Great vid as always Steve!! I noticed in the last slo-mo shot, and a few others, it looked like one was flexing, or had more excursion than the other. I wonder if thats from speaker manufacturing, the amp, or just the frame rate of the camera. It would seem to me that if they are "unbalanced", it would distort the frequencys and possibly cancel frequencys, and thus the sound. I would think that the best sound would come from all the speakers moving in precise unison. If deflection distorts sound, i bet unbalanced speakers wreak havok on lower frequencys. Or maybe its was just the frame rate and they are perfectly in sync. Something to ponder man.

The way these subs move with the rolling shutter makes it trippy

Anthony S. There is no such thing as 100% perfect. wiring distance, production differences and so many more variables means that not just these, but every dual speaker system will ever be the exact same. ever.
no, it isn't....and you CERTAINLY wouldnt be able to see that on FB live. At 240fps you can barely make out a slight difference and that is the angle of the shot...they are wired in series, getting identical power. The box is 100% concentric. Nothing crazy going on just 2 subs being pushed way past their mechanical limits. Again, nothing you would see on FB live so just stop LOL.

I'm impressed by how much cone control these things have! Most subs would be all over the place unloaded so far below port tuning. Impressive!
On the last 20hz run, it looked like one of the subs was moving farther and at a different pace from the other. Is that a camera frame rate thing, or is one sub genuinely responding differently from the other?
Is the sub on the right newer than the other. Just wondering why the one on the left was going to the limit of the surround while the other not so much. I'm still learning the game

The left dynamics of amplitude is lively. How are the wires connected to the speakers physically connected?
They're direct leads not pop up/down connectors. Wire to wire connection.

nahhh. I was actually able to set the gains with a DD-1. So it is less than 1% distortion (unlike cough cough a few of the other brands from that area). It is still class D though so you are still right haha

most subs would sound like nothing and be giving up smoke while doing it......it is like 20hz below tuning. That is not good for ANY woofer.

Hahaha, oh I hear you brother. I can't deny how impressive those Russian subs keep proving to be. Mechanical noises from a subwoofer make me pucker up enough to make diamonds. In 20 years of my (non professional) car audio I've never blown a sub on accident. I'll play em hard but I always "try" to stay just inside the safe zone. That's why I appreciate the risks you take to show us what these product can and will do, or won't do. Thanks again man, you keep us all in the loop and take some risks for us.

My box is almost 300lbswith my 2 unlawful sounds 15s loaded and it jumps in my truck on the lows. Would anchor it down but lose a DB from where I'd have to keep it with seats up(have kids) any other ideas on how to keep box from dancing
Try putting some metal iside the box on bottom or concrete or summthin like that weigh it down. Easiest thing to do without moddifyin anything. But it still may move a little. Only sure 100%way to fix is bolt/mount. Try the weight thing it might work.

It's not bad, it's there to protect your woofers from damage from very low frequencies at high volume.
Grab a Bass Mekanik test CD and do the infamous 1 hz track, off the CD, not the calibrator.

no idea. I haven't seen your car in person. But you don't have to do anything you don't wanna do....i know that. Might be a great suggestion though.

ドリフト王 sounds like a rip of to me. If you don't add bass boost and all that shit on your head unit you should be ok with stock speakers. Hopefully they set it up for you correctly that it doesn't distort on you. My advice is don't buy a cheap ass head unit, those tend to distort easily.

I cant get my subs to hardly move at 20hz, let alone 7! My svs sub in my home will do it though. I currently have a JBL 1001ez pushing 4 American bass xd844 subs and I know that a.o makes power because the 501ez you tested made 717 watts certified. Do these class d amps just drop off at very low bass or what? I had an illness Phoenix gold xs2150 that was only rated at 75 watts per channel and hooked to a single solobaric 12 it looked like it was coming out of the box at 10hz and that was in a small single sub hatch. Maybe I'm wrong but these newer class d a.ps just wont put out below 30hz. These 4 8 inch subs I have should flex hard, but even at 20hz they will clip before they really move, and with a 10hz test tone they barely move a couple millimeters before it clips. At 40hz it hits hard and the 4 subs flex big time. I've had old school amps that make my subs flex/slam hard at 20hz despite making only about 1/4 the power. Do what amp do you recommend that doesnt fall off below 40hz. Thinking of finding an old school kicker ZX amp from circa 2003. Those never disappointed me with the lows. What is your opinion. I k ow that 4 8 inch subs in a sealed enclosure aren't going to set any spl records but I'd at least like to see them respond to lows. Seems all this new stuff doesnt hit lows very well. Just got back into car audio and everything seems to be focused to hit at 40hz and then goes to shit below that. Everything I try out disappoints me in the low lows.

its response rolls of at higher frequencies, its capable of reproducing those signals but not very well and infrasonic is just any frequency under 20hz

Hey so I'm building my first dual 12in setup after having a cheap pawn shop setup for about a year and I'm looking at 2 Sundown SA 12-D4s (750w RMS each) running at 1ohm with possibly a 1500w Sundown mono-amp. Is there anything wrong with this particular setup that I should know about? Anybody's suggestion/insight helps. Cheers :)
Mrjoecreeper I've got 1 SA12D2 on 1 SAE 1000D running fine so far.
These subs start letting the smoke out at ~1500w.
So I'm good with running 2 of them on 1 1500w amp or should I look for a 2000w amp?
Stick with the 1500w unless you plan on getting into competitions with them.
If you are unsure if a sub could take the extra power just go by the listed ratings.

Just like if it had a separated chamber. But i don't blow subs in a non competition setting...ie a daily driven car so that isn't a problem.
