Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble: Live From Austin, Texas
#stevierayvaughan #voodoochild #reaction
That is one thing you can say about Stevie if he does a cover of a song he gives it his all and shows respect to the original artist. He does put his own spin on it and if you didn’t know it was a cover you would swear up and down it was the original singer.
Resse is going crazy on the bass, and so is Chris Layton. They're very nice guys and my brother, who's in professional music, has jammed with them a ton of times. They're truly humble guys, as was Stevie.
Stevie always! He is the goat!😍😎😍
Beautiful thing is you don’t have to choose. But…IMO SRV the GOAT 🐐
My man Stevie, he "take yall to SCHOOL" .. and he "PREACH IT, BRAH!!"
( John, age 63, retired in Philippines)
And he walks away guitar slung over his shoulder...just another day at the office. Great reaction, and another young Stevie Ray fan is born. It's like an awakening, isn't it? When he points that guitar's head to hell, you know he means business. (how many guitar's do you hear, excluding bass?) Stevie's best friend, Tommy Shannon on bass, he's amazing. Always got his eye on Stevie. Chris' drumming on this track, perfection. This was one tight band of brothers. Gotta check SRV for my Voodoo Chile preference here. Both him and Jimi are legends. Both had swagger and style, also love their voices. ☮️ to all.
it's the only way he could have ended this performance. Turning his head from a stunned audience slinging his guitar over his shoulder and walking off stage. Perfect
Stevie was the real deal. Blew us away when he broke
YESSS!!! MUCH BETTER!!!
The pedal he's using in this song was Jimmy Hendrix and he asked Jimmy's Father if he could borrow it to use in this song and Jimmy's Father gave it to him and told him to keep it and use it . Check it out and don't take my word for it if you doubt it .
It’s Jimi
I very much enjoyed your reaction to SRV's version of VooDoo Child, and yes, I would pick it to any Version from Hendrix everytime.
Jimi invented it, Stevie perfected it.
I just cannot say I like one more than the other. 🎶✨🤩🎶🎸✨🎶✨🎶
Another excellent reaction vid, man. 🤘😏🎶🎶🎶
Confidence comes from preparation. SRV has done enough preparation for two lifetimes.
Dude I love your reactions. I'm 47 been playing guitar since I was 12. Keep it turned up!
Great reaction. If you want more SRV, and to see some of his versatility, then I would recommend two performances in particular: Mary had a Little Lamb, from the same show as this one (live in Austin, Texas), as well as Life Without You, live at the Capital Theatre, New Jersey. Both are unbelievable. Life Without You starts a little slower but is well, well worth the full listen/watch.
Tommy Shannon on bass and Chris Layton on drums.
When two players are hitting "15" on a ten-point scale, it's probably just best to call them both Guitar Gods and let it go at that. Great reaction...great respect.
Great reaction to a master! From my recollection, the wah pedal he was using used to belong to Hendrix himself.
Can I recommend Dream Theater - "Illumination Theory (Live From the Boston Opera House?")
3:36 long live stevie,,,he died in 1990 in a chopper crash
Better than Jimi for sure 👍🏻
Check out SRV live in Nashville 1987 Voo Doo Child.
Do the Nashville one where he does VooDoo Childe behind his back.
Respect for Jimi but i as a guitar player choose SRV version anytime.
Bad choice if you ask me.
@@hesch-tag Lol
@@hesch-tag technically i choose stevie as well.. But i think Jimi was more creative with his art.. Also, I dont think jimi ever got to reach his prime which is unfortunate..
All in on Stevie's versions....
Jimi made it. Stevie made it musical.
80's was good time. Play it don't spray it.
Do steve vai next tender surrender next ,live you wont regret it...bro
It's a pretty good cover version, if rhythmically rather stiff. Virtuoso guitar playing but lacking in the musicality of Hendrix.
try malmstein black star live , and u see something
I personally am a huge fan of Stevie Ray Vaughn - with the exception of his Jimi Hendrix covers. I way prefer Jimi’s original of this song as well as Little Wing. Can’t perfect on perfection. Sorry. Just my opinion. ❤️🤟 Love Stevie though
Ya know what really sucks? Both of these talents have passed on.
Ok, this will blow you away. Don't research this guy, just watch the video. Search for
"Jeff Healey 1988"
The 1st result should be the Night Music video of his song "See the Light".
Jeff is a Canadian blues guitarist and singer with a very unique style of playing.
After you watch that, I'll show you another SRV love performance that you will love. Deal?
Get that up ASAP
No way, check out the Woodstock, Royal Albert Hall, Maui or Berkeley versions. They are all superior and all done by Jimi Hendrix. jimi just doesn't play the same version every time either.
neither does stevie so maybe know ur facts before opening your mouth.
@@messi5601 I know what I am talking about. SRV always played more or less the same way. Even when he improvised it was quite predictable. Jimi always came up with new ideas, new melodies, new licks and sometimes even incorporated pieces of other songs into it. He kept it fresh and interesting. He was never predictable.
@@hesch-tag thats some first class bullshit 🤣🤣.
@@messi5601 Yeah well done using those emoticons. SRV was great but nowhere near Jimi's genius. Typically SRV fans either don't have the musical intelligence or are too stubborn to acknowledge that. Now take a long way on a short pier.
@@messi5601 Jimi couldn't carry SRV piss bucket
