Thanks to your videos, I got a 9 in Lang and an 8 in Lit a few years ago. I'm now training to be an English teacher, and I'm back watching your videos again... Thank you so much for your incredible content!
I just wanted to let you know that your videos were super helpful for my English literature exams in 2022. I just used your videos for revising it. Thank you so much!
This story was amazing. I love the mystery, the way it unfolded. There was loads of questions, and you could choose which should be answered at the end. Love it.
Mr Salles I absolutely adore this story so much 😭 i was genuinely enjoying it so much im defo gon write something similar in my exam (in a few months!!!)
I achieved a 9 in English literature and an 8 in English language, it was all thanks to Mr salles!! Thank you for your support, really couldnt have done it without you. I have some of my essays from the 2023 exams, please do let me know if you want them. Also i was a few marks away from full marks in english literature.
Hello sir, this is a question about power and conflict poems, Should i just learn the quotes from your 5 key quotation videos or more? is it enough to get grade 9 and can be used in every single question? if i have to learn more I don't know which ones to choose.
Mr Salles, great video btw. But can you please make a video on the 2022 acc question "How does Dickens present the effects of loneliness and isolation" (extract and without extract): I've been kinda lost on this question because I don't understand what it wants me to do, specifically with the "effects" part
Hi, I have a 34 mark assessment on Lord of the Flies on Friday and I am really struggling on what to write and how to get a grade 9. Pls tell me or anyone some ideas and quotes i could use. The questions, "How does Jack change throughout Lord of the Flies"
How do you know that the examiner will always notice every little detail? Surely they’d be guaranteed to miss at least one of the times you used contrast, for example.
hi sir i just found out i got a grade 5 in my english language mock ( i am very disappointed ) i haven’t received my paper yet but i have followed your videos and first rate tutors which are very helpful! i don’t know how to improve last minute and i struggle with timing. do you have any advice to get a grade 8?
I'm not a teacher but I'm working at a 9,9 in English so idk, anyway just answer full papers and hand ask teachers to mark and give feedback (luckily my teacher always gave good feedback) so just listen their critiques of your work, and adapt it. This is important especially for English; as stories can often be reused, with a bit of modification. Hope this is helpful
@@anverybigidiot6482 thank you so so much, unfortunately my teacher never gave me back any feedback i asked her (it’s been like a month and still nagged her about it) so i kinda have to work on my own but ill try my best.. thank you so much for your advice :)
I have a question: If I meticulously plan and memorize a story with the intention of adapting it to a given question, but the question is entirely unrelated to my story's plot-such as requesting a supernatural element while my story primarily revolves around someone reflecting on their past (completely non-fiction) -can I simply insert a couple of sentences about something supernatural, even if it seems arbitrary and doesn't align with the plot? Would this still fulfill the requirements of answering the question? If it doesn’t,do you have any tips on how i could make it work without changing the plot of my story? I do AQA btw and feel like taking a risk since you always say that examiners dont care as long as the question is answered.
@MrSallesTeachesEnglish that's a good idea I didn't think of that! , but what are the chances that the question will actually ask about something supernatural.. is it fine if I only include what the question is asking me in a short scene or right at the end?
@@_z.ao_3175Hello I use to be in the same situation as you during my last mock in Novemeber I had received a grade 4 in both my English exams. However one tip which helped me to secure Grade 6s in both my English exams where practicing papers twice a week and trying to Master the structure of the Question format. This will really help you as you will be able to understand what the questions wants from you. Another tip is whenever you do practice papers, try start with Question 5 first as this Question is worth 40marks then after doing this go back to Question 1 and work your way to Question 4 this should guarantee you improving your overall grade.
not really, the 2022 exam story was the topic of saving someone from a life threatening situation. You couldn't talk about this story if you got a topic like that.
He may not be pregnant but he never fails to deliver

You don’t count the good passes and runs in a football game, but you can easily say which team is playing better.

Well, I would take the easiest solution- your narrator becomes a the ghost

What was the question, Mr Salles
Could we ever get flagged down for plagiarism by doing this?
Only if you copy sentences
Will there always be a story?
The exam board don’t guarantee it, but I think it is 99% certain
