consoles (been on PC since last year) Sclash is a budget priced fighter with some heart to it and is fun to mess around. Its certainly not direct competition for say Street Fighter 6, but if you want a more casual experience anyone can play, watch the vid and see if ya like it!

So today we look at Sclash, an indie fighter that goes under the classic 1-hit 1-kill rule in proper Samurai fashion! Been out for a little bit on PC but its newly out on console so figure this is a good time to take a look and see what the game is about. If you like the old classic bushido style concept of you die for making 1 mistake, in a stylish samurai aesthetic, kinda hard to go wrong, especially cause the game is budget priced! Give a watch and lemme know what ya think!

yeah these style of games are fantastic to help you with the real fundamentals. Too many people focus on combos and stuff and not what really matters
Time to show up and share some fun facts (absolutely for the lab-monsters), I happened to be an alfa tester on this.
It's a pretty funny game and you can absolutely play it with anyone that doesn't wanna commit to larger fgs. That aside, there are a few high level mechanics that we found and the developers decided to leave in. The soul of the game on a high level is kara-canceling. You can kara your attacks into parry and hilt-strike which have a few appications. You can do this with the dodging attacks as well, so you can dodge into parry or hilt-strike, extending their range, doing weird Akuma like teleports or just gaining distance. You may also notice that characters have 2 attacks in a cycle. Kara moves actually move the cycle so you can mix between single attack and double attack with the character Amaterasu for example.
It's actually a pretty nice game for labbing.

@@chiefbeef3196 pressing two buttons really quick, so that the second cancels the firsts action. this is really good with ama and iza bc ama's forward cut has invul, and pommeling is half izanagi's gameplan so what you do is hold forward then press cut then pommel almost simultaneously, and you should see your character slide forward as they pommel

This is games looks really nice! A nice little change of pace from T8 & SF6 from time to time...this the perfect game to play when your waiting for your flight in the airport

I played this game at EVO 2023 and bought it immediately. It was really fun playing at the booth and talking to the devs. In top of all that, it’s memories.

Vary your approach, don't be too predictable. From a guy who got bodied 30 times in a day playing this game

It'll be a long while til we ever get something that matches Bushido Blade more closely but this'll do
BB wasn't just one-hit kills as it also allowed you to use the large 3D environment to get the upper hand like making tactical retreats or obtaining the high ground

Die By The Blade releases 16th may. You should definitely check this game too as a one-hit fighter. Also, I'd gladly hear your point of view about Hellish Quart, as a one-hit fighter ^^

Check out 'Blades Of Gory' if you like indie fighting games. That has a 1 hit 1 kill mode as an option.
Die by the Blade came out a couple of days ago. It's 3D and seems to have a Sclash-meets-Dark Souls vibe to the combat.
It looks cool. Most 1-hit-ko-ish fighters tend to have really quick rounds and not much content so they feel a little too repetitive to dedicate much time for it, but this one seems to have a decent degree of depth to defense and not immediate kills back and forth. Which can be fun, but really only for a short while.

Looks like a cool, simple fighter, aesthetically pleasing, especially considering its budget! Guess I'll have to consider getting it on the Switch if I need a way to pass time while I'm away from home.
I always thought it would be super sick to make a starwars fighting game with Jedi and Sith that was a one hit game. I thought a really cool mechanic to make the game neat would be that there would be no blocking, but every attack had a collision hit box so if you both attacked and the hit boxes connected you would clash and nobody would get hit. Think like dragon ball fighterz but way more likely to happen, and idk if you would be able to cancel out of the clash. I think the concept could be really cool and feel like a real lightsaber duel

I bought this like last week on PC. It's honestly kinda dope. It's like if Bushido Blade was a 2D fighter and didn't want to make your eyes bleed.

I want 3D fighter like Tekken with no lows or grabs and more of an emphasis on movement. It would probably flop/be terrible but I'd love to see it and play it.

Why sclash and not the Game that Sclash is based on? (One Strike)
Can you please look at One Strikes successor Two Strikes, it‘s a really fun game, that is using only the basics, just like sclash, but aesthetically looks better and gameplay is better in my opinion. :)
