I hear what Scott is saying about the whole identity politics thing, but I just don’t know if I agree that the way to go is to abandon identity politics as fast as we can. Like, yes, it can be problematic and people can definitely get carried away with it, and they definitely have gotten carried away with it in a lot of ways, but to push it aside and just focus on substance and policy I think brings up two issues: the first is that it kind of feels like the scenario that so many of us have probably experienced where you have your grandfather saying something racist at the dinner table, and just to keep the peace you try to stay on topic and you ignore the bigotry that’s coming out of his mouth. I don’t think that creates a healthy income in a lot of instances. And the second thing is that, focusing on policy and substance would be fantastic but so many of us on the Left feel like the Right actually never talks about policy and substance (or to the degree that they do, it’s very shallow and black and white). Contrary to what they see in themselves, they often operate based on bumper-sticker slogans and “common sense” (codeword for “I just feel this way”)

Geopolitically the US has lost a lot of moral authority. Trump, Israel's genocide of Gaza, Jan 6th attack.
Perfect was a terrible movie, but boy did JLC open my eyes as a youngster in that.
Get away from identity politics, start focusing on class again, ala FDR.
47:27 So whose quality of life is more important?
Tim miller?
Where is Tim Miller? Your title is deceptive.
"get away from identity politics" then proceeds to talk about how Israel is doing the right thing because we have to help the jews... Also claiming we are doing the right thing supporting 1000s of civilians being killed, injured, made homeless, and starving.
I actually disagree with more from this podcast than I agree with. With that being said, I listen weekly and still get quite a bit of perspective that I otherwise would not have thought about.
I agree, its fun to hear the delusional goofy takes from these morons.
Jessica, in a real conversation on safety, please do not talk about your transit habits. Stay safe.
lol ok goofball
I cannot understand their take on Israel. It's completely incompatible with all their other views and political stances.
they are jews, dummy
Why is Tim Miller in the title of this video?
Also you guys had me until you started talking about identity politics. Anyone who thinks democrats ran on identity politics in 2024 is delusional.
Wild how y’all misled viewers with the title and then front loaded the pod with all your decent takes and went off the deep end in the last 20 minutes.
LMAO Federman/Tores??? Federman is unelectable at this point.
Both those guys are foreign assets
A Fish Called Wanda, obviously.
Wait why are they both calling Donald Trump’s wife “Alania”? Her name is “Melania”…
EEEElonia, as in Elon Musk
27:00 people don't need a handout; they need good paying jobs and for real wages to increase for once in the past 20 years. Btw - Real wages - wages adjusted for inflation - increased 7% during former President Donald Trump’s four years in office, the highest increase over one presidential term since the 1970s.
TDS 💯
32 y/o 150k job that can't find a house LMAO what is this lady smoking
try 32 y/o with 50k job if they're lucky
absolutely out of touch nonsense
Fetterman - Torrez -- the ticket guaranteed to win the Liz Cheney vote . . . how did that work out??
Jordan Neeley take is so far off it is painful -- the guy choked out the other guy who was yelling -- he choked him for minutes beyond the point at which he stopped moving -- he choked him beyond the death throws and body twitches of a dying man -- this was a class issue, not race
The right is obsessed with race -- Boomers disavowed class conflict in favor of racial division
Why don't you get out of the pool, RUclips Video Upload Title Guy?
So celebrating a vigilante like Penny? but Luigi is bad? That’s a bit messed up. I don’t disagree homelessness is an
Issue but so is crippling healthcare costs
Maybe Biden will pardon the economy next? You're already blaming Trump for rising interest rates, the variable rate on my HELOC has gone up over 4 points in the past years. Bang up job Joe, thanks. And yes, that is just another piece of why I voted for Trump. Kamala said she was going to keep doing the same things, I don't need my HOA rate to go up another 4 points.
South Africa is not a city
He said Cape Town.😊
Trump has given us a decade of word salad. How anyone w intellect doesn't see it is beyond me.
now do Biden
A gay black Latino who supports Israel . . . Ritchie Torres sounds like a daytime talk show guest.
I love the Dems still trying to convince themselves how wonderful thr economy is! 😂
since you can't name a single bad metric you resort to your feelings 🤣
