The focused stare as he goes through those guys. The blank look on his face is what makes this whole scene to another level. No emotion transcends the ultimate level of confidence and at that moment, it shows that he has done this before. Sending the thugs into a disbelief and finally fear that they are dealing with a true assassin on a level that they have never seen before.
A good rule to keep in mind when writing a screenplay: The more despicable the antagonist, the more satisfying it will be when the protagonist eventually defeats him. This scene is a good example of that.
@tradde11The Russian bar fight scene from Equalizer 1 and the fight scene in the kitchen in Bourne Identity where he sticks the magazine in the toaster and blows up the place after he kills his counterpart in the living room/kitchen.
I can never stop watching this scene, it is mesmerizing. So much packed into it. The knowing that the thugs have NO IDEA what's about to happen to them, all so cocky, thinking he's just an eccentric old man. Incredible justice, righteous vengeance stuff. Maybe the best part is when, far from leaving with his tail between his legs, he stops and LOCKS the freakin door, that is when they had to start to feel the fear, maybe not consciously but the man locked the door, turned, stood there a long pause then just strides towards them... wow.!!!
I love how he plays with them; the way in which he moves the skulls like chess pieces, like the school bully at the playground he cant help but taunt his victims as he implicitly tells them exactly what he's about to do, they see what's happening but they're frozen in disbelief and decide to play along with him because they just simply can't comprehend what's about to happen to them
I have loved this scene on a fantastic film for years, I can't stop watching this, it has to be one of the best fight scenes ever, all actors in this are awesome, but special mention to Denzil, he's so cool.
I have watched this scene many times over and get great satisfaction in seeing the evil guys receive the punishment they deserve. Denzil Washington is one of my favourite actors.
A perfect portrayal of a good person reacts to the situation no matter how risky it is. I am so inspired by his action and compassion for doing good which is so hard to see. I like Danzel Washington
When he locks them in, he was essentially sealing their fates... They just didn't know it at the time! This kinda reminds me of that Excellent Rorschach scene in Watchmen when, after melting the face of one of the prisoners using cooking oil, he screams at the rest of them: None of you seem to understand. I’m not locked in here with you. You’re locked in here with me! I just love it when the good guys are even badder than the bad guys... But only against the bad guys 👍🏼
Locking the door so that no one gets out is badass. Like a tomcat closing a hatch so that none of the mice escape before he kills every single one of them.

I think he was fighting himself from within on wether I should end these folks lives or maybe I try again another time. Then he was like fox it, the disrespect and laughing is real 😡
I just figured out why he was moving stuff on the desk. At first I thought it's because he's going to use those as weapons, and needs them in specific spots so he can switch between them..when in reality, he was laying out where everyone in the room is so he could visualize the best plan for survival. He uses the skull to represent his position so as to show the boss that he's a bringer of death, and they should've taken the money and let it go

Humanity? He killed three people violently. But it’s ok. He didn’t have free will. And neither did the Russian mobsters. Free will is an illusion.
It also teaches us just how ridiculous it is that one middle-aged man (no matter how well trained) can take out half a dozen armed men. Pure BS.
