The water is too cold. They are use to warmer waters. You would have to acclimate it longer for those Temps. From the experience I've had. I have my pond covered with a heater and keep the temp over 65

They needed a good sized, heated indoor aquarium. They would've thrived. They were moving around good in the bags. You introduced them to a cold, they are far from used too as a species.
Would've been a killer deal at $100 each. Should've gotten the heated aquarium, with the money saved getting them so cheap.

Arows are really sensitive to cold (all South American fish are). They probably would have survived if you put the first in a simple 10/15 gallon heated tank until they could get some food into them.

Sorry to say man you killed them when they not small the need to be in a tank and warm water around 76-78 not 68 or whatever that lake temperature is. When they biggest then you Transfer them to the pond that way they can hand the water better.
