Thanks for letting us have a good listen to this guitar… most other YT “ reviews” on the Mini Maton are dominated by voice & choppy thrash strumming. Most don’t plug the guitar in which turns it into very different sounding instrument. Matons always sound very “ clean & crisp” generally. I think the Blackwood body sounds a bit more lush in comparison to the EM6 made with the Spruce top/QLD Maple back & sides; the all Blackwood Diesel different again…. Really 3 different Maton Minis!
Congratulations on your new Maton guitar. It sounds really good already. I am a proud Australian who loves his Maton guitars. A bit like an American with their wonderful Martin guitars. I have a 75th anniversary model and cannot put it down because I love it that much . I have also owned a M325C model too. Good luck with your gigging. 🙏🏼👍😎
I wish they did a blackwood equivalent to the EM6 in the Minis. That is Blackwood back n sides, spruce top, the basic pickup. Give me a ‘different’ option to add to the SRS60 I have. But I guess it would step on the toes of the BB and the Diesel.
Good buy my friend! You forgot to mention that (1) it’s MADE IN AUSTRALIA (since 1946) and (2) Diesel is a great icon Australian musician (Check him out and be amazed!) .. so… My one arrived yesterday!! Yep, it’s very small and light but the case is HEAVY!! Who cares, it’s freaking AMAZING! Happy New Year from sunny Sydney Australia 🇦🇺😎❤️
Hey thanks man, I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine, I had it with me over Christmas and my mom and everybody else loved the sound of it, and I played it unplugged all the time :) thanks 👍🏻😊
I have one of these. They really open up over time and lose some of the small tinny sound and develops a really full and mello tone. Plugged in it beats my grand auditorium model. It is now my absolute go to guitar. Couldn’t be happier. For anyone wondering, the mic should never be used on its own as it has the bass EQed out. It should only be used with the piezo to give air and presence. For best results, max both!
the normal mini has different wood, it has queensland maple back and sides and sitka spruce top and queensland Maple Neck and at the diesel Special that is australian black wood back and sides, and this one has the ap5 pro pick up, the normal one has the normal ap5

At the cost of this guitar I wouldn’t expect it to have such a hollow sound it’s almost like a dime store sound

Thanks, good advice 👍🏻
why is the Diesel better/more expensive than the Blackwood? thanks
@@BarbarraBay Timber grade that is used and appointments. EMD6 is AA Blackwood/Spruce. EBW6 is A grade Blackwood. The Maton website has all the specs.
