**MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT FOR ANYONE WHO HASN’T WATCHED IT!!**
Hii kris! Love ya
love you kris
ooooooo! the show was so good
Hi kris the stalkers 😂
Hi kris, I love your channel :D I watched oopmaville too before you guys got together and I love the vids you make together! Yall r the best
When the cop said: “Well, why didn’t you report it?” I literally shouted at my screen. Cops like that are EXACTLY when male victims don’t come forward.
Yes, I was yelling at my screen too!
My keys were stolen a few years back. I did know who stole them, so I reported it to the police, who told me that unless I had photographic or video evidence of the theft taking place, they weren't interested in investigating. Three weeks later, my building was robbed. ...like all the storage lockers were cleared out of anything valuable. But I watched this same police department swarm a guy who accidentally forgot to pay for a bag of gummy bears (he paid for everything else in his cart). The police confiscated the gummy bears as "evidence," then ate the "evidence" while they were loading the guy into one of the many police cruisers that had showed up for this, and discussed among themselves which gummy bear flavor is the best. Police serve an important function in our community. I mean, who else is going to keep us safe from all those illicit gummy bears hitting the streets? Robbery at your home, violence, stalking, call somebody else, but if you've got a gummy-bear-based crime on your hands, call those boys in blue.
It's like its caused on purpose. That brings our anxiety levels really high
@@solene2014 un peu plus tard que d'habitude, je me tenais au courant sur d'autres chaînes. Mais à part ça, je t'aime ma fille 🤗
They say that to women as well. They're just dumb.
I don't understand how people can go so far to stalk someone. I feel awkward enough if I accidentally follow the same car for more than one turn.
omg YES! Same 😅

Didn't she sexually assault him ?
+😂😂 me to,. Even worse if it's going past my rural camp and I've followed them for 25km😂.
Or when u daydream and UR STARING AT SOMEONE😭😭😭🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
the fact that the actor is the actual guy in real life that faced all of this and had to go through all this again just for the show is crazy to me he's really brave for that
I hope it gave him some closure and healing 💛
When I saw the "behind the scenes/making of the movie" I was so confused bc I'm thinking, that looks like the actor but kinda different hairstyle, is that him? Wait is that his story??
I completely 100% understand and respect his decision to do it himself. We all heal our own way. (Truthfully it is frustrating reading comments online about people shitting on him for playing himself - as a victim myself I can understand his logic.)
He wrote it. He didn't have to do anything, he chose to. This was his outlet, this was how he could cope.
No way is he really
@@anniesternberg2983 yes
The end is when Donny realised that him feeling sorry for Martha and giving her a free drink wasn't the reason for Martha's actions and that any nice person would've helped her too, hence when the bar man gave Donny the free drink he looked at the bar man the way he did (not bc he was becoming like Martha 😭 I was confused by the ending too so that's why I explained for those who didn't either)
Thank you for this closure - I was really confused about the ending!
@@NoSubtext yww
He was listening to the recording where she explained her childhood trauma and explained why she called him "baby reindeer".
I think that, at that point, he also recognised that she was broken, just like he was, but she resorted to obsessing on others and stalking them
He said he was "trying to understand Martha" when his ex visited him. At the end, when he was offered that drink, he finally understood her. He was offered a kind gesture while at the lowest point of his life. Just like she was. I think that's why he smirked, he could finally give up his obsession trying to figure her out and take his life back.
@@Alex-ym5oxoooh damn thanks now that made me understand the ending
That she is suing Netflix when Netflix made no inference to who the real "Martha" is means she is basically admitting she did it.
Not to mention if she does sue Gadd or Netflix for defamation part of their defense would be to prove the accusations to be true. Gadd would be forced to release all of the emails, texts, etc to the court. All of this will be publicly available information. So it wouldn't really be a good idea for her to do that imo
actually they did use real things in the show that tied her to the show. people found her and were harassing her and threatening her.
@@kennaelpisThere wouldn’t have been a way to find her if she hadn’t done it in the first place. She drew that map and signed it herself.
@@daniellerose7579 That's just not true. Tiktok detectives found her before she came out publicly
@daniellerose7579 Really? So if someone you've met make a show with Netflix then use an actress that will play you, with your accent and your look and the character has your origin plus they use a few exact same tweets you had written ( that does show you are a stalker) which are easy to find online, easy to think that the character is you... does that make you the actual stalker. Really? Thankfully justice is not that simple minded. People are weird. Not too long ago the world was making and believing lies all over social media on Princess Kate and here we go again. Netflix says "it's a true story" at the start of the show but they're still yet to release her criminal record although it would be easy and legal. The journalists who are now investigating this story have yet to find a criminal record on her. "Martha" is claiming that she has none. That's a very important part of "this is a true story" show. The show is about harassment and people online keep harassing this woman without knowing if it's true or not. The actor/producer has not talked since. Netflix speaker has very recently given a new version... true story WITH fictional elements which would make it to me ...a story BASED on true events... not the same thing at all with the first version.
And now that they're being sued by her they play the silence game.
At some point in the show his trans girlfriend who is a psychologist or something like that tell him... I know you like to entertain drama... He certainly does.
Okay but the woman who played Martha in the show did such a good Job, I completely forgot she was acting half the time.
Fr. Her eyes, the way she looks, the way her lips smile creeply, the way her voice shivers
It makes her look so unstable!!
Her name is Jessica Gunning, and she deserves to win awards with how well she presented Fiona Harvey without even knowing the woman.
Yes! Phenomenal performance. She nails two different accents and not only portrays a staggering array of emotions, but manages to flip between extreme emotions in a terrifying and believable manner.
There was this quote from Heather Burns (one of Fiona's victims) that stuck with me: "Why is everyone tiptoeing around her and her needs, rather than asking who else has she hurt? Who else has she done this to? What about them?"
Sir Keir Starmer for one. 276 nasty emails. Calling him and his wife.
And a comedian called Janey (also a Scottish woman, but I can’t remember her surname but I think it begins with a G?) who very sadly has stage 4 CA, and I hope that her coming forward with her own story doesn’t get any more harassment.
@@TheDonna200it’s janey Godley, a Glaswegian comedienne. Aye Fiona was obsessed with her for a while too. Some of the messages were nasty. More people have spoke up saying fiona harassed them too, she is a nut job who lives in a fantasy world. Scary thing is, she believes her reality is real. Eeek.
I haven’t watched it, but I saw someone say that the scene where he can’t pay his drink so the bar tender gives it to him for free symbolizes how even when put in her position, he would never do what was done to him, showing how just because he did a kind thing doesn’t mean he deserved to be stocked and that lowkey healed something in me
The stalker is so odd, why go on tv like that just to make yourself more visible?
I really respect the victim's choice to keep his boundaries with her steadfast
It’s all about attention. They thrive on it.
It’s cause she’s apparently the victim of being stalked herself by people who believe his “lies”. She just wants the attention and validation because she’s a narc.
Definitely all for attention. She's not stable and he was kind enough not to reveal her identity to prevent any stress toward her but I guess she came forward
She's a textbook narcissist. She did it for the attention and hopes that she could win over enough flying monkeys to feed her ego.
@@juliyar1670he didn't reveal it, but ironically, watchers of the show sleuthed her out. And then she reacted in the worst way possible.
I have so much respect for Richard Gadd. This series had a big impact on me, as a person who’s been stalked and survived multiple cases of s/a. His bravery to talk about what happened to him as well as relive it through his character is astounding.
Same, It was really triggering to watch but it made me feel less alone, I'm really proud of him for being able to put himself into a show like that.
I hope only good things come your way from now on
The scene where Donny comes out to his parents & how beautifully gut wrenching his parents responses were, had me in tears.
Thanks for covering the show Chris, it touches on some really important/powerful themes.
Yeah I cried during that scene. Especially with the fact that his father could relate.
I bawled, especially his father's response 😭❤️
Such a beautiful part of the show, truly touching.
Literally all Fiona going on Piers Morgan did, was reinforce how accurate Jessica Gunning's portrayal was 🤣
this case has got to be, and still is, one of the most confusing yet intriguing case of stalking. the Netflix show was so good and i’m so happy your covering it!
Netflix is being sued by her for false info on the show
I did see people kinda missing the point as of why he made this series. Some saying he tried to play the victim but he is as much to blame. He clearly stated he was partially to blame in all of this. He was very open to that and I appreciated that very much because we all have good and bad inside us. It was indeed a different kind of way to tell a story that has much pain in it. It's sad that some missed that part of it. Also it must have worked very cathartic for him to replay these events. Kudos to him because I am not sure I would wanna relive certain parts of my past. Hope it healed him a bit to the point he can finally move on from it.
Yess so well said🫶🏻🫶🏻
yes like how can people say he was playing victim when he admitted and put out the weird/bad stuff he did himself!
On the topic of reliving the past. I don't dream much. But when I do they are doosies ( marijuana smoker).
I have dreams like I'm still in high-school, other dreams about my teeth crumbling out of my mouth( which HAS basically happened)
Then dreams about smoking other illicit substances, it ryhms with smack. Now it's been al.ost two decades since I smoked it. I had a relapse about three years ago for almost a year. So about three years sober from the relapse.
I totally agree. I was actually talking about this with some of my friends. I truly think that Richard is a victim even though people think he’s just chasing clout. People would be a lot more upset if the gender roles were reversed. I’m really glad you brought up this point. ❤
There are no perfect victims, that's what predators bank on.
The show is refreshing in that it illustrates that real life is very rarely a straight line. It's nuanced, messy, twisty, and complicated.
That's life. It's validating to see it played out on a show.
I feel like her going on the show was her way of telling him it’s not over till she says it is. He tried to protect her identity and she brought herself out. The way she acts though definitely shows everything he said was true. She acts just like the show.
This show had me messed up. And the interview with the real Martha was insane. So happy you’re covering this

I think the ending scene was meant to show just how simple the act was - all he did was give her a cup of tea. We often think these stories are too crazy and would never happen to us. But after everything that happened in the show, it ends with the same act happening to someone else now, demonstrating how vulnerable we all truly are to these experiences.
This was so sad yet so informative. Also he didn't say it was all her, he did own his shit. you gotta respect the courage and honesty. I believe him.
Kris should have her own crime channel 😂
what crimes should she commit?
Lmao, the abuse of Pete lmao😅❤
Absolutely yes!
Frr
She does! It's this channel.
i watched the morgan interview right after i finished the series and started laughing right away about how accurate her portrayal and accent was. give that actress her oscar right now!
Stalkers can be so scary. I had one for 5 years. He started stalking me cause I was nice to him when no one else would be.
Something I noticed was that in all Fiona’s interviews saying she hasn’t watched the show, she references it and she constantly backs down when asked if she wants Richard to show anything
Exactly. I watch a RUclips channel called Behavioral Arts. He breaks down the interview. It is so fascinating.
@@tiffanymichaels2429 I just watched that video from him and came to this video bc it was the next recommended 😂
@@susanebel7288 lol. Well he just released another video today cause she is now suing Netflix and the guy. She might just have a case. I never even watched the show. But I sure am watching the drama around it 😅
On her Facebook she posted a pic of her watching it saying “f**k you Richard Gadd” and she talks about this so much everyday
When I saw the poster for this I thought it would be about a lady that accidentally shrinks someone like honey I shrunk the kids, WELL I WAS WRONG!!😭
Judging by just the poster I just assumed it was about a stalker lady who breaks a person down so much they end up keeping them like a treasure. Like a baby reindeer eating from her palm
I am laughing so hard at this!!!!!
She calls him baby reindeer because he resembles the stuffed toy reindeer she had as a child that made her feel safe while growing up in an abusive home.
I misread "Reindeer Baby" as "Render Baby", so I thought it was about using computer technology to make a combination of Kris and Kaleb to see what their child would look like.
Me too! 😭 That is the same as that 'indian in the cupboard' movie and i thought from the sinister angle it would be like a horror version of honey i shrunk the kids or something 😓
Biggest biggest props to Richard gadd for recreating that entire situation because as someone who has gone through stuff I could never.
😅😅😂🎉
When I saw the tweet about the curtains I was FLOORED. She cant even deny it.

I love that she has different creative intos in every video 😂❤
me too! its so fun to see how many different intros she creates
I'm not mentally in a place where i can handle watching the show at the moment, but when i am i will absolutely watch. Very much appreciate the intent behind its creation, and i sincerely hope he continues to heal and do amazing things.
Just a heads up Episode 4 is the most traumatic I found
Trigger warning for EVERYTHING
I had to fast forward through most of episode 4 cus I couldn’t handle it and it kinda messed me up for a few days but it’s an important show.
Thank you for the heads up yall 💜 will make sure I've made a lot more progress and I'm in a good sturdy place before I watch. And will be prepared to schedule extra therapy if possible.
I watched Fiona's interview with Piers before I watched the show and her inability to keep her story straight made me want to watch it. The show was a difficult watch for me (I've been stalked and SA'd), but I'm glad I watched it. Richard Gadd's bravery is admirable, it's difficult enough to tell your story let alone reinacting your assualts on film.
I hope it brought you some kind of peace ❤
They torture me enough. The world doesn’t deserve that. But I’m glad others don’t feel that way and can find more adequate means of coping.
I love how Kris talks not only about the show, but the real characters' lives and shared what the creator intended on doing by creating this series; letting people know that they are not alone in their situation, which I feel is AMAZING. I really sympathize for victims in these stalking situations and love that people want to create "safe spaces" for others in similar situations💖💖
I could listen to kris talk for hours ❤
I would order a yapachino if I have to
Agree for sure; nice voice, clear words, interesting takes and usually very reasonable opinions.
Hard to tell for sure ofc without actually knowing her, but she just seems like a genuinely nice person (not just acting like it for the video or something)
U ain't lying.
She's clearly got an enthusiastic tone of voice which makes it fun & exciting
baby reindeer is such a good show im glad youre talking about his story to bring more attention to it💗
The depth and complexity of the characters, especially its real-life basis, makes the series even more intriguing. Can really resonate with the vulnerability portrayed.
I love how supportive Donny's parents are! That was so heartwarming ❤ more parents need to support their kids in this way. That's real unconditional love ❤
Did the math, she would have to be posting 6 tweets an hour for a year to achieve 54,000 tweets.
Totally doable.
i also did some math and based on the 1.5 years and 54,000 tweets she was doing ~100 tweets/day which is actually insane what the hell
I know people who post 6 tweets in 10 minutes, so it's entirely possible
If that's the case then it would of turned to be exactly as it is
Her facebook posts proves it is sooo possible 🤣
1:18 OMG SO HAPPY FOR YOU GUYS , CONGRATULATIONS 🎉❤
OMG THEYRE ENGAGED!
YAY!!!

It's on her middle finger
@@SBreezeeon oompavilles channels he said he was getting married soon!!!
She got exactly what she wanted. Again. All the attention and the ability to get back into his life and upend it.
after watching caleb they act and talk so similar 😂 fav couple 💕
I was SO proud to be watching this show in my lifetime. I feel like this show finally brought the truth behind the potential psychological process of being an SA victim to people who would've never had to consider it. I thought this was such an important piece of work ❤
Same, I really think it helps portray what can happen to an individual trying to cope after being horribly violated and it kinda brought me some peace on a personal level. Like the kind of feeling like I’m not alone and it really can take a toll mentally and work itself into your everyday life
Man, its crazy that people chose and go on to harrass that lady despite the creator of the show saying he didn't want them to.
She's actively wanting attention herself too by going on the internet talking about this. If she didnt say crap, no one would've been on her ass about this..
What's really interesting is how different the two people who hurt him were. One was a man he knew fairly well, who he trusted prior to the incidents, and who physically violated him. The other was a woman, a total stranger who he'd had some civil conversations with, whose harm and impact was vastly different to his first abuser.
It really shows that this shit can happen to anyone, from anyone, at any time.
It pushes against the notion that assault happens from strangers in alleyways, not people you know and trust. It shows men _do_ get assaulted, and stalked, and harassed, and that they can and should come forward about it without experiencing shame or mocking. The fact that it's based heavily on a true story only cements that.
It's good that people are learning.
I literally watched it today and I cried…and cried, traumatizing is an understatement for what that series is
Lil correction. Darien in the show labeled himself a "polyamorous pansexual" not gay. I only caught that on the second watch thru though with my friend.
How is that any different?
@@reyray7184 Well, if you are asking the difference between being pansexual and gay (although I doubt the sincerity of your questions)Being gay means a man who is attracted to and wants to have sex with other men being pansexual means a person who is attracted and wants to have sex with people of all genders. Pretty easy.
@@kelseydeboer1136 what you say here we just callled bi a few years ago....

Pansexual=wanting to bang all genders (including non-binary and whatever else)
Bisexual=wanting to bang men and women. Just two, as that is what BI means. Seems you skipped out on what suffixes mean what in grade school.
@@kelseydeboer1136 I didn't really know and didn't care enough to look it up so your assumption is fair. However there's truly only four sexual preferences: straight, gay, bi, and tri-sexual. Tri-sexual means you'll try anything eg sheep, trans, furries, etc. All this other preferential nonsense is just splitting hairs.
Yay! She posted no more boredom.
the fact that this show went over peoples heads and they down play his experience and say he deserved it, is heartbreaking. they've obviously never gone through what people like him have and imo, they do not have the right to give their "opinion". those people are why men don't step forward. because people take it as a joke.
Not me getting paranoid because I'm watching this at work rn, work, at a bar, at night.... Why do i do this to myself🤣
You're amazing at affirming others 🖤 thanks for speaking about male victims of SA with compassion and note its importance
Kris saying "our company" and taking such pride in sourboys and all the hard work that goes in make my heart smile
I loved this show. It was dark, but had humor and it showed how we are all just human and have our faults. Some just have more demons than others, but we all have our demons. It wasn't black and white, it showed the grey area. I truly felt sympathy for all of the main characters involved on multiple occasions. The whole situation was sad. It made me think of that phrase " hurt people hurt people". Shows how someone can be traumatized then take it out on someone else, keeping an unhealthy cycle going.
I just realized Kris films like oompa now, with the multiple camera views and silly immature jokes, so adorable I love them 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
Make sense that they own a company together I guess haha
U take on traits of people ur around and love. I feel like this is a perfect and healthy example of that. And I think they would both be sooo fun to hang out with.

Her behavior reminds me of my sister and the way she treats her "boyfriend". It's scary, recognizing pretty much every angle of these behaviors.
My heart hurts for anyone who is taken advantage of. I can image how scary it is to be stalked by someone! Richards actions played a big role in the crazy disfuntional things that happen to him, but he owns his mistakes along the way.
I went into it blind and I'm sure like anyone who has lived through any kind of relatable trauma, it was a hard watch but therapeutic in a way. I appreciate and applaud him for baring his soul for his healing and for ours as well.
I just LOVE Kris she feels like a best freind even though I've never talked to her!

It was wild to watch the interview and see just how delusional she actually is.
None of her behaviour is congruent with someone just chillin and living their life without being a stalker and/or deeply mentally unwell.

This summary and review was excellent. I'd be happy to hear more. It hit home with me as well, since I had a social media stalker for a while (sometimes phone but mostly Facebook). I had to create a new profile and leave the old one up for a while... it was a mess, but finally after she had made roughly 30 or so fake profiles (using her original name for some odd reason) eventually she realized I was unreachable. I set my new profile to be as private as possible for about a year, and (fortunately) was able to move out of state (for various reasons, not just that). The conversations got extremely toxic, so I think when I've some time and feel prepared I might actually start watching this to appreciate this guy's story a bit more.
Thank you. Immensely.
I think there are alot more people that have gone thru something like this that never tell anyone or report it. And that is so sad and scary. I'm so glad you covered this story
I agree with you, sadly. What I have found is that in some Police forces in the UK, they either don’t want to know and/or they don’t have the resources to investigate properly and they then want the victim to gather all the evidence and only then will they even look semi-interested. My child is still being harassed by an ex to this day because our local police was more interested in the ex’s MH, than the damage they were wreaking onto my child and the ripple effect that it’s still having on the family. I feel truly ashamed and I completely HATE that I can’t get any of this sorted for them…so the “Parent of the Year Award” doesn’t go to me. It’s not a pity party type of thing, it’s just something that I honestly feel and think.
It’s so brave of Mr Gadd to have brought his own experiences to the forefront of what should have been a far more important conversation than it was previously.
It's so funny to watch her deny everything in the interview with Piers Morgan. He puts her on blast & asks her if there is any truth to the netflix movie & she denies that any of it is true. But you can read it on her face what the truth is. 😏😏😏
I want to know more about all this from her pov.
Why do people like that not understand what they are doing?

Great review. Yeah, this story was beyond anything I could imagine. I felt for is character and the abuse he suffered. When he went back, I was like man it was a shame he felt it necessary to connect with a man who totally took advantage of him. I do find it interesting that the real woman outed herself, proving she is as bonkers as she was portrayed.
Switching gears, if you have Max, I highly recommend I’ll Be Gone in the Dark, about author Michelle McNamara's obsessive quest to figure out who the Golden State killer was and the toll it took on herself and her family. I’ve watched it twice, it’s that good.

as a teen who struggles with PTSD from being sa'd as a young child in an environment that was meant to be safe , this show really connected with me. Through out the show a lot of the feelings Richard described and portrayed made me feel incredibly seen and heard , and less disgusted with myself. The amount of times I silently broke into tears is unnerving but it did me good, I finally allowed myself to mourn and cry for the little girl who was violated and convinced into silence for nearly a decade. It allowed me to feel confident in my body , for that I'll forever be grateful.
Best recap of the entire situation I've seen on YT thus far. Thank you, Kris 🙂

Thanks for explaining this story!! The other day, I saw the breakdown of how she responded in the Pier’s Morgan interview, on The Behavior Panel’s channel, but all they said in the intro was “everyone is talking about it”. I’m like “no, I’m out of the loop, please explain at least a little of who this is and what the heck this is about first.” So thanks for filling that in.

I only watched this series because you made this video, Kris. Had me in tears multiple times. Definitely worth watching.
Thank you for the review. Enjoyed that recap.
when kris said “I switched urLaundry “I said “aweeeeee thank uuu “. I love her
Not me waiting for the real Martha to start commenting on this video. Excessively. Obsessively. 👀. Kris be so brave.
I honestly would be very flattered if Kris suddenly appeared in my home and did my dishes, etc. 🥰
In all seriousness tho, stalking is very terrifying and I'm glad that Richard Gadd was comfortable enough to come forward and tell his story.
I'm sure he's helped a lot of people ❤️
Such a powerful series! I laughed and cried so much!
Oh my word the thumbnail is so amazing
