Welcome to this week's update. No news this week but lots going on and lots of progress on the Fulmar to chat about. www.justgiving... www.whizz-kidz...
One way to sort out the acrylic blah (sorry, stole your word) is, does it have a flame or exclamation mark warning symbol on the bottle. Atom, AK 3rd Gen, MMP and other 'true' water based acrylics do not. Tamiya acrylics for instance do. Interestingly, the acrylic thinners that are recommended for water based acrylics (e.g. AK) do mostly have the warning symbols - the only one that I have that doesn't is Modellers World Acrylic Doctor.
@@thescalemodellingcafe Yes, I've just checked the small print - says 'contains low-aromatic alcohols' but definitely doesn't have any warning symbols; naughty.
Love the rants, Jamie! We Americans don't say the "h" in herbs because we don't say it in other words that start with "h", like honest, heir and hour. Come to think of it, I don't think the English do either. Why is that? Oh well, I guess I'll just blame the Normans.
Who doesn't like a good glue fume fueled rant lol, this ginger approves. The Fulmar is looking good, I wonder how hard it would be to convert it to a Firefly for a RCN build.
@@thescalemodellingcafe is there a 1/48 Firefly kit, I can't find one. I've got the RCAF from Sabre to Hornet and want to do post WW2- Sea King for the RCN
Haven't laughed so much in ages. Think you digressed from your rant with another rant. Anyway, congratulations on reaching 5K subs and the build is looking fantastic. Interesting to note the inner wing became more faded than the outer because of the wing fold. At risk of another rant, will you weather the outboard lower wing surfaces more heavily ? As usual great work and I'm looking forward to the video's.
Hi Jamie, great video, love the new presentation - almost in the style of 'Good Morning Vietnam' why not start with 'Good morning Saudi Arab.......' maybe not.
😅 Great rant...or two! Right on with the In-Brush mixing...having only used the Atom thinner with the Atoms - it does the job very well - minimal mixing required. Much unlike the Vallejo Airs. As an American-Brit now living in the UK I can say that the 'erb' thing has always irritated me. On balance though it is 'baasel' for 'basil' and not 'Coriander' but 'Cilantro'...what is it with 'herbs'?
question as a new modeller when it comes to thiining paint it says on container 60/40 but doesnt say which is the paint hows that supposed to help newbies?
Love a good rant, and the FB RLM accuracy bunfight was quite funny 😂 Looking forward to this series, it will help me decide to build mine or not , I did fancy wings folded but I’ve changed my mind somehow 🫤
To be blunt. F***k em' let them keep ranting at the wall from their dark corner of the playground. You keep doing what you are doing. Yourself It appears like it. I and others like it. Fulmar looks tops. 🤘🥸🤟
Your rants are always fun to listen to. Fulmar is looking great.
Thanks mate
I'm only here for the rants....(and the quality builds)! 😉😆😂🍻

Love the rant, You should try living next door to them 🤣Just kidding, Canadian Joke! The Fulmar is looking Great.
Thanks Will

I think many have alcohol in it?

Impossible mate, they are totally different airframes.

Yeah that "Solder" rant deserves another donation for the kids. (Its French by origin, the Brits being silly buggers put the unnecessary L in it)
We do that!

Thanks very much Andrew. I won't because the underside was tucked up against the fuselage.

I hqve also heard of "sprues" refered to as "trees"
Yep, me too

Just start with 50/50, test it then adjust as required. It's not an exact science.

Good decision!
