I love how knowledgeable and sure of herself Ally is. Great review folks! What market would you recommend this product for?
It's not a 3-way SOLENOID valve. The pressure relief valve on an E61 is mechanically activated by a cam on the lever and a solenoid is electrically activated.
1:11 Can't forget the Microsoft™ rag.
LOL. Beat me to it.
So it wasn't just me
It's great for cleaning Windows.
Hi SCG! Will the R58 have a timer version too? I'm planning to upgrade soon but I'll hold back if the Cronometro versions will be coming. 😊
Hi! great review. Do you know why the steamer on this machine pours out water when I try to steam milk? a big mess :/
I just hung a timer on the wall next to the machine. That way I can program it for what I want. This is a cool feature though.
no timer to turn it on in the mornin? Also wondering about the pid electronics being right behind the drip tray like that- just seems l;ike it might subject it to too much risk of getting the electronics wet with the drop tray right in front of it?
How do you adjust the pump pressure on this model?
Thanks so much for the video. I bought one as a gift for a friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and the Grinder!
Wow some friend 😲
Can we be friends?
This is awesome but, darn I just bought a Mozzafiato. The eco mode and the timer would have saved me so much hassle.
Now I want the timer on my r58. Rocket need* to make retro fit kits. * well need is a strong term. I'd think it's awesome if they did, I could stop using my coffee timer app on my phone
I just bought it! Can’t wait to arrive!
And what do you think about it pray tell?
How is it? Thinking of buying too 😄
So the pid controller doesn't go lower than 100?
How can they pull the shot and steam the milk at the same time with a heat exchanger rather than dual boiler? I'm trying to learn these basic things. Can someone clarify?
You just can, the heat exchanger single boiler has more than enough power to do both at once. If you are trying to make 10 milk drinks straight, you might want a dual boiler for extra power.
Timer rocks!!!
How new is the model with the timer? I’ve never seen this but think it would be super useful and looks discreet.
They just came out!
Seattle Coffee Gear Cool. Not even known about by my Rocket dealer in Canada. At only $50 more, seems like a deal.
Seattle Coffee By the way Ally and especially the ever knowledgeable and jargon free but super smart Gail are the best brand for your store. But you already knew that
Is there a way to add this new timer to the previous Mozzafiato from Rocket?
do you have a phone or watch ? trust me on this, this approach won't ruin its looks...
Who uses the timer anyway? Look at flow control and realize the shot could go way longer and still be fine. WLL sells them for an E61 Profitec, but they will work on Rockets as well.
Hope that PID is waterproof being located in the drip tray. Why on earth would you put a LED display in a wet area out of sight and vulnerable to being damaged with water in the drip tray.
So that were only 6 bars. Was the grind too coarse or the OPV adjusted too low by the factory?
The timer is way too small and you can see a notch from the laser cut out. Not a perfect finish, same with the R9 One.
The manual E61 has no solenoid valve, sorry Gail.
You guys are so mint
Do people actually have such big Espresso Machines in their homes? I'm considering buying a De'Longhi Dedica, anyone have one of these that also can give me an opinion on if it's a good Espresso Machine?
Shaun Vargas Yes.. depends on your espresso perspective. Others have guns others dont. Others have high fashion clothes ither dont. It’s about what you really want and you need for yourself. Personally i am an espresso lover. I also own the Dedica ec685 and it’s a great machine. I even updated in a non pressurized basket and got better results BUT 51mm basket plus pump and group head and portafilter quality are plain aluminum so it’s not “commercial” grade. You can’t drink that super tasty extract but an OK coffe. Hope i helped.
Yes people do. Many RUclips videos to show that. I have upgraded the countertop and will eliminate the light rail just to get one to fit. A proper cup of espresso is an unbelievable elixir with a viscosity and oiliness to last. Ten minutes after, you will still be under its effects.
I have a Rancilio Silvia and have had it for the last 10 years. Most cheaper machines are in the pile 3X in that same time period. With a lot of plastic parts to break and aluminum parts to corrode, you have to be VERY careful with the cheaper ones. I go inside people's houses as part of my job and many times spot the pile of $250-$300 machines in the basement by the bar or electrical panel because they are broken and nobody wants to throw them out. Collectively the money could have been spent once and the same machine will still be working years later.
Did anyone had a hard time with Gail standing on the left side of the screen? I am used to seeing her reviews standing on the right. 😅
nope
This finicky machine is for you...
I've quit the internets forever because of it
@@Todd.T 🤣
You aren't allowed to void the warranty for disassembling the machine if you cannot prove that doing so damaged the machine. If the user can disassemble it property and assemble it back then you should not worry.
Isn't a cooling flush necessary?
Edit: not on a PID machine.
depends on who you listen to, mark over at whole latte says you don't need to whilst others say you do. personally i do it to warm the cup up but i can't really tell any difference.
@Allie Kraft you see jason ? it depends on who you listen to. mark did a temp comparison and found little to know difference in the water temp coming out of the group, their is so much hokem pokem in expressing coffee that you will go insane if you follow every bit of advise. saying that i do have some to give out, do the same thing over and over and keep it as simple as possible. oh, and focus on enjoying the coffee and if that means you go off piste then so be it, ask yourself "does this taste good to me", if it does then be happy with your life. its only coffee.
@Allie Kraft You're 100% correct! And you don't even need to let it sit a few hours!
For personal example, if my "Vibiemme Domobar Super HX rotary/manual" sets for 30 minutes even, the first few seconds out the brew-group/head is STEAM and some water, and that's not what you want to make espresso (brewing-water temp WAY too high)! So, you MUST let it run (brew lever on) a few seconds AT LEAST until the steam stops -- before brewing. If I let it sit only 20 minutes, no steam, but the brewing water temp MAY be a bit higher than desired. Still, immediate brewing IS possible, but NOT if let sitting 30min. Or more...
But for sure, an HX machine uses way more water than a double-boiler (DB) due to "cooling flushes" they often require -- DBs don't need cooling flushes but MIGHT need a short "warming flush."
Happy Espresso-ing,
-- BR
Looks like the pressure gauge is too low. The lady’s couldn’t see it but we could.... the grind must have been too coarse... otherwise nice looking machine and review.
squibcakes74 the pressure gauge doesn’t give an ultimate decision on how the grind is. Far better to use time and weight/ volume or more importantly taste!
On the vibratory pump model the pump takes 5 to 10 seconds to build up pressure. On the rotary pump model the pressure changes almost instantly.
Tell me why it's advertised as having a 3 litre reservoir when it holds 2 litres and no more. Yes I measured mine.
The 2 ladys have no ideaa how to properly use this amazing machine!
One thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three......
i've got this model in the uk, i wouldnt have bought it with that awful timer visible on the front. mozzafiato means breath taking in english and it just looks wrong and fugly with that silly little cut out staring right at you. buy a stop watch or use your phone if you want a timer, or better still wait for the coffee to blonde and taste the extraction to see if you like it.
Consistent is the issue here Mate. The timing is crucial and who has a stop watch or iPhone next to them all the time!
@@gosman949 yeah, the world is stuffed full of people who can pay 1500 english quid for a hand built coffee machine and who doesn't have the foresight to have a timer or a phone with them after weighing the beans out, dialling in the grind on a, at least, 400 quid grinder after searching out coffee that was roasted that very week. or put it like this, use the blonding method and start enjoying your coffee and stop pretending your a farking scientist.
@@gosman949 precisely. my guess is that its market is a small coffee shop or house kitchen or something that needs consistency.
Jay G. I agree. That’s why I use a special timer which is strapped to my wrist all the time. A nice secondary function is that it also tells me the time of day. 👍
@@humstrumbangtwang just stop with this preparedness, you're showing everyone else up by owning a watch...us watch-less people have to make do with one elephant, two elephant ;-)
The timer looks janky
Some more detail about pre-infusion would be helpful...
It is extremely disheartening when you invest a very large sum of money in an espresso machine from what you hope will be a reputable brand, only to discover you will be let down on parts! After waiting a month for a simple inexpensive part I am informed by the local distributor that it will be at least another month; no guarantee.
Meanwhile the owner of Rocket Espresso, Mr Andrew Meo, swans around Italy on his bicycle; perhaps he should focus on his business rather than his image on social media.
I would certainly NOT recommend Rocket Espresso as all you will end up with is a very expensive useless hunk of junk.
🤬
Considering purchasing a Rocket. How long did it take for them to take care of it?
LOL....@1:12 "a Microsoft cloth". Microsoft is a software company. The term I believe she was searching for is "micro fiber" cloth. Unless of course Microsoft is now making cloth.
